View Full Details of Blythe Rose Specialist Dementia Care HomeMy Mom has been a resident at Blythe Rose since June 2024. I am eternally grateful for the care and support that all of the staff members provide to Mom, the other residents, our family and friends. As a healthcare professional myself I have high expectations of good care. In my opinion Blythe Rose Care Home exceeds this, their care is exceptional. They promote a quality of life no matter how difficult the circumstances are. The Home has demonstrated that dementia doesn't define you. They strive to provide personalised care that is resident centered. Since being a resident at Blythe my Moms personality has flourished. She is so happy and content. The communication from the home is excellent they have always kept me well informed. The multi-professional team caring for my Mom are incredible. Thank you for helping our family throughout this journey. It has not gone unnoticed and we really do appreciate it.
A great care home. Good organisation and well staffed. My father was very well looked after - everyone was very caring. Nursing staff were excellent.
My father was a resident from January 2024 until he passed away in October 2024. Dad settled well and was happy here. During the last week of his life, myself and several family members stayed with dad. The care and compassion showed to dad and us as a family was exceptional. The manager and the whole team respected our wishes and couldn't have done more. It is a comfort to know that dad was so well cared for in the final months of his life.
My father-in-law never had the opportunity to experience a long-term stay at Blythe Rose Specialist Dementia Care Home as he transferred from a previous home in North Birmingham where his health had rapidly deteriorated with regards to his vascular dementia and Alzheimer's condition. Had he been a resident at Blythe Rose from the outset, I am convinced he would have lasted much longer. The manager and his team are exceptional. The home itself is absolutely fabulous, spacious, tastefully decorated in soothing, calm colours. Plenty of room to wander safely. Great outdoor space and not at all like you would imagine a nursing home. More importantly, is the level of care they offer and their commitment to ensuring all their residents are treated with dignity, kindness and loving support. The team of carers and nurses who cared for my father-in-law up to his passing were phenomenal. Their compassion and kindness, their communication and sensitivity to the situation with us, as the family, were quite incredible.
My father arrived at Blythe Rose from the hospital in 2023. I can not express how amazing Blythe Rose has been. The settling-in process was extremely well executed, and my dad settled very quickly. The activities have been fun and variable, and the food is excellent. The care the staff show to both its residents and my mother has been far and away the most impressive feature of the home. They have looked after Dad well and also Mum with kindness, sensitivity and respect. I really appreciate all they do and honestly can not think of anywhere being better for both Dad and Mum.
Staff have been helpful and informative - keeping us up to date with current condition and treatment. When we visit Stepmother seems well cared for and settled in her new home. We are reassured that staff know her well given the short time that she has been resident.
I have found Blythe Rose Care Home to be the perfect home from home for my mother, who has had some weeks of respite care there. The staff have been professional, empathetic, caring and compassionate, observing regularly and meeting Mum’s needs well with regard to her medication and interests. While she has been there, the communication between the care home and myself has been exceptional, nothing has been too much trouble and the staff make it a priority to get to know Mum well, as well as my sister and I. Knowing the level of care has been so good, it has made the possible decision in the future to make this a more permanent arrangement less daunting, where I feel the relationship with Mum has now returned to being mother and daughters rather than mother and carers.
I am really impressed with the professionalism and wrap around care and support provided by the team at Blythe Rose. All the staff team from reception, administrative support, homemakers, lodge leaders, nursing, operational and management show a very warm and responsive approach to their residents and their families. I live outside the UK but am keen to support my sister and keep in touch with her as much as is possible at this stage of her illness. I have appreciated the many ways in which Blythe Rose has facilitated this. Examples of this would be the meetings for relatives hosted on the web, a regular newsletter and postings on social media that capture special moments of activities/outings for residents. I have also received great help in having one to one chats with my sister and in sending her newsletters from family overseas. I believe that the Blythe Rose team provide outstanding care in the meeting the needs of people living with dementia.
This will be short and succinct. Great staff (all staff). Spotless, well-maintained rooms and building. Everyone is totally professional and kind. My father is so happy, his care couldn't be better. Well done to everyone!
My husband moved to Blythe Rose Care Home one month ago. He has settled very well and is being cared for by staff who are kind, helpful and have a good attitude to the residents. I have no complaints at all.
This is Dad’s second care home and having had a poor experience previously, it was such a relief to find a ‘home from home’ place. Staff are caring, respectful and so very patient with him. He’s as settled as his condition allows and we all sleep peacefully in the knowledge he’s in the best place possible. Thank you Blythe Rose.
Dad came to Blythe Rose for respite care in October 2022. He settled so well, he became a resident the month after. It's always a pleasure to visit Dad. We are always greeted with a friendly smile at the reception. All staff are very approachable, nothing is too much trouble. We have peace of mind knowing that Dad is very comfortable, happy and being cared for by wonderful, kind people. Thank you.
My mum has been cared for exceptionally well by the care staff on Bentley Lodge. There has been a recent change in staff on the unit and this has been really positive and care has improved. Mum is shown great attention and I’ve never had reason to complain.
Mum has been resident here for almost a year. The staff could not be nicer and are always friendly. Prior to coming to the home my mum was really sad and challenging to care for. I’ve seen a completely different side to her since coming here. We knew it was the place for her when we saw the lodge living design, enabling residents to do their own cooking, laundry and it felt like home. Management are understanding and sort out any issues that arise.
My mum went into Blythe Rose Care Home for respite care while we looked for a facility local to us in the far north of England. The care she received was exemplary, the staff were approachable, engaging and took a genuine interest in my mum. We were truly blown away with the what the facility offered and felt that there approach in the care of the residents with memory loss was, intuitive and original in providing a family environment.
Whilst my dad was only in Blythe Rose Care Home for a short time and sadly passed away there, I really can’t speak highly enough of all the staff there for the compassion and care they showed and throughout Dad's last hours. I’m so happy that Dad was there when he passed, with privacy and in comfort, rather than having been in hospital and honestly, the staff have all been so lovely throughout his stay and everyone I’ve met has always had a smile on their face. The nurses were so caring with his nursing needs and the manager was so understanding on his final day as well. Whilst it was essentially an incredibly sad experience, it brings me great peace to know Dad was well looked after in his final few weeks and that I was able to be with him in his last moments.
My husband went into Blythe Rose Care Home initially for respite care and is now a resident. When he was admitted, it was an anxious time for the family. From our experience, he has been well cared for, the staff are pleasant and helpful. This is a massive reassurance to the family, putting our worries to rest knowing he is in safe hands.
My grandmother has settled well into Blythe Rose Care Home. The staff and home have welcomed both us and my grandmother with open arms. Their understanding of dementia is unique and fully accepting. We feel confident with the level of care she receives.
Wonderful warm welcome. Very luxurious, comfortable and well thought-out home. Carers are extremely kind, thoughtful and caring.
My father-in-law moved into Blythe Rose in October 2022 and we could not be happier with the care he receives. After a lengthy stint in hospital and then respite care elsewhere, he was unable to walk independently and had lost a considerable amount of weight. A week or two into his move to Blythe Rose, he was walking again, eating for England and smiling. Deciding that you need help to care for a loved one is heartbreaking and it has been a massive adjustment for the whole family but made so much easier by the professionalism and warmth every single member of staff has shown us all. My father in law has good days and bad days due to the dementia but we know that he is cared for and shown the love we aren't always there to give him every single day. The whole family would recommend Blythe Rose for anyone considering a care home for a loved one suffering from dementia.
