After moving my mum from a large group care home to Harbour House the difference in her care and appearance has been remarkable. The staff are so attentive and genuinely caring, food is to her liking and activities are a central part of her day. Cleanliness is first class. The home is welcoming and friendly in a great location with loads of parking.

Our dad has stayed at Harbour House for nearly two years. We pop in to see Dad at all times of the day, which is great because it gives us a full view of the activities and care that he receives. The staff are always attentive and caring and also take the time to listen about any concerns/worries we may have. It's lovely to see Dad has put weight on and is taking full advantage of the great meals. He goes out and about, to pubs, shops, the local barbers, out on the bike. It's nice to see he is happy here at Harbour House.

I didn’t think I’d ever be writing a review for a care home but due to health and age, my mum moved into Harbour House in January. She’s so much happier with people to talk to and activities keeping her busy throughout the week. The staff are wonderful and very caring. I know she’s being well looked after 24 hours a day which is peace of mind. My rating for value is a little lower but that’s just personal as it would be the same for any.

Please be aware. This place is extremely poorly managed, all they are clearly after is filling the rooms and getting the money in the bank, understaffed and lack of training. Please do not be fooled by the glitz and glamour it is all for show. The management or lack of management is shocking. Please do your homework before committing your loved ones. Do not be fooled like we were.

The staff never appear stressed and that is good for the residents and visitors. Access is good by public transport and there is always parking available. It is a bustling area and that gives some interest.

Over the last 6 months, I have seen a massive improvement in the care home. I feel this has been underpinned by ensuring their staff have had up to date training and the management are supporting the staff. The home has supported my mum and worked with me to meet my mother's needs e.g. raised toilet seat, extra grip handles, shower chair. Bringing in clinical leads has also helped. The activities team are very enthusiastic.

The care our any receives is excellent. It is not only the necessary care she receives; they all show such care and empathy for her overall needs. We often go in, and a member of staff is sitting with her (holding her hand). They go over and above in all aspects of her care. They are in constant contact, letting us know how she is. The home is spotless and to a very high standard. We cannot thank or praise them enough for everything.

My mum has been in Harbour House for over a year now and is thriving in the environment under the wonderful care provided by the excellent staff. She was getting very anxious at home and it was becoming increasingly difficult for me to take care of her but she is now more settled and enjoys the various activities and company of the other residents and the staff. The food is excellent and she has put on weight since she moved in. The home is always clean and tidy and I am kept updated regularly about Mum. The staff also went above and beyond on Mum's recent birthday to make her feel special. I would highly recommend this care home.

My aunt has been a resident for about 8 months in her care has been exceptional. She was quite mobile and very aware when she first entered Harbour House but unfortunately has deteriorated rapidly. Thankfully the staff are amazing and have shown her care and kindness second to none. They are truly inspirational and have given us as a family guidance and advice constantly. My aunt is treated as a friend and they are consistently popping in to see her, even when we visit, for a chat and just to make sure she's OK. She is treated with dignity and kindness all times.

My wife and I are reassured by the level of care provided for my mother by the staff at Harbour House in view of the physical and mental impairments which she has. The staff are very friendly, helpful and caring and the premises are always clean and tidy. My mother is content at Harbour House and appreciates the help and care she is given by the staff.

My Husband moved into Harbour House on December 23rd 2021 and has settled very well thanks to the help and support of all the staff. Having spent a considerable period of time in hospital, the transition to such a caring environment has benefitted my husband immediately. I feel immensely reassured by him being in such a safe, caring and comfortable place.

Our dad has been living in Harbour House for a couple of months now, and we as a family could not be happier with the care and support provided by the team. The facilities are excellent and Dads dietary requirements are catered for at each mealtime. There are various activities planned throughout the week and residents have 1:1 time with staff too, should they wish. Dad also has a wonderful view of the harbour from his room!

Our wee Pops joined the family at Harbour House at the end of November. Family and friends have been very impressed, not only with the surroundings but every single member of staff we've interacted with. Couldn't be more helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful rooms, dining room, sitting rooms, TV rooms. We're always made to feel very welcome and the kettle is on before we can even get to Pops' room with a lovely array of cakes and biscuits. He's even had his hair cut in the lovely salon and his toenails cut within just a couple of weeks. Doctor has been called when necessary and we're always kept informed, even with minor ailments. His room is filled with lots of his pictures from home. We have complete peace of mind knowing Pops is being well cared for and will settle in time with the help of the lovely staff. The manager is wonderful as are all the other staff looking after him. Would highly recommend having your loved ones cared for here.

We are absolutely delighted our Dad has settled really well. The staff are very attentive and professional. Everyone is so welcoming. The food is fresh and Dad has gained weight which is fantastic. We can’t thank the staff enough for going above and beyond delivering great care. It is very reassuring to know our Dad is in good hands and his care needs are being met! Well done to all the hardworking team.

Mum has been at Harbour House for several months now, and in her own words, 'they [the staff] can't do enough for you'. Since she arrived at Harbour House, mum is much happier than she had been for a long time. She looks much more like her old self and is visibly thriving. She does, of course, get fed up being restricted to being at Harbour House but that is no reflection on the care home – just her frustration at her own condition and the limits that her condition imposes on her. From my own side of things, Harbour House staff are always extremely polite and helpful. The home is always immaculate and the staff are attentive. Knowing mum is in a safe, caring environment has allowed the rest of the family to sleep easier at night.

I would highly recommend the care home, as since my mum went in I have complete peace of mind regarding her care needs. Staff are very caring and helpful, food prepared to high standards and covers all dietary requirements. The care home itself is a new modern facility, kept to a high standard of decor and cleanliness. My mum has settled in very quickly due to 24-hour care and enjoys the company of staff and residents, especially at the regular group activities.

My mum left her home after 64 years of staying there. It was a sad day for all however Mum was given a very warm welcome from the staff. Mum had made up her mind after her only visit to Harbour House that this was the place she wanted to stay. Since moving into the home it has taken Mum some time to adjust as she has lived alone for more than 29 years. She enjoys her chats with the residents and the care and nursing staff have been very kind and attentive to her. Knowing Mum is being well cared for gives me peace of mind. There have been quite a few changes in management staff however the current manager is introducing good changes, e.g I can log on each night to see what my Mum has done that day in activities. I am always made welcome by the staff.

My mum moved into Harbour House February 2021, as this was during lockdown it was very difficult for her and her family. The staff at Harbour House were fantastic in keeping us updated and made my mum feel very welcome. All the staff are so friendly and approachable, nothing’s ever too much for them. The home is lovely and clean and I believe the food is very good.

The management and all the staff have done a great job of helping Mum settle into her new home. She says it is like being in a five-star hotel with all the lovely food. She is really looking forward to moving to her new room. It is a great location. It was her birthday this month and they made it a very special day for us both. I would recommend this care home very highly and have been trying to get some of Mum's old neighbours interested.

My husband has had wonderful personal care during the early months of this home's establishment. He has settled in as a result of the dedication each of his carers has shown. I have also benefited from their consideration and support. The home is in a fabulous location, which will offer us so much more once lockdown is over. Everyone has done their best in the circumstances. It hasn't been easy for anybody, let's face it.
