View Full Details of Lady Jane Court Care Home - Avery HealthcareA very good care home, but expensive (as they all are). They have looked after mum very well for the past 20 months, as her dementia gets worse. A great improvement on dementia floor means that residents are rarely left alone in the lounge any more - unless there is a real emergency!! Most of the carers are excellent or outstanding, and the rest of the staff are welcoming, caring, and all make the effort to speak to residents and families. One concern is items going missing mum has lost glasses and numerous hearing aids, as well as two shawls that were brought in for her.
I spent five weeks at Lady Jane Court in respite care whilst my daughter was out of the country. The surroundings, facilities, decoration and quality of rooms are excellent, but I was accommodated on the second floor which left me feeling isolated at times. I would have preferred to be on a busier floor where I could have felt more involved (a move was eventually offered but not until the third week and I did not want to go through the upheaval). The staff and management were very friendly, polite and helpful, but I think they were a bit understaffed which meant that the level of service sometimes missed the mark with things not getting done in a timely manner and sometimes not at all. Food was in general good but not always to my taste.
This care home is beyond amazing after many sleepless nights worrying about my mum without dad and on her own after 72 years she was totally lost but she has settled in and calls it home, the staff are polite, attentive and nothing is too much trouble, it makes me happy as they treat her like a princess Thank you so much. What a team they have, from the manager to reception, assistants and maintenance. I am really grateful, thank you so much.
Mum has been a resident at Lady Jane for many months and her experiences and that of the family have been very good. The home is well run, the activities are excellent and all the staff are very professional and friendly. Cost is always on point of discussion but I guess Lady Jane is probably in line with the going rate. The quality of food is excellent but according to mum a bit more variety instead of sandwiches would be beneficial at tea time.
Every time we visit, the staff are very helpful, they obviously care for the residents. The rooms are lovely and clean as I've said the staff are great, especially one staff member, she takes great interest in them all. They are taken on lots of outdoor activities plus there is always something going on at the home.
Lovely and clean home. Rooms like a 5 star hotel. Staff friendly and caring. Might need more staff just for regular checks on residents.
Nice clean home, with great staff kind, helpful, nothing too much trouble. My friend is well looked after. What more could I want. Thanks to all.
These are only a few of the poor care provided at this home. Start with one resident who was left to wander the entire floor entering everyone's room and defecating in the resident's rooms, dining room, corridors, in fact anywhere. Is this acceptable, I think not. My husband was left for hours to wander aimlessly with no care given. No one recorded his liquid intake even though he had previously had an urinary tract infection (UTI). On several occasions, I was left to look after residents in the lounge and had to hunt for staff when they required the toilet or were in danger of falling. During a very hot spell of weather, I was in the garden with my husband for 2.5 hours and he was never offered a drink.
My mum thoroughly enjoyed her respite stay at Lady Jane Court in fact, she wasn't sure if she wanted to come home Friends visited her during her stay and reported that was very happy and relaxed and well-kept. The food at Lady Jane Court is very good, as is the attitude of the family staff. The home itself is beautifully decorated. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lady Jane Court to others.
Lady Jane Court is like a newly built, quality hotel with excellent facilities and good meals. They have very caring and helpful staff and organise lovely activities. Lady Jane Court is also conveniently located where we live.
We are so lucky to have Mum in Lady Jane Court. We know she is being well looked after, with good meals, excellent medical care, activities and everything she could want. As her dementia gradually worsens, we have no worries about the level of care she is receiving.
Lady Jane Court is in a great location and is easily accessible from the M1 and Leicester City centre. The building is beautifully fitted out with lots of space for residents, an in-house hairdresser and a small garden. The carers are very kind, attentive and patient with residents and communicate well with family members. The food is varied and of a high standard. They provide lots of activities (on-site and outings) to keep residents active and stimulated. Music, seated Zumba classes and therapy animal visits are particular favourites of my mum's!
I can find no fault with my friend's surroundings, she enjoys the food and responds to the care of staff in a positive way. The decor resembles a hotel with large ensuite rooms which are a pleasure to reside in. Visitors are treated with respect and friendliness but tempered with professional advice and reassurances. I would recommend this home to friends and family.
Outstanding place and care for my Dad who needed respite care whilst I was on holiday. Lady Jane looks more like a hotel than a care home and has a warm welcome. The staff are caring and considerate and made my dad feel at ease. I was kept up to date with his progress and that he has settled. Highly recommend
Shortly after Grandad began to reside here, we noticed that there were very few residents and Grandad didn't have many people to interact with. I also noticed that there was an extreme shortage of staff. Residents have free rein on the second floor and frequently walk into each other rooms, taking other's possessions. When my dad visited my Grandad, he walked into his bedroom and another resident had opened their bowels on my Grandad's bed and smeared their stool across the walls! Unfortunately, the reality of it is, if my dad wasn't there, my Grandad could have quite easily touched/sat in the stool which could have made him really unwell! Grandad was also involved in an incident whereby another male resident punched him, causing my Grandad to be knocked down and an ambulance had to be called. When my Nana was called to be made aware, the staff member told my nan the name of the resident who had assaulted my Grandad. This is a huge breach of confidentiality that was never dealt with.
I booked my mum in for some respite care with a really lovely lady who was so helpful and reassuring every step of the way. My mum was very unhappy and apprehensive about going saying she did not want to go at all! However, with the help of the extremely kind and caring staff she settled in extremely quickly and completely enjoyed every aspect of her stay. Before going she said she would stay in her room all of the time and didn't want to mix with anyone. That all changed from day one and she was helped and encouraged by all the wonderful staff. She loved the whole experience and said she would definitely like to go again. So a very big thank you to all at Lady Jane Court for giving my mum a great stay and me such peace of mind that she was safe and cared for while I was away.
My respite stay was an insight into what the care home has to offer. The staff made you feel welcome and supportive. It was a happy atmosphere.
Mum stayed at Lady Jane Court for just over 6 months. It is a wonderful environment and we could relax knowing that she was in a great home and very well looked after. The activity program was wonderful, very well thought out and tailored to the needs of the resident's individual likes and needs. The staff are all kind, caring and professional. The food is excellent and Lady Jane Court is highly recommended.
A very well-organised and caring establishment. The care and support are really excellent. My wife has been here for 3 months with severe Alzheimers and has been looked after extremely well.
I recently stayed at Lady Jane Court for respite care for a week after my shoulder operation. My room was lovely, but best of all, the staff were wonderful, I am so glad I stayed, I'm now at home, but am doing well. Would like to say hi and thank you to all.
