View Full Details of Heathlands HouseMy friend has been in the home for a few months, it is a lovely place with lovely people. I can't think of a better home for her, the food is great. It is clean and smells nice everywhere. 5 stars for everything.
Wonderful place for your loved ones! Always welcoming, very clean, always a fun activity going on. Very friendly staff.
I have been invited by my dearest friend on the 20th of December to attend the care homes Winter Wonderland event. I must admit it has been a pleasure. The staff were so welcoming and warm on arrival and so careful with everyone. I felt part of a family group gathering, not complete strangers and it has been so lovely to see everyone so happy and relaxed. Thank you for a wonderful day!
Heathlands House Care Home is truly a remarkable place, where the well being and comfort of the residents is clearly the top priority. From the moment you step inside you are welcomed by a warm, inviting atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The staff at Heathlands House are exceptional, they are not only highly professional but also genuinely caring, always going above and beyond to ensure that each resident feels valued and supported. The home itself is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering a homely environment.
My husband told me frequently how happy he was at Heathlands House, and how lucky he felt to be there. "The staff are kind and the food is good." he would say. I would endorse his comment fully. The staff are unfailingly cheerful and helpful, if something needs doing they go out of their way to do it at once. Everyone gives 150%, the management is highly approachable and the atmosphere could not be warmer or more friendly. We never regretted choosing this as the care home for him.
My wife was given excellent care by a dedicated and friendly team of multinational carers. However, my request to have a bed with bedrails was initially ignored, as the assessor said there was a danger of her climbing over the rails. She has never done this in 5 years of short stays in care homes and the first night she fell out of the bed and had to move rooms to where a railed bed was available. She also received little exercise on the first floor (I heard ground floor residents invited to take part in sessions) but respect she was on the dementia floor, where there was also no chance of a lucid conversation at meal times. My wife is only suffering from memory loss and is quite compos mentis. Finally, I passed on requests for a chiropody visit but this did not happen. So, overall, the standard of care was fine at base level but the extras we might expect for £3920 were missing. We were even asked to provide incontinence pads and medication (which I supplied in full) tendered without explanation or consultation.
Amazing cakes always available, especially like the recipe book on display, great idea and I often take a photo so I can have a go at making at home. My lovely dad also really enjoys the cake as a special treat along with a hot chocolate. Thank you team!
Mum has been a resident at Heathlands House for nearly 2 years. We couldn't be happier with the care, every member of staff goes out of their way to meet mum's needs and improve her quality of life. The home provides a safe and welcoming environment and we're very grateful that mum is so well looked after.
My father has now been a resident at Heathlands House for just over a year. He settled quickly and has been very well cared for. The staff are clearly committed, thoughtful and caring. Communication with me has been sensitive, timely and clear. The facilities are open, inviting and very well maintained. In summary, we have been very pleased with your service and have already recommended Heathlands House to several friends and relations. Thanks to all.
I come to visit my friend at least once a month and from the moment I walk into Heathlands House I'm made to feel welcome by the staff, the building is always so clean and smells so fresh. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The chefs outdo themselves with the food, it's outstanding! I highly rate Heathlands House. Ten out of ten.
My aunt arrived at the home having fractured her hip. She was unable to walk and was quite confused by the fall, the surgery, the anaesthetic and the move from her home to the hospital to care home. By the end of her 3-month stay, she was back to her normal self, or even better than she was at her own home just before the fall. She was able to walk, thanks to the excellent physiotherapy, she was socialising around the lunch and supper table, she was whizzing around in the wheelchair, and even had a much-needed haircut. She really enjoyed the lovely garden, sitting out in the sun over the summer with a cup of tea and a piece of cake. She thoroughly enjoyed the food - home-cooked and ample in portions. The room was a lovely large size with good en suite facilities. Visiting was at any time. She only left to go and live with a relative.
All the staff are gentle, patient and kind with an understanding of the difficulties of Mum's Alzheimer's condition. Heathlands is comfortable with a nice garden that we always use during visits. We have spent enjoyable morning sitting in the shade on sunny and warms days. Thank you to everyone at Heathlands.
Very happy with my partner's stay. Food and accommodation were of a good standard. Staff supportive and helpful and caring.
I absolutely cannot thank this care home enough for the care that they gave my 86-year-old mother suffering from dementia. The staff were considerate and kind and so easy to talk to. My mother had lost her husband 18 months previously and was never the same again. I had not seen her smile in all that time but the care home gave me a book of photos after she passed away, and she was smiling on every single one. The activities organised for the clients are first-rate. I participated in a music therapy session with my mum and other residents. I don't know who got the most fun, me or Mum! When Mum passed away the staff were absolutely fantastic, they came in small groups to pay their respects, it pains to write this because it brings it all back, but very very very well done Heathlands House. Words can never adequately say how grateful I am to all who were part of Mum's care team.
I found myself in a difficult situation where I had to find a care home for my elderly aunt following the death of my uncle. Heathlands House was helpful and understanding from our very first meeting. The welcome and warm atmosphere on my initial visit reassured me that my aunt would be cared for in this lovely care home. My aunt soon settled in, if there were difficulties or concerns, the staff listened and were swift at resolving the problem. All staff were caring, polite and helpful. What a great team from management, nurses, carers, enrichment and entertainment staff, housekeepers and carers. I could not have picked a better place. Her last 3 months were spent in a comfortable, clean and happy environment.
I moved both my mum and dad to Heathlands in November 2023. I have found Heathlands House to be a caring environment for them both. Staff are friendly, thoughtful and responsive, and work very hard. The home is welcoming, always clean and buzzing with activities to keep residents busy. We couldn't have chosen a better home. Sadly it's only Mum there now but she is living her best life after being housebound for many years.
The chef At Heathlands and his kitchen staff do such a wonderful job. The food is nutritious, varied and appetizing. The chef strives to accommodate the special requests of individual residents whenever possible. He is always open to feedback and checks in with residents daily who seem to enjoy his visits to the dining rooms. Oh, and the cakes are fantastic!
My husband was transferred to Heathlands house after a spell in hospital. I had been coping with him at home as Alzheimer's progressed over the past five years and by this time he was doubly incontinent. The care he received at Heathlands was amazing. Everyone greeted him with a smile and a pat on the shoulder. He also had excellent nursing care and we, as a family, were always informed of any change in his daily plan. We visited frequently and often spoke with the families of other residents who were equally happy with the standard of care at Heathlands House. The only slight downside was that occasionally the laundry got clothes muddled, and we would find that my husband was wearing something we did not recognise! However, this did not detract from the compassion and kindness with which he was treated on a day-to-day basis. My husband died on July 1st this year. He was not in hospital, which he would have hated, and he was not in pain, for which I am eternally grateful.
The staff is uniformly helpful and friendly on my visits. The premises are very attractive. My friend's room is pleasant and has garden access, although she requires help with her wheelchair.
My husband has been in Heathlands House Care home for respite. He then was admitted to the nursing wing after getting Covid on Feb 2024 as we knew it was the best place for him. He was familiar with the staff and carers. The food is excellent and he eats very well. Lots of choice and delicious.
