View Full Details of Hallmark Willingdon Park ManorA modern facility with beautiful furnishing and decor. Staff are very caring, and patient and encourage her to take part in activities. They have made my mother feel very welcome and cared for. After a few months she feels very much at home.
I would not recommend Willingdon Park Manor thanks to the appalling level of care Mum received during her respite stay. The level of care was not of a high standard and was anything but attentive. There was no proactive care plan and the staff lacked training. Despite Mum's vulnerable state she was rarely checked before 10.30am and had to ask for everything including help to get up, have a shower (the showers flooded during use), get her bed made and laundry collected. Of particular concern was the mismanagement of a number of important clinical matters including confusion in the dispensing of Mum's medication necessitating multiple interventions by her family to ensure she received the correct tablets/doses and similar confusion in the handling of her medical paperwork. The home also failed to make an emergency same day GP appointment despite promising us this would be done. As a result we had to remove Mum from the home as we were so concerned about her safety and wellbeing.
Willingdon Park Manor is an outstanding nursing home on every level in our experience. My father became a resident in May 2024 as we felt the facilities and approach to looking after someone with dementia were a world away from the care he was receiving at a nursing home nearby. From the very start, one of the wonderful care team made him her pet project and was determined to get him moving and engaging with things. My father was a very bright, commercial man with interests in history, world affairs and mountaineering. His dementia made him very frustrated and therefore he could be challenging to look after. None of this daunted the team - in fact it made him more interesting to them as they all sought to build a relationship with him and find things to engage him. When we reached his final weeks, the whole community at Willingdon Park wrapped their arms around us and him to ensure he had a peaceful and comfortable death, surrounded by love. We couldn't have asked for more.
First class Carehome, well designed building, keen attention to safety and detail. Furnishings are pleasant and the outside garden area is also. The staff are very attentive, welcoming and provide great care for the residents.
I would highly recommend Willingdon Park Manor. My mother has been cared for with respect and compassion by staff who always find time to listen and respond to residents' needs. Mum may not have chosen to use many of the luxuries available, such as the cocktail bar, cinema and massage treatments, but she and her visitors certainly enjoyed being served freshly baked scones or cakes with coffee every day in the cafe! Constructive feedback is actively asked for from residents and relatives, and Mum was pleased that there was a prompt response and resolution to an issue raised. Thank you to all at Willingdon Park Manor.
My husband, who has dementia, came in the nursing home on 12th May this year. Since then, he has been very well looked after by all the staff, who are without exception, very kind and caring and treat him as an individual. His health is closely monitored and his bedroom and surroundings are very comfortable. He also enjoys using the reception area with its café, and weather permitting, sitting in the garden. My family and I feel very happy with the nursing home.
My mother moved in at the end of August, coming from a care home where the level of social and personal care was not the best. We would visit her in the old place and nearly every day, she would be crying, distressed, and feeling isolated in her room. The first few days at Willingdon Park Manor were spent getting to know the team. Everyone, all of the staff on Mum's floor stopped in to introduce themselves as they walked past. Everyone. It's like a big family atmosphere. Now, when we visit, Mum is 'out and about', I'd say half of her day is spent socializing, taking part in an activity or having a meal in one of the dining areas. In the six weeks she has been there, she's got colour back in her cheeks, she laughs more than she cries (if she cries at all now), her nightmares have stopped and she has friends again. Add all of that to a place that is thoughtfully designed, beautifully decorated and with lovely nurses... we are more than impressed.
My mum moved here in August from another home where her needs weren't being met. She's been here about 6 weeks and the transformation in her is amazing! She's a lot less anxious , she's being looked after so well and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. They're engaging with her and she's actually joining in and enjoying a lot of the activities which is a joy to see. I know that if I don't visit, she will have a good day with lovely people. All of the staff are really friendly and genuinely care about the residents and their families. The food is really excellent too and there are always fresh cakes and things in the cafe if you're peckish. There are two fabulous ladies that do her hair and nails each week, which is included in the fee. I've visited a lot of care homes in my time and this one is perfect in every way I can think of. I think everyone deserves to live somewhere like this if they're in care.
This is a lovely care home and they provide everything my father needs. The staff are very friendly and approachable and keep me informed at all times. There are loads of activities for him to do to keep his mind active. I would highly recommend this home.
I visted my friend each afternoon for a week whilst staying nearby. I was immediately impressed with the environment both inside and out, plus the facilities available. The staff seemed genuinely caring and I never got the impression that this was just a job to them. Equally as impressive was the care and concern afforded to me a visitor, when I became upset. This is a haven of all that anyone could ever need during challenging times.
Finding the right home for a loved relative was made easy for us by the staff and facilities at Willingdon Park Manor. Experts have clearly been involved in the planning and construction of the home - the attention to detail in comfort, design, and finish is faultless and the staff is professional, warm, approachable, friendly, and caring. The home affords a) residents genuine sanctuary and b) visitors the immediate assurance that relatives are genuinely cared for and appreciated. On entering WPM for the first time our Mother did not want to leave and it is easy to see, sense, and understand why. Everything, literally everything has been thought of - from the garden and the planting, through to the lighting, the decor, the ambiance, and the surrounds - nothing is out of place or missing. Everything has a purpose and is provided for a reason. Summary: WPM is a genuine home for residents and their families - the perfect venue and environment to enjoy and celebrate later living.
My dad had been at another local care home in Eastbourne where the standards have been slipping over recent months. We went to see Willingdon Park Manor together to see if he liked it, and he loved it and wanted to move in as soon as possible! He has only been there for 3 weeks at this stage, but he is incredibly happy, and said it is 'indescribably better' than the last place (a place which claims to be 'outstanding' but isn't). Willingdon Park Manor is absolutely beautiful, like a five-star hotel. It is stunningly decorated, and beautifully laid out, with wonderful facilities and services, amazing staff and thoughtful care. Dad says that the staff are brilliant, the food is excellent and beautifully presented, the environment is lovely, and the care is fantastic! The staff have been incredibly helpful, friendly and responsive, and the whole team could not be nicer. Overall, I give it 5/5 on every measure, and I can sleep easier at night now knowing Dad is happy and well looked after.
The staff at Willingdon Park Manor work hard to ensure residents and their families feel welcome, comfortable and at home. The home offers generous hospitality to families. They are good at fostering a sense of community - my father and I were offered the use of the cinema to enjoy a high-profile sporting event! They go out of their way to have on hand favourite branded foods, identify established routines, maintain said routines and offer a friendly face at all times.
Willingdon Park Manor rescued us. Any teething problems are listened to with respect and care and I feel we are part of the team trying to help Dad settle in. No home is perfect but all the team are trying their best to make it so.
I needed a Care Home with an immediate vacancy where my mum would be safe, comfortable, well cared for and happy. Willingdon Park Manor is decorated and furnished to a very high standard but maintains a homely feel. The bedrooms, the great variety of indoor shared areas and the gardens are beautiful. The staff team is friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, passionate about what they do, proud to be part of the team and treat everyone with dignity and respect. After 20+ years of living alone and being fiercely independent, Mum was a little slow to settle in. They understood this and reassured her and spoke with me to see if together we could find ways to help her adjust. She is now safe, comfortable, well cared for, happy and loving life, having her hair and nails done every week, participating in the activities arranged every day and enjoying the excellent food and varied and imaginative menus. Willingdon Park Manor and the team are amazing and I cannot recommend this home highly enough.
The transition of Mum moving into the home has been very smooth, Mum gets involved with a variety of activities and so much to explore. It's very flexible. The care given to Mum is great. The experience so far has been outstanding. Staff are all very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend this home to anyone.
The care, facilities, accommodation and staff are all excellent. The staff were very understanding during the admission process, and whilst my mum has only been at the home for a month or so, the care provided has been excellent, with a wide range of social activities.
Staff have been extremely welcoming and the transition of Mum moving in has been very smooth. There are so many different areas to explore and activities for Mum to get involved with, she seems so happy there.
I have found all aspects of the home and staff excellent, both in terms of flexibility in accommodating my mums admission and her subsequent care and wellbeing. Our overall experience thus far has been outstanding. All the staff are very friendly and nothing seems too much trouble for the residents, family and friends etc. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.
My brother is the first resident of Willingdon Park Manor which is a newly built and recently opened care home. On arrival, he was warmly welcomed and soon settled into a friendly and caring environment. It was a big lifestyle change for him and he was greatly helped to adjust by the support of the first-class staff. The standard of the facilities at the home are excellent, with good rooms, good food and great care and he will be very happy there.
