Harrier House is very well appointed and the interior finish is to a high end standard. Relatively new (4 years old), the staff are welcoming and always keen to help with anything. They cannot do enough to make one's stay a pleasure. It's warm, comfortable and spacious. Very clean and tidy and maintained to a high standard. The rooms are spacious and have ensuite facilities. Staff are available 24/7 via a personal button. My stay, to date, has been 8 weeks, I have enjoyed every minute. If I needed full life care I'd stay here. Fully recommend. Food was excellent and mainly prepared from scratch.
I cannot find fault with this wonderful home. The ambience, staff and activities are wonderful. I have stayed in 5 star hotels that are not as good as Harrier House.
Everyone at the home have been really helpful in every aspect, from helping mum with her care and from listening to and support the whole family.
Due to a recent illness of my grandad the care home has been excellent at making them both feel welcome. They have been amazing all throughout.
Staff are so pleasant and demonstrate such warming and reassuring care to family members.
The staff and care are beyond compare - as visitors, we're always welcomed warmly and enjoy the activities we can share like the quiz nights. The staff are kind, sensitive, good humoured and always helpful. The home itself is beautifully clean, spacious and I have stayed in 4-star hotels which are not as lovely. Thank you all.
The care and support we received by everyone in the Harrier House was excellent during our difficult time. Always welcomed with ample food and drink, felt very safe and clean.
Clean modern and safe surroundings. Friendly and cooperative staff. All are very cheerful and remember residents' names. Lots of activities and trips for residents and relatives are included in many events.
My Mamma is really happy here and says she loves it. The staff and the residents are friendly. Any issues that we have raised to the home have been promptly addressed. The activities are fabulous, with boules and trips out. The hairdressers and nail bar are a big hit.
The staff are very friendly and supportive of my granny as well as my family. They give my granny the expert care and support she needs due to having dementia. They get her involved in lots of activities which she thoroughly enjoys. After my grandad passed my granny required a lot of support which the staff were able to provide excellently. My granny feels comfortable and has been able to build relationships with each of them and smile again.
My grandparents both moved into Harrier House following my grandad sadly being on end of life care and unable to care for my Granny with dementia. The whole team and staff were incredible and so supportive with the whole transition for both my grandparents and close family. We were all greatly supported in such a difficult and distressing time, with food being provided and care being provided to my grandparents so the family were able to spend precious, quality time with them both. There are so many activities for the residents to do and my granny immediately felt comfortable and was integrated and I know the love and care that was given to us meant the world to my grandad. Thank you all.
I cannot express enough gratitude for the compassionate care my father-in-law received in his final days and for the ongoing, loving support provided to his wife who has dementia. Every staff member was not only attentive but genuinely caring, treating both of them with dignity and respect. They made sure every need was met with patience and understanding and always kept us informed which brought our family great peace of mind. The environment is warm and welcoming, the team go above and beyond to make it feel like a true home.
The team at Harrier House are always very friendly and caring towards the residents and their friends and families.
This care home is a caring and professional-run home. Our mum has been in here since 2021 and tells us that the staff are all friendly and treat her well. She loves the food and enjoys some of the activities (ie. carpet bowls) but can't join in others (ie. knitting, bingo etc) as her eyesight is not too good now. But all in all, she is being looked after and is safe and warm so the family can relax in the knowledge that this is happening. Well done Harrier House!
My brother became a resident in March 2024. He is diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia. Prior to this, I had cared for him in his home, visiting on a daily basis for basic needs and care. However, due to him living alone, he soon became melancholy and depressive. His short-term memory is only 15 to 30 minutes. He had contact with me by phone and rang 40 to 50 times a day asking the same questions and needing reassurance. Due to his short memory, he believed he spent all of his time alone. He initially went to Harrier House for 2 weeks of respite care in March. There was an immediate improvement in his mental state due to the care and attention paid to him by the staff. 6 months on and the care remains excellent. Residents engage in various activities and staged events to involve family, which certainly serves to improve my brother's well-being and have no doubt staved off any fall into depression. I can't thank the management and staff enough for all the effort put into the care they give him.
My dad recently took ill with a suspected mini-stroke. The staff were amazing. They called straight away for an ambulance. They contacted me also and a member of staff stayed with my dad until the ambulance arrived. 40 minutes later the ambulance arrived and they took my dad to our local hospital. It was confirmed a transient ischaemic attack and without their care and attention to duty, things could have been worse.
