View Full Details of Bishop's Cleeve Care HomeThe care + understanding of all the residents are 100%. All the staff work so hard + it shows in the Home. It's a beautiful home inside & out.
The building and facilities are excellent. Headquarters office, account department - very poor service! Three months to arrange direct debit is bordering on incompetent! Care home manager retention has been poor but does appear to be better now. Access for relatives to the building is poorly managed - this needs sorting out, standing in a cold entrance until a staff member wanders by is not good! This is with the relative access code.
My grandma has recently moved to the home and I visited her for the first time over the weekend. I was very pleased with how she has settled in and by the overall feel of the place and how nice and clean it was. It seems she is enjoying the activities put on by the staff and said the food is very good too!
Very friendly and welcoming staff. All residents seem happy and settled.
I can't believe the turnaround that the manager and her team have made - they have put Bishop's Cleeve Care Home back up there with the best in Gloucestershire. Thank you for all your hard work!
Always a smile and a welcome from staff. The home feels like "home", furnishings and colours restful. Really enjoy the singer who comes and entertains us! Residents are well looked after. We are welcome to join in all the events which is great fun and to share altogether. Thank you to the lovely staff.
My mum is very well cared for at Bishop's Cleeve Care Home. The staff are exceptional. They are kind, caring and considerate and nothing is ever too much trouble when meeting the needs of the residents. The home is a very happy home and I am always made to feel very welcome when I visit. My mum enjoys joining in with the activities which are fun and varied. The facilities are very good and the home is clean and tidy.
I have visited my friend a few times now and have always found the staff very welcoming. The whole atmosphere gives me a sense of confidence that my friend is well looked after.
The staff are very caring, superb meals, the decor is high standard. Whilst there are regular activities for residents, it would be nice there were more for the visually impaired. Sometimes there is quite a wait to be let out of the building - not always enough staff. A bell would be helpful.
My mother-in-law initially came in for respite care but due to her dementia, she has stayed full-time. From the initial discussion to moving in we could not fault the whole team who oversaw the process and welcomed Mum into the home. She settled in very quickly and now calls it home. Her health has improved with regular food and correct medication. It is great that she gets lovely human contact which she missed living alone.
My mother came to the home on three weeks respite initially. I have found all the staff very professional from the first assessment right up to date. My mother settled straight away so stayed in the home when the respite finished. She is now eating properly and taking all her medication thanks to her care. I was worried that she would not be happy but I have had reassurance and answers to all my questions from the care home staff. The home is exceedingly clean, always smells nice and is very welcoming. My mother is very fussy but she is happy with her room and surroundings which helps me not to worry. She has made friends and is comfortable with all the staff.
My mum has been here two years. Initially, it was very good then the management changed and it went downhill drastically. We now have a new manager and the change has been rapid and effective. Morale is high, carers are genuinely happy in their work. Mum has flourished. A sense of family and community is evident. Management is always available to listen and tailor individual requirements. It's a beautiful home, light, bright and without that "smell" many homes have. Parking is easy. There will always be "fine-tuning" as circumstances change but Mum and I are "happy bunnies", she's safe and nurtured. Keep up the good work.
My mother has been in the care home a few weeks. The staff are very caring and professional which has helped her settle in very well. I am very pleased with the way she is being looked after, there are many activities for her to join and enjoy.
I am the son-in-law of a resident in Bishop's Cleeve Care Home. The home is well managed and staff care for mum-in-law with respect and kindness. We are kept fully informed and all questions are answered promptly.
Mum is very happy and content in the care home and this is due to the exceptional care she is given by the lovely hard-working staff they work as a whole team. The en-suite bedroom is always clean and tidy. The menu is varied with a good choice of options. Activities/entertainment are good for residents with family always welcome.
My mother-in-law has been a resident of this care home for over two and a half years. In that time, her mobility and mental capacity have declined but probably in line with someone of her advanced years. Despite this, the staff have always been very helpful and caring. Her care continues to be tailored to her increased needs. Knowing that she is being very well cared for, in a comfortable environment, gives us peace of mind.
I was warmly welcomed and appreciated my second respite stay. All the care I received was good and call bells were promptly answered. I was, however, disappointed to find the dining room and food presentation below the standard I remembered from my previous stay. Tables were not prepared properly and on one occasion both main courses were put onto one plate, meatballs with gravy and tomato risotto. The soups were always good and served very hot. There appeared to be a lack of cutlery and crockery resulting in sandwiches being served on hot plates and cups being put on plates instead of saucers. ... .
We arranged for Mum to spend two weeks respite care at Bishops Cleeve. Prior to her stay, we were shown around and were made to feel very welcome. The place is spotless, the staff are all extremely kind and encouraging, and the people staying there all spoke very highly of the care they received. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They provided a lovely room for her, and I have to say, the food looked very tasty, served in an attractive dining room with views across the garden. There were activities going on in the foyer, which were very well received by those who opted in and the sumptuous cake and refreshments on offer added to the whole experience. The care home is peaceful and beautifully kept, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others - I would definitely be happy to go there myself when the time comes!
Mum is enjoying her second spell of respite care at Bishop's Cleeve Care Home. She was welcomed back with open arms and staff remembered little details about her which made her return to care a pleasant and stress-free experience. The food is delicious and Mum is really enjoying her meals, having had a really poor appetite at home. The activities coordinator is excellent and residents look forward to the wonderful themed events, the next one being a ball!
I was brought to Bishop's Cleeve Care Home for post-operative respite care. Good staff, excellent building and decor, nice garden and facilities. All members of staff were caring and very professional. I would not hesitate to book another stay and to recommend the home to others.
