My mum wanted to try respite in a care home, and after looking at a couple of homes, Halecroft stood out. The staff were very welcoming and assisted in making my mum comfortable which was very helpful as my mum was quite anxious about the experience. There was truly individualistic care offered by all the staff. The food had not been particularly appetising initially, however, this had already been recognised, and a new chef started whilst she was there. The food quality was excellent following this. There were staff available when needed, and the home was warm, clean and comfortable. There were a variety of activities on offer, but my mum also liked that she could pick and choose activities of her choosing and have the flexibility of food in her room if she wasn't feeling well. I was very impressed with the communication from the staff, particularly the new customer relations manager in helping me navigate the introduction to care and also in managing my mum's anxieties.
Christmas at Halecroft Grange was fantastic, everyone made such an effort to give the residents the best time. From the huge tree in reception to the decorations, the daily activities and the vast amounts of food. To name but a few, mum attended quizzes, parties, choirs, had singing around the piano and went to the market stalls set up in reception. It's so lovely to see mum living her best life and surrounded by lovely people, she has a better social life than me! I wouldn't want it any other way. Thanks to all.
My father has just passed away a few days ago at Halecroft after a short illness. The care of the staff and respect have been second to none. The dignity and respect, they gave him, and us as a family, has been amazing. Kindness beyond words to him and us. During his time at Halecroft, a total of 11 months, he was so happy and settled there. he thoroughly enjoyed all the activities, and the food too. A very big thank you to all the staff.
The care is excellent. However, I am not impressed with the car park. One day my car was damaged and whoever did it just drove away without saying anything. I noticed signs up saying CCTV in operation only to find that there were no cameras so I couldn't find out who had hit me. I think it's misleading to say there are cameras when there are not. Other car park issues are people taking two spaces parking their cars. Not sure how this can be solved apart from putting a sign on the cars telling them.
Halecroft is an excellent care home. My mother is very happy, she has new friends and the staff and management are wonderful. Any concerns are welcomed and resolved. My mother joined in all the activities and had her wish recently a visit to the seaside organised by the activities staff. Halecroft has beautiful gardens and the home is spotless. I cannot recommend Halecroft highly enough, it is a happy home and deserves their latest award, it is 'Outstanding'.
My Mum started with dementia and could no longer live at home. With utmost care, we chose Halecroft Grange to be her home. For a year she lived in the general community but last year she moved to Reminiscence where her needs could be better met. Her dementia has progressed rapidly and she is no longer able to join in activities or feed herself. The care team have ensured she is well looked after and patiently sits by her to feed her at every meal. She is always dressed in clean clothes and is bathed very regularly. Staff stop to talk with her even though she is not always able to answer coherently. If she is very tired she is put back to bed and allowed to rest til she feels more alert. She has had several falls due to her condition and these have been dealt with professionally. An important feature for me, the home is spotlessly clean and there is never a smell. The staff have become my extended family, it's a loving place.
Halecroft Grange has a wonderful atmosphere and the residents always seem fully occupied and engaged in the main areas. I always visit unannounced and have always found the staff welcoming and kind, My mother is very happy with the home and all the residents I have spoken to also seem content with the levels of service they receive. My only slight concern is the food variety and quality could be improved a little. Other than that I am very happy with the home.
This care home is truly amazing, the staff and carers go above and beyond with everything - Dad is so well looked after at Halecroft, there is such a variety of activities to keep them occupied and engaged. It is very clean and the food is lovely - he is very very happy here.
My friend has been at Halecroft Grange for just over 12 months, where his care has been exemplary. It is so good that I thought of checking myself in for a month. The staff could not be more attentive to my friends' needs. The management have things really well organised, such that at set times, without fail, in my experience, a carer will appear with his medication. I have eaten with my friend on three occasions and always clear my plate. I cannot fault the food. I am not looking forward to spending time in a care home, but should I need to, this is where I would want to stay.
When visiting Halecroft Grange I have always found all the staff extremely helpful and friendly with a very warm and welcoming manner. The atmosphere is always homely and looks spotlessly clean. Always a pleasure to visit Halecroft Grange!
Having enjoyed a respite stay at Halecroft in the Autumn of 2023, my mother-in-law was very pleased that there was space for her to move in on a permanent basis this January. She has been greeted like an old friend by residents and staff alike and was delighted to find her new room was on the same floor so she recognised the team looking after her. Our family are delighted with the support and care that the team at Halecroft offers. She has been able to bring furniture, ornaments and pictures from home and her room has a delightful aspect and she is settling in well with these familiar things around her. She is already making use of the on-site hair salon and takes part in many of the activities and visits on offer. We are able to relax knowing she is very comfortable, safe and well cared for and most importantly happy in her new home!
My parents, both in their 90's, have both recently moved into Halecroft Grange Care Home. My father initially, who lost his mobility after hospitalised illness, my mother, to be with my father. Their transition has been made easier by the care shown by the staff at the home who have been excellent at welcoming them into their new environment.
Mum has now been a resident at Halecroft Grange for some six months and has settled in well and still greatly enjoying her life there. Every time I visit, she comments on the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff who are constantly cheerful and reassuring which is certainly borne out by my own experience of meeting them. The activities continue to engage her, but she says that if she wants to spend a quiet day in her room then this is fine and meals are brought to her as is her breakfast every morning. The improvement in her health and spirit from when she was living on her own has been commented on by friends and family who visit.
My mother passed away on July 31st after a long struggle with delirium and various health issues over many years. I am still overwhelmed when I think of the exceptional kindness and care she received from each member of the team at Halecroft Grange. This kindness was extended to her family too. She felt safe and appreciated how wonderful everyone was. I am so thankful she spent her last few years somewhere where facilities, food, ambiance, and care were 5 star. I have thanked as many people as possible personally and extend my gratitude once more.
I cannot praise Halecroft Grange enough. The service received from my initial enquiry was outstanding. One member of staff in particular was so helpful and so kind too when looking at moving my father in! She has an amazing calming influence which is just what I needed. When my father then moved in it was only supposed to be temporary but the care, attention, and love the staff showed him made our decision easier and he now lives there permanently. The staff are all wonderful. Every time I’m there the kindness and attention they show all the residents is outstanding. My father has settled so well. The communication with me too has been such a help. I really cannot praise Halecroft enough. Huge thanks to two other members of staff in particular too! Amazing ladies!
My mum has been at Halecroft Grange for four months and I can not praise our experience highly enough. The building itself is bright and spacious and immaculately clean. The gardens are well-kept and sheltered and Mum enjoys sitting out in the fresh air with “the other girls”. The menu is varied and Mum, who is quite choosy about what she eats, comments that she enjoys her meals. The staff monitor what the residents are eating and an eye is kept on their weight. Daily activities are planned to stimulate residents socially, physically and mentally and Mum has enjoyed two trips out in the minibus. The staff are truly wonderful and go above and beyond to provide a safe and caring environment. Nothing is too much trouble. It is such a relief to know that Mum is much happier and healthier than she was before she came to Halecroft and is being cared for by such kind and positive people.
My mother is 92 and visually impaired and after an awful experience in a previous residential home, we decided to move her from there after only a week. I contacted the manager at Halecroft Grange and we met to discuss my mother's requirements. She was able to answer any questions I had and reassure me that my mother would be well cared for. After agreeing to move my mother there for the first few weeks confirmed it was absolutely the correct decision. Halecroft Grange is a wonderfully run residential home with lots of daily activities to stimulate my mother. Staff and residents have welcomed her and the team has worked hard to help her build friendships. My mother said the other day that the staff were perfect which says it all.
Mum moved here in April. This was daunting at first but from our very first contact, our experience has been nothing but positive. All the staff are smart and professional but above all, they are caring. Every single member of staff I have met has been friendly, cheerful and obliging. Mum’s personal carers have definitely made an effort to get to know her which makes a big difference to her. They treat her with dignity and respect but they also take the time to chat with her like friends. Her room is spacious and spotlessly clean and fresh. The food is varied and well-presented. Every day there are various activities and all tastes are catered for. Mum is wheelchair bound but staff encourage her to take part and make it easy for her. Every day at 3 pm there is a ‘social’ in the Bistro which means Mum has made new friends - and so have we! I feel confident that my mum is happy, safe, respected and well looked after. The home promotes a very happy atmosphere and I highly recommend it.
Halecroft Grange has been a literal lifesaver for my 98-year-old mother-in-law, and life-changing for us in her extended family. My mother-in-law is a fiercely independent person who, up to two months ago, had been living independently but not safely. Mentally and physically deteriorating rapidly, she was no longer able to move safely around her home and was not eating drinking or medicating properly despite some care assistance. As sadly can happen, she was in denial about her condition most of the time-aided by short-term memory loss. We managed (eventually) to get her to Halecroft Grange for a trial-month stay. She was adamant she was only going for a trial happily for her and us after 3 weeks decided of her own volition to stay permanently. This is very much down to the staff at Halecroft Grange. If my mother-in-law had not moved into the home we were very much afraid she would be found dead or very sick in her own home. Thank God she is now safe. Recommended care.
