View Full Details of Camberwell Lodge Care & Nursing HomeMy mum was reluctant to move into a care home but had to for extra support. Camberwell Lodges team went above and beyond to welcome her. She made some friends and even took part in activities to my surprise. The place is spotless and everyone is friendly. I would move in to if I could.
The management and all staff are absolutely 100% brilliant. I cannot fault whatsoever. They looked after my cousin, outstanding could not ask for more. And they also looked after me as I travelled from Bristol. I stayed 5 days to be with my cousin, I had a bed, 3 meals and coffee when I needed. This home is 100% a credit to you. Keep doing what you do. 10000000% perfect. Thank you all so much.
A close friend of mine was a resident in this care home for just under a month and I found the home of a very high standard. The home and facilities were both beautiful and spotlessly clean, my friend was expertly looked after and treated with great care and attention. The staff built good relationships with everyone who came to visit and made every effort to make everybody comfortable, constantly offered us the chance to eat and drink. It was nice to see all residents being treated with the same attention to detail. It was all very reassuring to know as obviously it is a very stressful and sometimes traumatic time and knowing my friend was cared for with great dignity was a great comfort.
Very supportive management. Amazing carers and nursing teams, not just for residents but families as well. The support team are great thinking up things to keep residents happy, also taking them on days out.
My uncle was in the care home for 2 years until he died. I found the care of him was excellent. He enjoyed his time here. Everyone of the staff treated him with respect and kindness at all times.
I visited my aunt just before Christmas and as usual the home was looking pristine and the staff are so nice and kindly and, although my aunt is sadly no longer her old self, I know she is being very well cared for by the home’s wonderful staff.
My stepdad became a resident in October 2023. I have nothing but praise for the care and attention he received trying to help him settle in. He has since continued to be cared for with the utmost respect and kindness.
My mother has been looked after at Camberwell Lodge since January 2023; she has dementia, very limited mobility, and her powers of speech are waning. I visit 4 or 5 times a week at different times, and it is a great comfort to see that whatever the day of the week or time of the day, she is always warm, clean, and well-looked after. The carers are so good with her, really kind, making jokes, and she absolutely beams at them. During the past year I've chatted a lot with the receptionists, with the well-being coordinators, the customer relations manager, the kitchen and laundry staff, and they have also been very welcoming and friendly to me, my husband, brother and another relative who visits. Her room is lovely, and the weekly hairdo is great. I wish the Lodge had more frequent use of a minibus for outings, especially for wheelchair users like my mother, but that is the only criticism I would make. It is a great relief to have her nearby and in good hands at Camberwell Lodge.
The staff are friendly and helpful. They are kind and caring and also treat residents with dignity. If you have concerns about care of your loved one they will resolve, if possible, or suggest an alternative. I have no concerns about the care they give my mother.
My mother-in-law died here this afternoon. I feel the need to report on the kindness and thoughtfulness we have all received. From a care standard point of view, every time we have visited, unannounced, she was clean, tidy, warm and well tucked up, with lighting/tv appropriately set. They cared for her, and us, with the utmost kindness and sensitivity.
My mum is a resident at Camberwell Lodge. I’m so very grateful my mum is in a safe and happy place now. I’ve seen massive improvements in my mum's well-being since arriving at Camberwell Lodge. I don’t worry when I leave after visiting as I know she is in safe hands with all the fabulous staff there. Her personal care is attended to throughout the day along with staff taking her to chat with other residents, also, my mum's room is cleaned every day along with her shower room too. Nothing is too much for any member of staff. It’s so nice to see all the staff smiling and greeting visitors when I arrive. I would also like to mention the customer relations manager. Very kind and reassuring when I spoke to her about my mum. There’s not one thing I can fault. I'm very grateful for all the support and help given to my mum by all staff at Camberwell Lodge.
Our experience has been excellent, my aunt was admitted from hospital where she had lost mobility and had become incontinent. Within a matter of weeks, both have been regained and she is enjoying good nutrition and personal care, including a professional hairdresser, and enjoys the therapeutic activities she attends on a daily basis. The family have been welcomed to join her for meals in very pleasant surroundings. We would particularly like to thank one member of staff and the Customer Relations Managers for all their support help and advice.
My mum had a two week respite stay at Camberwell Lodge following the death of my dad. Mum has advanced Alzheimer's. I thought Camberwell Lodge was excellent and I visited every day over the two weeks so had plenty of chances to see things in action. The staff are kind and good-humoured. The place is bright and airy and thoughtfully designed. Mum had a ground-floor room facing the garden with her own patio table and chairs. She enjoyed the weekly yoga class, a visiting entertainer and pizza-making. She thought the food was great, especially the profiteroles. I was very impressed by the people, staff and residents, the level of care and the general buzz of the place. The staff looked after my mum, who was dealing with a great deal of change and also supported me in my efforts to support Mum following Dad's death. The Dementia Nurse was attentive and wise and the customer relations manager was always a phone call away. Highly recommended.
My aunt has been at Camberwell Lodge since December 2022. The staff and management at the home have been great, they have understood my aunt's ways and ensured she is listened to and involved. As the next of kin, I have found the management of the home informed and understanding. The customer relationship manager has gone out of her way to communicate regularly and ensure I know how my aunt is feeling. My aunt's room is clean, modern and has everything she needs including a fantastic shower. The food is good and plentiful, she enjoys her cups of tea and cake. She has even managed to put on some weight which is hugely beneficial. She has settled in quicker than I expected and seems happier than she has been in years.
My mother-in-law has been at Camberwell Lodge for a month. The home is spotlessly clean, the staff can’t do enough for you, the food seems to be going down well and her room feels like a nice hotel! Such a change from the hospital environment. In the month my mother-in-law has been at Camberwell Lodge she has been given her dignity back, she looks and sounds so much better. The staff make time to address her needs, she is clean and well fed, she is engaging in many of the daily activities and generally getting some quality of life back. She has been seen by the Lodge’s GP, had her hair cut, been encouraged to get out of bed and take part. Her grandchildren enjoy visiting. I can’t thank everyone enough. A real find, so much nicer than any of the other nursing homes I looked at.
I am so pleased to have found Camberwell Lodge Care Home for my dad who is in his 90's. The care home have taken the time to understand my dad's needs and preferences and the staff (carers, nurses and activities staff) look after him very well. Finding a care home can also be a difficult time for the family members too - which is why I have been so grateful to the customer relationship manager who has provided me with support and reassurance too. Dad's room is lovely - spacious, comfortable and decorated to a very high standard. The food is great and I especially look forward to visiting dad and enjoying the delicious array of cake and coffee with him. The cheerful and welcoming reception staff interact with the residents too and are a pleasure to engage with. It is a relief to see dad settled and happy.
Camberwell Lodge Care & Nursing Home is close to us so we were keeping an eye on it while it was being built. The fact that it was a new, fresh building and decorated well was an appeal. While making the choice about whether or not Camberwell Lodge would be right for Mum while organising her arrival (at short notice) and settling her in, the customer relations manager, in particular, was brilliant. She was able to look after me as much as Mum and made the whole process easy and friendly. There have been some teething problems - while they work out Mum's needs/behaviours and while the new staff, new building and new care home work things out. But this has all been handled well. All staff (carers, reception, kitchen, garden, office...) interact with residents which helps to make it feel like a friendly hotel (which is often where Mum thinks she is). Mum has been at Camberwell Lodge for over three months and she is comfortable and content. And I know she is safe.
I thank God that my sister is now a resident in Camberwell Nursing Lodge, she had been moved from two previous homes that were dreadful. The building itself is beautiful but more important are the amazing staff, professional, kind, caring and very supportive, I would like to thank each and every member for all that they do for my sister and the family.
