View Full Details of Woodlands Care HomeMy father was in for respite for a week. During this time I found the home to have an inviting atmosphere. I found the staff very welcoming and caring which put my mind at ease. If my father ever needed permanent care Woodlands would be my first choice. My father was happy with his stay at Woodlands and the staff catered to all his needs.
I visit my aunt 3 or 4 times a week and I am truly impressed by the level of care that is maintained. The home has a lovely feel and everyone smiles when you go in and it's so refreshing to see. We would recommend Woodlands to others.
It was a difficult decision to move my mum into a care home but everyone made her feel so welcome from the start. They even sent a luxury car to pick us up. She has settled in wonderfully well and at the ripe old age of 91, she has made quite a few new friends.
My mum absolutely loved her stay in Woodlands! Staff are lovely and really made my mum feel settled quickly. Very clean home as well and you can tell the staff really prioritise the quality of their care. Would absolutely recommend Woodlands!
Mum has been in the care of Woodlands for 18 months and sees this as her home. The facilities are excellent and the staff are wonderful. Every member of staff must be carefully chosen because they are all great. Mum gets very good care, she is confined to a wheelchair so needs help with everything. Well-fed, well looked after, means that the family can relax a bit knowing she is in good hands.
My aunt moved into Woodlands for palliative care. The staff were nothing short of exceptional during what was such a difficult time for us all. We stayed two nights with my aunt and everyone really went above and beyond to support my aunt and us all as a family. We all felt my aunt was definitely in the right place, the nursing team were incredible and talked through everything with us. Thank you all for the care, love and support.
I visited my uncle who has been a resident for 6 months now. He was naturally worried about moving in but now says he's so happy and is really enjoying the company of the other gents. Everyone is just so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.
My dad was diagnosed with dementia and has been in Woodlands for 7 months now. The carers know him so well and he loves a laugh and a bit of banter with them. We really enjoy spending the afternoon with him, having a cup of tea and watching a film in the family sitting rooms they have. Very happy indeed with the care he receives.
My gran was in for a period of respite after an operation and we are over the moon with the care she received from the wonderful staff at Woodlands! The personal trainer worked wonders to help her get back on her feet again and build up her confidence (even though I know she can be resistant at times!). Everyone at Woodlands was extremely welcoming and supportive, which resulted in my gran being a little sad to leave but has now bounced back into life at home! A huge thank you from the whole family.
We were made so welcome and the staff took time and answered all our questions. Delighted with the care my sister received and when we visit, we are treated as one big family. Nothing is too much trouble and management takes the time to stop and chat. My sister's walking has really improved and she has managed quite a few outings, which she couldn't do at home. Highly recommended.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at woodlands , the atmosphere is upbeat and this is priceless for us. The decor is first class. I really can't praise it enough. My mother-in-law feels safe here and loves the food, especially the home bakes. We are encouraged to enjoy the facilities with the residents. There is a lovely outside area to sit in.
My mum has settled in really well and has made many new friends (both residents and staff!) We honestly could not wish for a better, safer environment for Mum, gives us total peace of mind that she is safe at all times. Could not recommend highly enough! Thank you so very much.
My mum is very settled and happy at Woodlands. Mum has been facilitated for the very first time and has made many friends - we always receive a very warm welcome from staff and residents! Highly recommended.
Fantastic facility and the staff are exceptional in every respect. Activities are well organised and keep residents active and engaged. The food is high quality and the dining experience is excellent.
Woodlands has now been my home for seven months, the biggest thing I enjoy is the people, the attitude of the staff makes me feel safe and happy. I always feel welcome and encouraged. There are a wide range of activities available and I try to get involved in as many as I can. One of my lifelong friends is also at Woodlands so we can continue to see each other. I would recommend Woodlands.
I loved the home the minute I walked in the door, my client can be very awkward. She has been here for six weeks. The first week was very challenging for staff. 2 weeks, what a change for the better and since then she has never looked back. Happy within herself and now a pleasure to visit.
We wanted to leave a review to convey our families gratitude and say a huge thank you for all Woodlands have done for our mum. She had been failing and after a fall/hip replacement we felt she was going to Woodlands to die. However not only is she alive she is happy and thriving. We feel we’ve got Mum back but in many ways an improved one. She feels she is in a 5 star hotel! She loves the Garden Cafe and taking part in the excellent range of activities. To see her waving to fellow residents and carers is lovely. She no longer looks for us anxiously but is happy to see us. She feels safe which is a huge thing. We also feel looked after by all the supportive staff. All of them have played a part in changing her life and ours as we no longer dread phone calls. I now look forward to spending time with her and hearing about her day.
Main problem going away from home is diet, coeliac/gluten-free and other allergies. Problem 2: After many falls/fractures, lack of confidence, mobility and general well-being. Woodlands Care Home provided excellent day-to-day supervision and care. Supported: movement, activities (provided and self-care/activity). The care provided led to an increase in my weight (required) and increased mobility - with confidence. Accommodation is very suited to purpose, clean and comfortable. Library, hair salon, garden, coffee shop, activities.
My husband, who has young-onset Alzheimer's, has just returned from his first week of respite at Woodlands. He was incredibly well looked after by all of the team. Staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. In his words, Woodlands is a really nice place with a lot of good people and he has told me that he would be happy to return there so that I can have another break. That says it all really!
My mum moved into Woodlands in November 2023 and from the outset, we were extremely impressed. The building itself is beautiful with large spacious bedrooms filled with natural light, the corridors wide and airy and there are beautiful communal areas in each wing and floor which are a great size so that Mum was never overwhelmed by the number of people in them. The building and amenities however are nothing without the staff that care for the residents. It is here that Woodlands really excels. Every person we came into contact with including receptionists, carers nurses cleaners and activity coordinators were exceptional. Their patience compassion and genuine concern for Mum was astonishing. Unfortunately Mum passed away in January and again the compassion and support to both Mum and ourselves in her final hours could not be faulted. All in all a first-class care home.
