View Full Details of Waterhouse Manor Care HomeMy nan recently stayed at Waterhouse Manor for respite care. She very much enjoyed the entertainment but most importantly, the care. From the moment they picked her up, they kept us up to date with day to day activities and she is now home feeling refreshed. My Nan thoroughly enjoyed her time during her stay. The home has great facilities and a beautiful place for a break or permanent home. I would 100% recommend to friends and family.
I'm so thankful for the incredible experience my mum had during her respite care stay in a time of need. From the moment my Mum arrived, the staff made us feel at ease and their kindness and professionalism were evident throughout. The care home was warm, welcoming, and spotless, with a real homely feel. Mum was well looked after, and it was clear to see that the staff took the time to get to know her needs and preferences. She enjoyed the activities, socialised with other residents and came back home feeling refreshed and in high spirits. It's such a relief to know she was in such good hands. I highly recommend Waterhouse Manor for anyone seeking respite care or a permanent home for their loved one.
Mum went in for respite care over Christmas as she has Alzheimer's. I had previously viewed the home by myself and was very impressed. We then had a visit with Mum and spoke to the staff and she chose her room. We then had a home visit to sort out all the paperwork which was much better than doing it there. Mum had a good time and I felt that she was definitely in good hands. The facilities are lovely and the home is very community oriented which I like, nothing was too much trouble for them.
Everyone is always very helpful and they engage as much as possible with my friend. She has dementia and the people at Waterhouse Manor really look after her well. She has lived alone for many years and it was difficult at first for her but she loves people and they have brought out her cheeky self again.
From day one when I first met the CSM for Waterhouse Manor at a stall in the local shopping centre it has been life-changing for both my mum and us. Mum was previously in another care home and had been declining massively for the last 6 months as they were not meeting even the basic of care needs. Within a week of coming and viewing the home Mum moved over. I was initially worried about how she would settle in due to her Alzheimer's change can be extremely unsettling. My concern was unfounded, she has settled in amazing and is actually flourishing since moving in. The staff are amazing, really attentive and caring and nothing is forced at all. The food is restaurant quality and she is actually eating really well now. I cannot sing this home's praises enough. I have my mum back. My only regret is that we didn't do it sooner. I can highly recommend Waterhouse Manor to anyone looking for somewhere that truly genuinely cares for the residents. I never have to worry about Mum anymore.
The team at Waterhouse are so involved with getting Mum to settle into a new way of living. They have taken so much responsibility off our shoulders, such a relief. Mum is encouraged to join in with activities, the nursing team ensure that she is taking her meds regularly and take great care of her (even offering a glass of wine to cheer her). The chef always checks on what Mum is eating, and if she would like anything else. The front-of-house team are extremely responsive, answering all of our many questions and getting things sorted. I can't wait to take Mum to the cinema room, she loved going to the top floor and looking out at the sunset from the glass-walled balcony, Mum was even planning a party there in June 25. The premises are top-notch, so clean, so inviting and comfortable. We did look around a number of care homes prior to Mum moving and no other care home came up to the level of Waterhouse. Thank you to everyone who works there, for your amazing help and support.
Mum has been at Waterhouse Manor since the 23rd of September. She has settled in really well, and although would prefer to be living in her own home, seems very happy. Waterhouse Manor is a beautiful care home and has a homely, cosy atmosphere, but at the same time feels like a 5-star hotel. The staff are excellent! The carers always encourage Mum to take part in the activities that are on offer and are so reassuring when we visit. The management team are very supportive to residents and family and always have everyone's best interests at heart. We were concerned about the transition when our Mum moved into Waterhouse Manor, but everything ran smoothly. All of the staff, from management, carers, receptionists, admin staff, Chef and kitchen staff, housekeeping and wellbeing staff are excellent! We couldn't have wished for any better. Thank you to you all. Mum's room is spacious and cosy, and she has all her things around her to make her feel at home. A huge thank you to all of you.
I looked around several care homes within the local area and Waterhouse Manor was the one that stood out the most for me. A beautiful new home with outstanding service and staff. They took the time to get to know my Godmother and what mattered to her. The moving-in process was seamless and although she had only gone in for a month to see how she felt, in less than a week she had decided to stay on as a permanent resident. My godmother is not always keen to socialise with others and is more than happy to just be in her own company but the staff always try to include her within the many activities that are available within the home, but at the same time respecting her wishes if she does not want to. The family are also included and asked to the events that they hold and you can also have meals with your family member at any time. I would say to anyone looking for a home for their loved one to take a look around. I would be very surprised if you were disappointed!
Choosing a home for a loved one can be a daunting task but the staff at Waterhouse Manor were very supportive and made the whole journey easier. We had several orientation visits with our family member and they were happy to answer any questions we had. They went out of their way to welcome us as a family and not just the resident. They helped us personalise the room with items from home so it really felt like a home from home. I cannot fault the care and support that they give. It is truly personalised care adapting the way things are done to support the individual needs of our loved one. The activities are designed to engage them at an appropriate level and they have arranged trips out and visits which have been amazing experiences. We as are family are always welcome too and it has been lovely that the grandchildren have been able to join in. Thank you to the management team, care staff, activities coordinator, maintenance man housekeeping and the chefs. You do a wonderful job!
