View Full Details of Montague House Care HomeNeeded care after operation - live alone in area so convenient. All very pleasant and friendly staff and management. Only saw ground floor rooms and facilities; ate my meals in my room by choice. Food good and varied - but with the huge charge per week felt could have fresh fruit rather than tinned! All staff lovely and helpful; washing (clothes) facility very useful. Perhaps not the best toilet/washing facility for someone with a serious leg operation on two crutches, felt insecure in shower facility and bed uncomfortable. Lovely care home, not perhaps right choice for my aftercare but convenient.
Can't praise this home enough. My daughter has had visits to many care homes in recent months and all have failed on multiple issues. This home was able to provide a first class service to my daughter. She got her meds on time, She got great care from both the carers and homemakers. She was very well supported by the Nursing Team and the Management Team Her Diatary needs were met. And most important to us they put my daughter's needs first, as an example the chef noticed she had not been eating an evening meal and came to see her to make sure if was a problem with the food or something else. This is a first for us and one of the many many small things that made the stay for my daugter best in class.
So pleased my sister and I found Montague Car eHome for our Mum, the staff are so warm and friendly towards their residents and their families. When we leave the care home after our visits, we leave knowing our Mum is well cared for. Thank you, Montague.
Just want to say how happy myself and my husband were with the care provided by the friendly and helpful staff whilst he was in respite while garage conservation works were taking place. The facilities are absolutely lovely and the location is ideal for myself especially as I was able to visit anytime which suited my shift work pattern.
My sister has just moved into Montague House. The staff have all been incredibly helpful and are all so friendly. Nothing has been too much trouble. My sister has severe hearing loss, is registered blind and has a terminal illness. Her needs therefore are great but everyone has made her feel very welcome. We her family know she will be safe and well looked after in the months to come.
My sister has just entered Montague House, she has special support needs due to disabilities. Everyone in the home has shown great professionalism and care in meeting her requirements. She has not yet taken part in the activities but the program looks interesting and varied although she may not be able to take part in all of them due to her disabilities. I feel it difficult to judge the value of money because my other sister deals with financial dealings and she has spent a few days there. Other residents also seem friendly and happy. Thank you!
I had the absolute pleasure of attending the food festival yesterday. It was fantastic to see all the residents enjoying themselves and being so well looked after. Everyone was working as a team to provide a spectacular afternoon and the entertainment was perfect. We also attend the dementia choir which is a huge success. Thank you so much.
Once in a while you come across a team of people who excel in everything they do. The team at Montague House are one such team. From the Home Manager, to the Clinical Manager, Relationship Manager, Nursing Manager and Night Manager, to the nursing staff and care staff, reception staff and business administration staff, not forgetting the chef, every single one of you worked with the utmost levels of professionalism, care and compassion in caring for our Dad, and for this we are extremely grateful. We cannot fault any aspect of our whole experience with Montague House and would wholly recommend Montague House to anyone looking to choose a residential or nursing home for a loved one. Believe me, this place is special, and should be on anyone's shortlist.
Having gotten to know my father since he moved into the care home in August 2023, staff manage him in a sympathetic and appropriate manner to deliver the level of care and support required. This can sometimes be challenging as he can be difficult and this changes from day to day, keeping the staff on 'their toes'. It is a credit to the staff who manage him, always keeping his best interests uppermost in delivering his care.
My nan is currently at Montague House. I’ve been thoroughly impressed from the minute she moved in. The care level has been great, the staff are always cheery and kind, and the quality of the facilities is amazing. I’m so glad we found such a lovely place for my nan to live. I couldn’t be happier!
father-in-law was very difficult in the reception area and became difficult to manage. Staff stepped in and managed the situation before it got out of hand. The staff were able to defuse the situation and calm him down.
Montague House is wonderful, not just because of the accommodation but because of the lovely staff - they care and that is the most important thing! The work can be challenging but the staff have unlimited patience and I have always seen residents treated with kindness and respect.
We have had nothing but a positive experience of the wonderful Montague House Care Home. Myself and my husband regularly visited our friend before he sadly passed away for a cup of tea and a slice of delicious cake that was always on offer for residents and their visitors. Montagu House is immaculately clean, the facilities are incredible, the communal areas impressive, and the meals served to our friend were first class. The staff were always so welcoming and our friend always talked about how they went out of their way to make sure he was comfortable. He was very happy there and often said he felt like he was on holiday as he was cared for so well by the amazing staff. I have had experience of other care homes over the years and I would not hesitate to recommend Montague House as first-rate!
My mother was at Montague House when she passed away. Everyone, including all the staff were cheerful and introduced themselves, it was a very friendly environment. My mum also felt well cared for and safe. My first communication was with the Regional Community Relations Lead who was very helpful and caring. She gave me the confidence so that I felt safe to leave my mum at Montague House.
The daughter of my stepfather booked him into Montague House Brampton for respite care, despite it being 180 miles away from his oncologist, meaning he was unable to attend crucial appointments. Whilst there, he contracted a severe infection and had to be hospitalised. On his discharge, he managed to book a private ambulance back home, but was in such a terrible state he died several days later. We found the management severely lacking in communication skills and any sort of empathy for my Mum who was distraught at having her husband of 25 years moved so far away from her. Please read the Care Quality Commission’s report which clearly states it requires improvement in safety and with how it is led. My advice would be that if you like gorging yourself on free cake it’s perfect, if you care about your loved one please, please do not send them here.
Montague House always feels warm and friendly. My mum particularly enjoys the varied activities and having coffee and cake in the Bistro area. She has been in Montague House for over six months now and her needs are well catered for by caring and friendly staff. It is reassuring for me to know that my mum is well entertained and kept occupied by a regular weekly programme. Overall we are very satisfied with Montague House and would recommend it.
My father came to stay at Montague House for respite care, initially for one month but stayed for two. Besides having him near to myself and my siblings and his grandchildren, it was an absolute pleasure to visit him at Montague House where the team are loving, kind and supportive. Dad sadly became very ill whilst at Montague House and was admitted to hospital but he did return briefly before going home to the north. We are grateful for the last few days and all the extra care he needed. Dad could not have been better looked after at Montague House where the management took on board some difficult family tensions and supported us all in what was an emotionally difficult time. I will miss Montague House very much - I spent many hours there not just with Dad but also getting to know other residents and their families. There is always a friendly welcome, a lovely coffee and even a piece of cake waiting for anyone who steps through the door.
When choosing a care home for my father-in-law, location was very important to us, as we would most likely be his only visitors. We were very impressed b the building, layout ad quality of furnishings and decor. At our initial meeting with family liaison, we were very reassured but the philosophy of the company, in particular, the homemaker ideal. All questions and concerns were dealt with with understanding, compassion and a reassuring level of knowledge and professionalism. We received a warm welcome from every member of staff on subsequent visits and, when we discovered the cost was exactly the same as other local homes, without full-time nursing care, our decision was made. Since my father-in-law arrived in early January, we have been delighted with the cate he has received. Every issue we have raised has been taken seriously and action taken to enhance his experience. He has settled incredibly well and e feel that this is due entirely to the friendliness and kindness of the staff.
Lovely, new care home. Still with growing pains with reference to staff (recruitment, ongoing training etc.) but making good progress. Key management and staff are excellent. Particularly strong on communication and engagement with relatives of residents. Quality of food is also above average as is the nursing care. Made to feel part of the family.
I have been very impressed by the care and understanding provided by the staff at Montague. My relative started at Montague for respite care after a sudden deterioration in her health, which required nursing intervention. Her health improved during respite, but she has decided that she would prefer to remain at Montague as a resident instead of returning home: the staff are extremely caring and thoughtful, the food is great, the en-suite facilities are very handy, and there are friends to be made over meals and at events. My relative has expressed the opinion that this scenario is a much better option than trying to struggle on alone in her own home. The staff have shown me that they are very aware of how to guide her through the emotional and psychological changes that are involved in such a decision, and I think that it is a great choice for her to make.
