View Full Details of Horsforth Manor Care HomeMum moved to the Dementia floor (Haven) at Horsforth Manor in February 2024, and hand on heart I can say she had the best year. The staff understood her needs from the outset. They provided her with a healthy routine, brilliant care, good food, a great mix of activities and most of all friendship. She was soon much less anxious, her mood and memory improved dramatically. I can't believe how quickly she settled. There is a fantastic amount of weekly and themed activities to join in with, and family and friends are encouraged to support the events and made very welcomed. An Advent Calendar of events this Christmas certainly gave us lots of lovely memories. So much thought and effort was put in by the whole team. When mum got poorly the staff couldn't do enough to support her and the family. Having been encouraged to discuss her end of life wishes, before she became poorly, it became a fundamental part of the care she received and for that I can't thank the team enough.
My mother-in law moved into Horsforth Manor Care Home a few weeks ago, and we are so pleased at the difference this has made to her life. We have nothing but praise for the staff at the home who have made her so welcome. The staff are hard working, organised, caring and proactive. They pay attention to the small details, which mean so much to an elderly resident. The staff make time to chat to the residents and really get to know them. An outstanding feature of Horsforth Manor, is the programme of daily activities. Every day, residents are encouraged to join in fun activities and games such as bingo, quizes, art classes and local walks, which encourage stimulation, exercise, laughter and friendship. Over Christmas and during the weeks since then, there have been numerous social occasions and events for residents and their families to enjoy, and the weekly coffee morning is a highlight for many.
Horsforth Manor is more than a care home; it is a family. From the luxurious, elegant décor to the warm, compassionate staff, everything exudes care. My mum moved there in February 2024, and despite her dementia, the staff's dedication helped her settle. They patiently nurtured her, encouraging her to participate in activities such as trips out, meals, Elvis singalongs, dancing, coffee mornings, and pub nights. Families are always welcome, creating a strong community. They made amazing afternoon teas for Mum to enjoy with friends. Sadly, Mum passed away in February 2025. During that difficult time, the staff were our rock, providing exceptional care for Mum and support for us, so we could be with her during her final days. From the cleaning team to management, everyone showed genuine love and compassion. Choosing Horsforth Manor was one of our best decisions. They enriched Mum's life and gave us peace of mind. I highly recommend them-they're a shining example of compassionate care.
My aunt was a fee paying resident at Horsforth Manor Care Home from October 2023 to April 2024. Initially she was situated on the first floor which seemed to be designated for residents with early dementia who did not require too much assistance. Unfortunately, there were no other residents on this floor at that time and she was isolated apart from at mealtimes and the odd activity. She was moved to the top floor and was able to spend time amongst other residents which was better for her, but she required less care than most of them and was often neglected in terms of staff not ensuring she changed her clothing daily and showered. On several occasions there were no staff in the communal room on her floor. Most staff were very competent and caring but some were belligerent when issues were raised and one was downright insolent, I reported her twice but never received an apology. I wrote to the owners of the home with a catalogue of complaints but they didn't have the decency to reply.
I have been visiting the home to see a friend of mine who's a resident for a while. The care that's provided, staff members and the facilities are great. The entertainment for the residents is something I've never seen before within a residential home, spirits are high and its nice to see the smiles on the residents faces. Always greeted and positivity when you walk through the door. Keep up the great work.
Our amazing mum and our dad moved into Horsforth Manor Care Home December 2023. We sadly lost our dad in March 2024. Dad loved Horsforth Manor and as independent as he was he knew that it was definitely the perfect place for him and mum to be cared for. Mum has really settled into Horsforth Manor. I honestly can't imagine her being anywhere better! Although she is grieving she is living her best life. As a family we spend lots of time at The Manor, because it's our 2nd home. We love the amazing team who go above and beyond with all the events, stimulation, and standards of care, I cannot thank the team enough for making our mum so happy and enabling us to make the best memories.
My nana went to day care here and she had an amazing time. She is 96 and is registered blind, and because of a fall was not getting out and about very much. She started coming for the coffee mornings and enjoyed it so much she wanted to stay all day. This was arranged and she had such a good time. The girls were amazing. There are various activities going on. They had an Elvis impersonator and she loved this. The food was also very good. My nana described this as proper home cooked food, and of course the puddings went down a treat. I would thoroughly recommend day care here. The staff are patient, kind and very caring and it feels more like a 5 star hotel than a care home.
I visit my Great Granny every week and the staff are always lovely and welcoming. It's a beautiful care home, always clean and rarely has a bad smell! They look after my Granny very well and she always tells us how lovely the ladies are that look after her. Always enjoy visiting my Granny here.
My mum is a resident and has been there since February 24. As a family we absolutely love Horsforth Manor Care Home, the staff are amazing and make us all feel so welcome and we have become part of the Horsforth Manor family. My mum is so happy there and dad visits her a few times a week and all the staff have welcomed him. They look after the family as well as the resident. They do so many activities with the residents and we love the weekly coffee morning. All the staff went over and above at Christmas and made it so special for everyone. I just can't praise them all enough.
Following a bout of ill health my brother had 3 weeks convalescence at Horsforth Manor; every aspect of his stay was excellent and conducive to his recovery. A beautifully laid out room with en-suite bathroom and designer decor in lounges made for pleasant visits for friends and family. We used the 1st floor lounge to host a family get-together, the home provided a trolley of refreshments which were very welcome and which we all enjoyed. After his stay my brother left to return to his own home, much improved, due to the care and professionalism of the staff, for which I too am very grateful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to anyone looking for respite or convalescence, especially if you're someone who may feel not old enough for an old people's home.
My mother, who lives alone, spent a weeks respite care at Horsforth Manor while family members, who live close to her, were on holiday. She was apprehensive about the stay but after being there she was very positive about it. She was made welcome by staff and other residents. She participated in the activities and enjoyed a visit by local children. The choice of food suited her taste and was well prepared and presented. Her room (respite care) was comfortable and suited her needs and had access to the rear garden. When I visited, some of the residents were sitting round the coffee table reading and talking, encouraged by staff members. I and my husband had lunch with mum. The meal was pleasant and a good example of the meals that the residents enjoyed. When we took mum home, she was very positive about her stay and talked about different aspects for several days.
Excellent throughout the week, with plenty of activities to take part in. A thoroughly enjoyable time. The room and all the facilities are first class and the staff are all very attentive and friendly.
After talking to my mother-in-law she was very happy, had enjoyed activities and the children visiting to entertain them. The staff had been very kind and engaging plus always asking if she wanted another drink. She'd enjoyed the food and the fact that she could choose by seeing what the meal choices were on a plate beforehand.
My grandma recently stayed for one week of respite and thoroughly enjoyed her stay. She couldn't speak more highly of the staff who she described as being 'absolutely marvellous'. She had a wonderful time taking part in the various activities on offer and made friends whilst there, which enhanced her experience. The home is immaculate and with a very warm and welcoming feel. The food was varied, plentiful and there was always something my grandma could eat, which was great as she can be particular about her food. My grandma has already stated she would love to return in the future and is still talking very fondly about her time away.
My Relation had a lovely 1 week stay here. She enjoyed the food and activities. All staff treated her with care and dignity. She made new friends and enjoyed the children's visits. The cleanliness was brilliant with no odour.
I have now being a frequent visitor to Horsforth Manor Care Home visiting a dear friend for nearly twelve months. This home excels in every aspect, the team are wonderful, caring and I am always welcomed with a friendly smile and I feel part of the Manor family that the team create. Always invited to the parties and entertainment that they hold. Having visited many care homes in the local area this one by far tops them all. Everyone I speak to in the home from those residing in the home to visitors and staff, all say the same how happy they are. I have already told my children where I want to be should I need to move to a care home.
I'm delighted with Horsforth Manor and can't speak highly enough of the kind and caring staff from management to all the carers including the handyman! My relative settled in quickly and easily much to my amazement and with encouragement has fully participated with the many valued activities. The atmosphere in the home is always upbeat and joyful and it's a pleasure to visit. Thank you. Oh, and she loves the food!
Absolutely wonderful. Staff amazing. Friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Always entertaining. Very helpful.
Excellent home, beautifully furnished with lovely caring staff.
Lovely home and lovely big rooms. Wonderful staff too many to name, who genuinely care for the residents. This is a happy home you are greeted on arrival by one of the staff who is friendly and kind to everyone. When I leave my mum I always feel she's in safe hands, residents are encouraged to take part in all activities from crafts to indoor games to singers coming in. Trips are arranged out on a regular basis these include trips to shops, garden centres etc. These are arranged by the wonderful entertainment manager. The home asks residents and families for regular feedback and are always striving to improve. Thanks for looking after my mum so well.
