View Full Details of Windmill LodgeWindmill Lodge Residential. This is run as a business to make profit, that is the bottom line. The management is uncaring and unprofessional. When you see behind the facade, it's a different story. The only positive we can mention are the carers who are employed. Would not recommend this place. The Nolan Day Centre. Wonderful place, fantastic staff, would highly recommend.
Overall, very good.
Facilities very good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
After a very difficult 9 months at the start of 2024 with a lot of staff turnover and poor communication the lodge manager and the team are making great improvements and Mum is much more involved in activities which is so important for her. Please keep up all the good work.
Nice and friendly staff. Lovely room.
When the resident arrived from hospital he was unable to communicate and feel himself and I was preparing for the worst. After a short time is able to speak again, eat independently and has a renewed vigour. This has been the result lf the dedication and professionalism of the staff, their excellent care and dedication. I cannot thank them enough for their hard work.
This day, at lunchtime, has been one of the best experiences I've had with my brother since Windmill Lodge opened last year. Residents were in the lounge having lunch and enjoying the social aspect of eating with other people. The chef's assistant helped to serve lunch which was good because it relieved the care staff whilst they helped some residents. This needs to happen more often as it makes the place feel more like home for them all.
Happy with most things.
My family and I are very happy with the care and attention extended to my wife. The care staff are excellent. No problems at all.
My mother was resident here until we lost her in September, had vascular dementia and was very frail. This nursing home "lost" a high value eternity ring and I was given assurances back in August that they were "looking into it" and that I would receive a response as a priority. 54 days later and I nor Social Services have received any form of a response. They are in breach of Section 47 of the 2014 Care Act. My mum has now died and I have to explain to my daughter why an item of great personal sentimental value to her and my mother, cited as being bequeathed to her in my mother's will is missing. We have supplied them with photographs, a full insurance valuation and still no response. I am personally shocked by Athena's management's kick the can down the road approach to this matter. The management team seem unwilling to or unable to deal with a basic insurance claim. Probably best avoided if your elderly relatives have any high value personal effects. Or just avoid altogether.
Went for a two-week respite. Left 4 days early. Awful, understaffed, food disgusting and cold. Please do not send your loved ones here, they leave them doing nothing but cry and try to break out. The older people were begging me to call their families - no games or entertainment.
I like the place and has been good for my mother. Carers are good and caring. Nursing care could be improved. The place is very clean. This place is one of the better ones. Could do with more staff sometimes. Management was an issue changing all the time. Nursing is a bit slack at times.
My husband has been coming to the home since its opening and we can't say how very pleased we are enough. Excellent care in wonderful and safe surroundings and good lunches too. Excellent, very many thanks, you are a life saver for us both.
Very warm and professional.
I was hesitant at first bringing Mum to the daycare centre, but I needn't have been. Mum loves coming and has made new friends. She is kept active and thoroughly enjoys the daily activities. The staff look after the daycare centre members very well, they adapt to everyone's needs. I don't know how the staff think up the different activities they do. I would have no hesitation in recommending the daycare centre to anyone.
The Day Centre is so welcoming with a calm and friendly atmosphere at all times. Activities are inventive and something available to suit everyone. The staff are always approachable if there is a problem. I have total confidence in this Day Centre.
My wife has attended for over 6 weeks and I and she have found the staff to be first-class in attention and activities for those attending.
Dad joined The Nolan Day Centre in April 2024, he had quite a poorly stage for about 12 months, but once on the mend Dad wanted to go out but wasn't up to anything too energetic and really enjoys his time at The Nolan Day Centre. He enjoys the company, entertainment and activities, it really has helped with his dementia. Everybody is really friendly and happy he enjoys his lunch out.
My husband comes here and absolutely loves it here (Nolan Day Centre). He always comes home lifted in spirit and the staff are excellent.
Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly and shown a lot of patience to answer all of our questions. Thanks everyone!
