View Full Details of The Manor House Roundhay Care HomeIt's lovely; light, airy, happy vibe, kind staff, very clean and new, and the food's great; beautiful building and a great view over roundhay park... what's not to love. I'd happily move in and curl up on one of the sofas with a book myself for the next year or so! My parents-in-law are treated like royalty; that are very happy staying at The Manor House.
It was a huge decision moving Mum and Dad into a care home and one that took a long time. Mum and Dad loved it from their first visit. The Manor House is like a 5-star hotel and is so beautiful, calm and relaxing. The staff are just exceptional. All of them. They could not do enough for Mum and Dad and all of us, right from their first visit. We initially booked them in for 2 weeks as respite care, Mum and Dad loved it so much, they agreed they wanted to stay. You are always greeted with a warm welcome whenever you arrive and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The manager set us at ease right from the start, she was supportive, understanding, caring and helpful - as are all the staff, right from the barmen and chef to the care assistants and support staff. Mum and Dad are engaged in lots of different activities every day - dancing/ bingo/ quizzes and the food is excellent too. The care shown to my parents is just second to none. I can't thank them enough.
All our family are so pleased that he is staying with you, and please do pass this review on to all the staff. Every member of staff I meet or speak to when I visit are doing a fantastic job, which I'm sure can be very challenging and difficult at times. Everyone treats my father with the upmost respect and has his best interests at heart all the time - they listen to him and give him the care and attention he needs. He has the best quality of life, despite his condition. We are so glad to have moved him to stay with you.
Great care and time has been given to my brother with his dementia to settle into The Manor. Massive peace of mind for all the family, especially his wife. Importantly, he is happier, too. The staff go that little bit more out of their way to help.
My mum has dementia and recently became unable to cope and required a brief time in hospital. We had to remove her from hospital because she was so distressed and after staying with us we realised she needed full-time care. As we walked through the doors of The Manor House we could not fail to be impressed by the beautiful decor but more than that we felt at ease as the manager showed us round. The careful detail to the cafe area, the sweet shop, the self-playing piano and the way the manager knew the name of each resident and stopped to check on them. We of course were more than anxious about how Mum may settle in after the disastrous time in hospital but the carers seem to know just what to do to distract each resident and not only that they were great at putting our minds at rest too. It's never a problem if we want to dine with Mum even on Christmas Day. Mum's life is very full with so much going on to keep them entertained, our favourite being the Strictly Come Dancing final!
Having known my friend and his family for many years I was told he was in the Roundhay Manor on Park Avenue Roundhay. I called to see him last week, well what a fabulous home it is indeed, warm, and friendly it's more like a 5-star Hotel with beautiful views over Roundhay Park. My friend was more than happy there he told me as he proudly took me to see his room and then into the lounge area with a well-stocked bar for a Brandy and Ginger ale or a nice coffee and mince pie, he told me that the food was like a restaurant and what I saw of it was correct. The manager and staff could not do more for my guests and me. I would love to live there myself when I am older. I hope there will be room for me. Thanks to all the staff at Roundhay Manor on behalf of my friend.
My mum is currently residing at The Manor House after a spell in hospital. It's a beautiful home with a kind, caring and very helpful manager. The team are fabulous with my mum who it's fair to say was a little reluctant. Mum is enjoying wonderful food, looks well and seems happy - she's even been enjoying some social activities.
Our mum has dementia and has been in the The Manor House Roundhay Care Home since October, her 3rd care home. We are so fortunate to have found the Manor House, part of the established Anchor Group. The building is amazing, in a fabulous location, overlooking Roundhay Park. Internally, the decor, fixtures and fittings are stunning, more like a luxury hotel than a care home. The care mum is receiving is outstanding, the care team really do care about mum's challenges with dementia and treat her with kindness and dignity. They also try to include her in the varied program of daily activities. The food is amazing too, in beautiful dining rooms. The Management team is professional, kind, efficient, supportive and very approachable. This was so important to us when choosing a home for mum. Care homes aren't cheap, but we were surprised to find that the fees are around the same as we'd been paying at the previous care homes, a result I assume of Anchor being a not-for-profit organisation. Thank you to all.
Mum moved into this home 6 weeks ago, it's a beautiful home with a full programme of varied activities. Mum has dementia and she's been getting increasingly anxious and depressed, the staff have done everything to make her feel welcomed and settled and help her to join in with events. They have reviewed her medication with the doctors and started her on anti-depressants which has reduced her anxiety by a large amount. The staff are lovely and the facilities are second to none and always make us feel welcomed and included. They also bring their dogs in from time to time which Mum enjoys. Having an on-site hair salon and a chiropodist coming in regularly is also a great help. She has a beautiful room with a lovely bay window overlooking the playing fields and I'm sure she will enjoy the balcony overlooking the garden in the summer. I am happy that she's in the best place she can be.
My friend moved into The Manor House 4 weeks ago and in that 4 weeks there has been an immeasurable improvement in her both physically and mentally. I cannot overstate how much we appreciate the efforts of all the staff to help my friend accept her changed circumstances. On entering, you don't think of The Manor House as a Care Home as it most closely resembles a first-class hotel. My friend's room is spacious and beautifully furnished with units where she can display personal items brought from the house that no longer meet her needs, and that gives her the sense of a home from home. The chef adapts his menu to ensure my friend gets to eat food that she enjoys. My friend is happy with her own company and her TV and her decision not to take part in communal activities is respected (although in time of course she may well change her mind about that). The Manor House is very new, but I foresee that it won't be long before there is a long waiting list for rooms to become available.
My father arrived in the care home about a week ago. He had been in another home but moved him because of the proximity to my sister's house. He has dementia, and has become completely disengaged from any socialisation. We were worried about the move, however - can't believe the difference in him within one week. The staff have been incredibly patient and encouraging and he is a different person. He got involved with the group and seems very happy. We are delighted.
My Dad became a resident on 25 November. The staff have been so lovely and he has settled in really well. I was worried that he would be unsettled but he is very content and everyone has been so kind and caring from day one. Thank you so much.
My mum has only been in the home for a week so far, so she is still settling in, however the staff have made her feel really welcome from the moment she walked in and we know she is being well looked after. Mum has dementia and although in the mid-stages, she needs care and 24-hour support. The facilities in her room to monitor movement/falls are excellent and give us the peace of mind that she is safe. Mum's not a big eater and is limited in what she can eat, so she probably can't give the food the credit it deserves, but the menus are varied and she's enjoyed her food so far. She likes to graze, and she loves cake! There are freshly made cakes every day and she eats a couple in the lovely lounge. She has enjoyed the activities which keeps her engaged with the other residents and staff. The home is like a hotel, has a lovely feel and outdoor areas and gardens. The staff are caring, engaging and helpful and I would recommend anyone to go visit. Thank you!
My mum has been in The Manor House for 3 weeks now and has settled in well. It was a difficult decision moving her into a Care Home after having lived independently. Sadly in the last few months she has needed support at home, carers and meals on wheels. My wife and I spent a lot of time choosing the right care home for her. The quality of The Manor House, Roundhay, speaks for itself with a luxurious standard of living. However, the personal support and care offered from staff was also a major consideration. Everyone has been kind, considerate, supportive and approachable. At the same time treating Mum with respect, but also understanding how difficult it has been for us as a family. Mum has now got her social life back and is enjoying the many activities The Manor House has to offer. The food menus are varied with plenty of choices, and of a very high standard. It is lovely visiting her in her new home, knowing she is receiving quality care and support 24 hours a day. Thank you all.
I have been impressed by the kindness and caring shown to my Mum since her arrival at the Manor House. Coupled with the lovely food and the beautiful surroundings after a few days she was much more like her old self, responding to the help and support she has been given. The Manor House staff have given me my Mum back and it's wonderful to see her blossoming under their care. Thank you to all the staff for their kindness to her and to me. I would recommend the Manor House to anyone looking for residential care in a purpose-built home.
My mum has moved in The Manor. It is a lovely home, five star property but more importantly five star care. All the staff are caring and friendly. The manager was extremely helpful, assessing mum quickly so she could go straight from hospital. Lovely cafe/bar area where we can have a drink and cake when visiting, so we aren't always in her bedroom, important when friends visit. Such a relief to know mum is in such a caring place with lots of activities if she wishes to join in.
This new residential care home is such a wonderful place. My partner's Father is resident and it is quite evident that during my many visits during the past 2 weeks since opening, he is receiving the most attentive care from such a wonderful group of caring, carers. It is beautifully furnished and has every comfort a resident could wish for. The food served to the residents is above and beyond what may be expected and certainly matches the quality of any top-class restaurant. Daily activities are now taking hold where both residents and visitors are encouraged to join in. Well done and full credit to the management and staff.
The Manor House at Roundhay is a very special place. My Father was the second resident to arrive on Open Day last Monday. The building is nothing short of magnificent. There has been no expense spared on the construction and the interior is fitted out and furnished to the standard of any 5-star hotel in our city. It doesn't stop there. The house manager is so passionate about her home and is supported by an amazing team of friendly and happy staff. After just one week it is evident every member of staff that has been recruited is committed not just to achieving the highest standards in their work roles, but every single one of them cares so much to ensure each resident is made to feel so special and important. My Dad who is at the age of 95, and a very switched-on 95 is as happy as have seen him in a long time. It is so reassuring for our family to know Dad is safe, cared for and literally living in a place of real luxury.
Not only is the building 5* but all the staff, under the watchful eye of the amazing manager, are super attentive, ultra caring and just wonderful human beings. I cannot recommend the place too highly and would suggest anyone looking for a caring home, rather than just a care home, for their loved one, need look no further.
