My father became a resident on the Dementia ward at Upton Bay Care home in March 2024 up until his death in January this year. I have to say that the carehome team were all amazing and you truly know that your loved one could not be in a better place Thank Upton Bay . the manager and his team go out of their way to help you and are always on hand if they are needed . My brother and myself cannot thank them enough for all their support that they have shown us and our father . Just Brilliant 1st class service day in day out.

My family and I cannot express out gratitude to all the staff for their care of my dad while he was staying with you. The food was excellent and dad thoroughly enjoyed his day trips out and the activities he did. He also enjoyed his birthday party with you. The rooms and facilities were outstanding. Absolutely no complaints - THANK YOU!

This is the second occasion on which our mother has come into Barchester Upton Bay Care Home for respite care, following falls and hospital surgery and treatments, and then a carefully planned return to her wardened flat. It was, therefore, so heartwarming and helpful to be welcomed back by familiar faces and a homely environment this time. The entire team at Upton have not only supported and encouraged our 98-year-old mother with her determination to regain as much independence as possible but also supported our family with their time, understanding, information and professional advice, to help us plan the ongoing care for her. This can be a daunting prospect and emotional rollercoaster made more bearable thanks to this dedicated team.

The staff are proactive and caring. My relative is clean and well-presented whenever I visit. She has dementia and seems very contented. The home is clean and everyone is very friendly.

My grandad hasn't be at the care home for a long time but so far, the care home has been excellent. They have really helped him settle in and adjust. The care home is always clean and well-presented. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. They have encouraged Grandad to interact and socialise with the other residents, there's always plenty going on to keep him occupied with a range of activities or day trips.

My aunt is happy here. She is always looking very well cared for. The home is warm and comfortable as well as very stylishly furnished and decorated. All the staff are friendly, helpful and quick to respond. In particular, I appreciate how well-groomed my aunt is - which shows that the care staff take the trouble not only to do basic washing and dressing but also to ensure she is still the glamorous, immaculate lady which she always has been.

Our mother has lived at Barchester Upton Bay Care Home for almost two years. We, as a family, have been impressed by the constant high standards throughout the home and all its departments. Our mother is happy for her continued residency at Upton Bay and we all look forward to another year of good care, food, activities and company.

Barchester Upton Bay Care Home ladies (and gentlemen) are always so friendly, patient, understanding, nothing is too much for them, that is why I hope to stay much longer than a day, perhaps next year sometime. As an afterthought, the food is very good, especially as I am a person who loves my food - and it is good. All in all, a lovely place to spend your lonely days, whether it be long or short.

After arriving at Barchester Upton Bay Care Home, I immediately thought this place is so much more than just a care home, the staff were amazing and so knowledgeable and couldn't do enough for you. I experienced the food and it was fantastic, better than some fine dining events I've been to. All in all, it's truly five-star and that is down to the staff and management.

Barchester Upton Bay Care Home in Hamworthy is a very modern and well-presented home. In the last two months, my aunt's health and well-being have greatly improved. My aunt is particularly enjoying the meals and the social contact as events are organised regularly. We have both found the staff to be helpful, kind and attentive. Both of us would recommend Upton Bay!

Mum has only been in Barchester Upton Bay Care Home for a couple of weeks on this visit but has previously spent four weeks in residency. Both times, we have found the home to be welcoming, clean and a lovely place to stay. Mum is full of enthusiasm for the arranged activities that are available. Most importantly, Mum is a big favourite of the food on offer - always a good choice of meals available. Overall, could not recommend the home highly enough. Thanks to all the staff.

The environment is beautiful, more luxury hotel than care home. But beyond that, the staff are superb. Super friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic!

I have been very impressed by everyone at Barchester Upton Bay Care Home regarding their care for my dad since he has been a new resident. The activities, food and general care for individual residents is second to none and I can relax knowing my dad's needs are being taken care of.

From the day I went in to look at Barchester Upton Bay Care Home, we have had nothing but good experiences, from the staff to the food. Upton Bay is a very happy place, so warm and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. This is the best thing I have ever done for my dad, I wish we had done it years ago.

The staff are very friendly and attentive. They are really sharp when it comes to the needs of the residents. They are very kind and patient under difficult circumstances. There is always a good reception for those visiting their relatives. The coffee and cakes are excellent.

This is a first class care home. The staff, facilities, service and events all contribute to make the experience as good as possible for the residents. My mother has dementia and moving her into Upton Bay was initially a difficult decision, however it quickly became clear that she was in the best place. The staff made the process smooth. The range of activities put on for the residents is fantastic and the events that involve the local community and families are wonderful.

I am staying in Barchester Upton Bay Care Home whilst my flat is being repaired. I am fortunate that my family researched thoroughly as I am now 'celebrating life' and hoping that the builders take their time as I am benefitting so much from my stay. When I am at home I do not socialise but now I am making friends, joining in activities and going on bus trips. I have even had my nails painted, my hair done and enjoyed the chiropodist. I have a wonderful feeling of well-being, I feel I have a new identity. I love it here.

My relative was resident for more than one year at Barchester Upton Bay Care Home, whilst suffering with dementia. We were very impressed with the care she received, she was treated well with dignity and respect and as an individual at all times. Her preferences were adhered to she was offered a wide variety of food and drinks -always of the highest quality. There was an extensive program of activities on offer that catered for the diverse residents and their interests. These activities often included relatives and friends of residents, dog shows ,quizzes and musical evenings, through these events relationships with staff members were fostered creating a stronger caring network for the resident. Staff were very responsive to any queries, promptly arranging to meet relatives, to discuss any aspects of care. Staff liaised well with outside agencies, district nurses, physios etc, to ensure residents medical needs were promptly attended to. Outstanding work from all staff, well done.
