I cannot praise Kingfisher's Nursing Home enough, they are the kindest most loving group of people you could wish to meet. My husband was a resident for a short while before he passed away but the care was wonderful. Since he died they have been my lifeline, I have been welcomed back to do some gardening and often sit on the patio with many happy residents enjoying the sun and cake. Everyone there are so happy is is a pleasure to walk through the door. Outstanding they are. I cannot recommend the home enough.
My mother in law resided at Kingfishers receiving palliative care for the final month of her life. Her care was thorough and the staff genuinely cared about her and her needs which gave us a lot of comfort at a very difficult time.
The Kingfisher answers all my needs. I am 94 and am very grateful for the kindness and help I get from all the staff. I feel safe and happy. There is always some activity going on morning and afternoon, should I want it. Also the wonderful mini bus, the good food and lovely gardens. Thank you Kingfisher.
From the first time I visited Kingfishers to view for a very dear friend I was greeted with lovely smiley faces from everyone I met. Very impressed with everything I saw. I am very pleased with the care received.
I have been well looked after by a very friendly, kind and caring team. Everyone has been so cheerful, always smiling. They have helped and encouraged my recovery. The food has been excellent - a wide choice of menu and well presented. Thank you everyone.
The welcome at the home was excellent. The resident settled in within just two weeks and feels the experience is on par with a hotel. He enjoys the social aspect of the home and the laughter experienced adds to the relaxed atmosphere. Any concerns/issues related around our lack of understanding and the staff learning his specific needs, feedback was readily received and acted upon. As ever, there are some opportunities for improvement but I am confident the management will embrace constructive feedback.
Enjoyed very much the carnival and procession and also the school carol service was lovely and well attended. The staff are very respectful friendly and encouraging. I would certainly recommend the home to others.
We brought my sister-in-law to Kingfishers from Cornwall in November 2022, due to her worsening medical problems. We certainly chose the best place. Her care has been exemplary. Thank you so much to the manager and her team for making her time with them so enjoyable. Even though she was wheelchair-bound, she was encouraged to join in the many activities and special occasions organised and she participated with enthusiasm. We had planned to give this review on her first anniversary as a resident, but sadly she passed away all too soon. It does not alter the fact, however, that we wholeheartedly recommend Kingfishers for the top-class, all-round care they provide.
I like the musical entertainment. I like the activities. There is always something going on and the staff make it fun. I love musical shows and enjoy taking part in the choir.
Very good care from all staff working at the home. I feel safe here and comfortable.
I came to Kingfishers for respite after an injury. I was treated with care, courtesy and kindness by all staff - from reception to carers, cleaners, catering staff, events organisers, nurses and managers etc. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend Kingfishers.
I have been here for nearly a year and have been very happy and well looked after and highly recommend it. It is like my second home.
I am very happy here. I like my room because of the view. I also enjoy the music and bus trips. Also, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The whole thing is amazing.
I came here for a 2 week trial, enjoyed the break so decided to live here full time. Everything is extremely pleasant - staff, the lovely garden, entertainment, activities and food. I am extremely happy.
I have always been welcomed into Kingfishers by friendly and kind staff. It is a beautiful home, very well run, good food, activities are fun for the residents with minibus trips regularly organised. My friend has recently passed away, but I shall still support and visit the home. I will certainly recommend anyone who is looking for a lovely care/nursing home.
My father was resident in Kingfishers for 6 years. He was frail when he arrived but with the support of all the staff, plus good and timely medical care from the nurses and surgery his health improved. He enjoyed being looked after by the lovely staff and especially enjoyed the excursions out on the minibus trips to the forest, the coast or local pub. He also looked forward to the boat trips.
I came to Kingfishers to see what I could do to improve my life as home had become isolated. I have a pleasant room, a wide variety of activities to join in and most important of all, friendly people as residents and a good caring staff. This is just what I need to 'take me to 100 and beyond'!
I came for respite care for 2 weeks following a hospital visit. The welcome was wonderful and I was quickly made to feel at home. I enjoyed the entertainment especially the musical ones and my bedroom was beautiful looking over the gardens. The food is first-class and has helped me to recover from stomach problems.
I have been very happy here. The staff have been friendly and helpful - they try to provide some sort of activity most days to get us out of our rooms and to mix with other people. I am grateful for the help that the staff give to us and their cheerful approach to their job.
I am writing this with huge sadness, however, this is a big thank you for making my lovely mum's time in Kingfishers so good. She took part in the activities as much as she could and she thoroughly enjoyed being sociable until her final days when the care and sensitivity shown was faultless. It was good to know she was in a safe place. Also, thanks for the help given to me along the way at a difficult time.
