View Full Details of Fairfax Manor Care HomeMy husband has been in Fairfax Manor for 2 months, and I am delighted with his care. He is treated with dignity by every member of staff. He enjoys his meals, and his room contains everything I would want.
Fairfax Manor is a wonderful care home, and I would highly recommend. The staff are all very kind and caring, and they cannot do enough for all the residents. My mother has been a resident for 6 months now and has received excellent care. There are always lots of different amenities for the residents to join in if they want to.
I can highly recommend Fairfax Manor to anyone looking for care for themselves or a relative. The building is very modern with high quality fixtures and fittings, and is kept spotlessly clean and tidy. Security is high and the sensors in bedrooms to detect night time movement and alert staff are a quality touch. The care is exemplary, the staff being professional and friendly with a high regard for the dignity and feelings of the residents and relatives alike. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that residents are rarely left sitting in their room as there is often entertainment and they are otherwise encouraged to engage with their fellow residents. Meals are high quality and reflect exactly the likes and dislikes of the more elderly person. Fairfax is by no means the cheapest care home in the area. But the facility and the level of care prove that you get what you pay for.
I came in today to check on my friend who was joining in with the other residents who were all being entertained by the Activities Coordinator! He and others from the team of carers had everyone joining in. There was a real feeling of inclusiveness as everyone's capabilities were met and gentle encouragement got people singing and dancing! Clapping and gigging in their seats or proper up, holding hands, supporting each other whilst waltzing round the room! Smiles and laughter all round, it was a lovely morning. My friend was very happy and content it was great to see. Clever how, despite the vast range of abilities, everyone seemed to feel part of the group.
My wife was a resident for 2 weeks and experienced a totally professional experience. The staff were top class and we could find no fault with them or the care they provided.
As one of the first to move into Fairfax Mum has been a resident for 12 months during which time her dementia and overall health has deteriorated significantly. I have been enormously impressed by the way in which the team have helped us through this difficult phase and with the flexibility and outstanding care they provide. Her room is lovely and the catering is first class and adapted to her needs. The whole team are professional, friendly and genuinely try their best for Mum. I would have no hesitation recommending Fairfax Manor.
My mum came for respite seven weeks ago and is now a permanent resident. She has settled really well thanks to the excellent staff who are all very friendly, welcoming and happy.
Wonderful place. Brilliant staff. They have looked after my father so well. Thank you.
A very traumatic time putting your loved one of 50 years in the care of someone else. Up to now, he couldn't be looked after better, calming surroundings, excellent care with kind and caring staff. Always ready to ensure questions and very helpful.
My mother has been a resident at Fairfax Manor since April 2024. She has had nothing but amazing care from day one. As I do not live locally, I talk to the home a couple of times a week and always find the team have time to update me on mother's care and any needs she requires. The catering staff everyday adapt the menu for her eating requirements. I can now also video call thanks to the help of the management team. A big thank you to all concerned.
Since moving into Fairfax Manor earlier this year, my mother has very much enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the regular activities that are arranged each week. The catering has been first class and everywhere is always spotlessly clean as you would hope. Overall our expectations have been exceeded in all areas!
How fortunate we are to have discovered Fairfax Manor in Harrogate! The title of 'care home' does not do it justice. It is far from anything like a care home you would have ever imagined. Our initial meeting with the team was met positively and sympathetically, they really listened at what was a distressing time. Time was taken to show us around the entire 'hotel' and to view the first-class facilities. All questions we had were met positively and appropriately. The decision was made immediately that our relative would stay for a little respite. Shortly afterwards, we knew that this comfortable, high-end, relaxed, caring environment was the place for our relative to be, and decided to stay permanently! It's not just about the environment - the care team and management are second to none. Queries from us are met with a 'can do' attitude and are actioned that day. Nothing is too much trouble. The suites are lovely. Our relative is settling, cared for well. Highly recommended.
My dad spent a week at Fairfax Manor for respite following being unwell. We were all a little nervous but need not have worried. From initial enquiry to saying goodbye we felt welcome and in safe hands. All staff were professional cheerful and caring. A very happy environment, excellent facilities, lots of social opportunities and visitors made welcome. A definite choice for any future "holidays"
I was very impressed by my recent respite stay in Fairfax Manor, particularly by the kindness of the staff and the excellent amenities. However, I would have appreciated a telephone in my room. Nevertheless I would be happy to return if the occasion arises.
Excellent care and the staff were caring in their duties and supper during my brief stay in October 2024.
My mother went to Fairfax Manor for respite care following a fall. The care she received was absolutely brilliant. She was totally respected as an individual and given an extremely high standard of care.
My father had a very pleasant stay at Fairfax Manor. He was well looked after and the staff were all helpful and polite. They were all very friendly and enjoyed the banter. The facilities are really good and his room was very clean. He was very happy there. He was in the home for respite and would definitely consider staying there again.
We were so very lucky to have got our friend into Fairfax Manor Care Home. Everything was second to none but the main assets are the staff and management. Without them, no care home would be the same. They work tirelessly to ensure that all resident's needs are met with dignity and grace. What makes the home stand out from the rest are the management and the staff. Yes, the furnishings are wonderful, food delicious etc etc. The staff are extraordinary and I trust will be treated by upper management in the same way as they treat and care for the residents. Their care and attention to detail under sometimes quite difficult circumstances did not go unnoticed. Our friend loved being in Fairfax Manor and we cannot thank them all enough.
My sister and I visited many face facilities before choosing Fairfax Manor for our mum. From the minute we walked through the door we were quickly made to feel welcome. They made the whole process of getting mum to stay there very easy and we really felt we were all in good hands. Mum settled in very well even with dementia. She is treated with lots of reassurance and empathy. We really can't fault the facilities, cleanliness, rooms and the food quality. It feels like a hotel, not a care home. So much so that mum thinks she is on holiday every day!
Dad came in for a week's respite. We had a look at various care homes, but we settled on Fairfax as the environment looked really good for him and it was close to where he lives. We definitely made the right decision and Dad was really happy. We didn't think he'd come back. From the moment he arrived, we could see the effort, kindness and care that everyone showed him. We were shown around, given a coffee and introduced to the staff who would be looking after him. It was clear that all the staff couldn't do enough during his time there. Since he left, he hasn't stopped talking about his positive experience including the other residents he met, the facilities and all the nurses. He especially liked the live music act that played. Thank you!
