View Full Details of WykewoodWith a father who has complex dementia and Alzheimer's, he has been at wykewood for over 4 years . The care for him has been excellent, the facility ,the understanding of his and our family's needs, has been second to none. A special call out to all the carers , their patience, loving and understanding despite my fathers challenging behaviour at times is quite incredible - as a family we know he cannot be in a better place. Having had experience of at least 5 other care homes, Wykewood is head and shoulders above the rest.
My dad has been a resident now for quite a few months and I can honestly say the staff have been amazing. Dementia is a horrible disease but all the staff treat my father with the utmost care and respect that we as a family find so heartwarming. Keep up the fantastic work you do. from all our family a massive thank you.
The manager was absolutely amazing. She supported my family through a really difficult time as my mum died due to dementia. The staff were so caring and I can’t thank them enough. She has turned the place around.
All staff - nursing, housekeeping, maintenance and admin - are always welcoming to me, my family and my dog. They treat us with the same love, care and respect as they give to our relative. Although our relative is unable to express his views verbally regarding his surroundings and care, we feel that he knows and appreciates the love, care and respect given to him by all levels of staff. Regular staff on the unit who know and understand his day-to-day and hour-to-hour needs are a credit to them. They show empathy, love and care at all times. Numerous staff changes have caused added stress to these valued carers.
I called to see my partner for the first time on Saturday 2nd July 2022 since her move from another home. The home is a lovely newly built home, very spacious inside the rooms, corridor and sitting room. The first thing that hit me was how wonderful all the staff were to me, but also to my partner. I could tell straight away how happy she was, not like the last home she was in. So I am really pleased that my partner is at Wykewood and would like to say thank you to the staff on my first visit. Thanks.
My brother was in a care home for four years prior to him being transferred to Wykewood. This previous home was not very good for him at all. My family and I were a bit unsure about him being placed miles away but now he's settled in we as a family and also my brother are really pleased he moved here. The staff are brilliant. I can't thank them enough.
It's a relief to know my brother is being looked after properly. The last place was horrible and we didn't like leaving him. The staff are lovely and always welcoming and they look after my brother well. I don't drive and struggle sometimes to get here but I know that I can phone and check how he is. I know he can be hard work but at the end of the day, he is still my brother. The staff are ace.
Since my husband moved into Wykewood he has been treated like family and with the utmost dignity. The staff are wonderful and caring, not just to him but also to me and our family. Each time I leave after a visit I feel 100% safe in the knowledge he is safe and well cared for. Thank you to the wonderful, hardworking and efficient staff at Wykewood.
