View Full Details of Birchmere House Care Home - Avery HealthcareMy mother underwent a Hip operation which unfortunately had complications following a lengthy stay in Hospital she spent 6 weeks at Birchmere to allow full recovery prior to going home. All the staff from Management to Carers were always very approachable, friendly + professional. My Mom enjoyed the many activities + socialising with other residents. On leaving my Mother stated that her time at Birchmere had prepared her both physically & mentally to return home. As a family we were very pleased with the home & care she received & would recomend to other potential residents.
I wanted to say how much wonderful loving care my mom had at Birchmere House Care Home - Avery Healthcare. The care given was just exceptional, All gave the most loving care. My mom's stay was not long due to her illness but we know as a family my mom could not have ended her days better. With warmest wishes to all the staff, Thank you.
My mother has been entirely bedbound for the past six months. She suffers from advanced dementia and pain from a hip fracture operation that was not altogether successful. My mother's condition was an unending worry for me before Birchmere House Care Home accommodated her and I could no longer cope with the work and stress of looking after her, even with the intervention of home carers. Fortunately, Birchmere has taken care of everything and my mother is as settled as she can be having regard for all of her difficulties. The nursing and caring staff know precisely how to deal with this situation and I am safeguarded from receiving regular disturbing telephone calls. The environment generally feels quiet and unpanicked and the staff never complain about being overburdened or rushed. Above all, Birchmere has been flexible in meeting my requirements and is sympathetic to my challenges and my mother's.
My relative was admitted into hospital from Birchmere House early October due to dehydration which led to sepsis; one month later as family we were told that after Birchmere House having been their home for 2.5 years they were no longer welcome back and so were left homeless. The response to this review from the Home Manager will be that a 'considered and full assessment' was carried out and Birchmere House could not meet the change in needs. It wasn't, my relative was asleep when the assessment took place. If you value your, or indeed your loved ones, long-term changing care needs please not Birchmere House.
Staff pleasant, always a smile for you. Catering staff really nice, always time for a chat. Great variety of meals and of a high standard, wine and beer available if desired. On the negative side, the time it takes for staff to attend if residents call button has been pressed can take up to 10 minutes or more! Definitely more staff needed on all floors. Also after 5.30 nobody on reception so when visitors leave you can't get out as a code is needed, so then you have to hunt around to find a member of staff.
Dad moved to Birchmere House Care Home just 10 days ago and received a warm welcome from all staff. Our family are delighted to have him back near us and the activity timetable on offer gives dad such a variety of things to try and get involved in. This has had an immediate positive impact on his mental well being. Birchmere House give the best home we could hope for.
I always feel that the staff at Birchmere House Care Home care about all. I had a birthday recently and the staff here were wonderful. They came to my room to wish me well, once with birthday cake, with cards and generally, with good wishes. I was made to feel that this was my home and they were my friends. I recommend anyone to come here and be pleased to talk to anyone about how good it is to live here.
A very good, kind caring service for my mother since arriving in January this year from hospital. She has really improved both physically and mentally since arriving due to the lovely activities and stimulation she receives on a daily basis. Thank you and keep doing this as it is a huge blessing for her and us, as a family, to know she is so well looked after.
My mother has only been in the care home for a couple of months, she has been treated wonderfully, the staff are so caring, kind, helpful and treat my mother with dignity, as a family we know that she is safe, cared for and loved. It is lovely seeing Mum join in with the activities. All the best.
I find visiting Bichmere House a pleasure. The staff always offer a warm welcome and keep me informed with regard to my mother. I am pleased with the care and support the staff offer to my mother. The food is very good and varied and they all work hard with extra activities to give all residents something to look forward to. Birchmere House and the rooms are kept very clean and make it a lovely environment in which to love.
I visit this home regularly to visit a family member. The staff are professional, friendly, helpful and very caring. All of the management staff are very professional, informative and amenable. The staff always welcome feedback and management acts on any recommendations. It is a pleasure to visit on every occasion. As a nurse visiting many homes, in my professional capacity, I can honestly say I have never visited a home of such excellence. I wish you all every continued success, keep up the good work!
Having spent 6 months in various hospitals I was hoping to find somewhere she could receive the care and attention she required. Initially, it was quite difficult knowing who I should address about different problems but the managers and nursing staff are always polite, friendly, and helpful and will work with you to resolve any difficulties you may have. As with all new experiences, there is a settling-in period which I was aware of and now both Mum and the family are getting to find our way and she has settled well.
I feel at home. All staff are outstanding. My thanks to all.
My father transferred to this care home approximately 6 weeks back, due to his home where he had been for a number of years closing there nursing floor. This was an incredibly stressful time for Dad and all his family. I feel it appropriate to pass on feedback on what a gorgeous, safe and caring home this is. The transition was smooth and compassionate and the efforts to settle Dad and the family were just incredible and very heartwarming and sincere. This is a true 'home' for the residents, and every staff member there, from the management, carers, nurses, admin, maintenance, housekeeping, kitchen staff etc. show that they really care and are passionate to ensure that their residents live their very best life. As someone who has a lot of experience working in this industry, I feel that Birchmere truly 'showcase' older people's care.
My relative has been in Birchmere House Care Home - Avery Healthcare for just a few weeks. He is very happy and thoroughly enjoys the very wide range of varied activities. There really is something for everyone! He says the food is superb, and cannot fault it. He has a super room, his room, and the whole home is spotlessly clean. This is truly better than his previous care home on all counts. The gardens are lovely, one warm afternoon I dropped by my relative was seated with several other residents outside enjoying an ice cream with the carers. They really look after them very well. Care or attention needed during the night is quick. They went to great lengths over the first week to sort a suitable bed for him too!
My son has been in Birchmere House Care Home - Avery Healthcare for over six months now following a series of strokes. He is very young at 58 but is treated with dignity and compassion. I know he is safe and very well cared for. All the staff are lovely and very professional. They care for my wellbeing as well as my husband's.
All staff are friendly and helpful. Everywhere is kept clean and tidy and mother's needs are all taken care of with no problems. Highly recommended.
