My mother-in-law is a resident in the Carlyle Suite. The level of care is superb, staff are kind and attentive and have a great relationship and rapport with all the residents. Despite complex needs and often challenging situations staff can see difficult scenarios before they arise and head them off. The home is spacious and always clean and tidy. The entertain staff are engaging and encouraging and offer a wide variety of activities. The food is also of very good quality with a great menu choice offered on a daily basis. We feel very lucky that my mother-in-law is in such safe hands.

My dad moved into the Carlyle Suite in January, all of the staff - from the managers to the care team - have been amazing, they keep in touch with us and let us have progress reports when we visit. The food is exceptional, good quality and very tasty with a variety of meals each day. Activities for my dad to take part in are tailored to his needs and he loves joining in with them. But most of all we like the fact that you are encouraged to visit at any time of the day as they have an open door policy. We are so pleased to have my dad in a safe, secure and happy unit.

My dad moved into Lanercost in February. The staff team are brilliant and know how to work with each resident as each needs are different. They all make you feel welcome when visiting the carly suite, the staff take the time to talk to you and also pass any information to you,l feel very much at ease with him being in there. Which is very good l don't have to make appointments to visit my dad and very happy with the team, you all doing a brilliant job.

Our experience at Barchester Lanercost House - Carlyle Suite has been exceptional. The staff are so caring and kind to my mother and all residents. This is the fourth care home, by far the best home she's been in. Couldn't ask for more.

My father moved to Lanercost House Carlyle Suite last year from another care home. Over the time he has been at the Carlyle Suite he has started to take part in the activities the staff provide. He is also calmer and enjoys having a laugh with the staff. I have seen that the staff at the Carlyle Suite take time to speak and interact with him and others in the home. They also treat him with dignity. This has relaxed my father who now likes being at the home and speaking with the staff.

The Barchester Lanercost House - Carlyle Suite is a lovely place for any resident to stay. The staff are very experienced and highly skilled in their care of the residents. The combination of nurses of all ages works perfectly. They are very courteous and kind under all situations they face, a credit to all!

The care provided to my grandma has been the best she has received to date, and this is home number 4! I love that they have managed to get her involved in activities which no one else has been able to do. The facilities are clean and welcoming.

We came along to the Jubilee family fun afternoon. Brilliant afternoon, well organized, and the activities ladies did a great job. My sister fell unwell, and the male nurse was brilliant with her, thank you so much.

Small home, friendly and compassionate staff. Homely feel and extremely caring around mum. The food is always of a high standard and always welcome family. Activities are always offered, and always keep us up to date with any changes and activities.

We have always been happy with the care and support Mam has been given. During this pandemic, we have found the staff and management (in our opinion) have really excelled, and the correspondence we have received has been good, transparent and truthful. The window visits we have had, the staff have really made us feel good about the visits. At first, I was a bit nervous and unsure about seeing Mam through a window, but they have been good and welcoming. Well done once more to all staff, you are a credit to your profession.

Excellent visit assisted by excellent staff. Only issue from home manager was when I took 2 dogs for window visit. I was told that the dogs were not allowed as they had been COVID free for so long and there will be other residents outside (12 metres away) which there were not!

I couldn't believe the difference from the home my mam was in. You could see the change in my mam immediately. She looked so much happier and started putting weight on immediately. In a year my mam had gone from a size 6 to nearly a size 14 and looks so much healthier and happier for it. The staff are really helpful, and I have no complaints at all.

On each occasion that my wife and I have visited our friend, we have witnessed a high and consistent level of care demonstrated by a range of members of staff. The service provides well for the needs of my friend.

The Carlyle offers an excellent level of provision and care. The staff work very hard to provide a safe and caring environment. Individuals are treated with respect and dignity. Staff work hard to form real relationships with individuals. The physical environment is very well designed and used by staff. Cleaning staff ensure the physical environment is very well looked after. Family members are kept well informed by knowledgeable staff. The activity programme is now improving following the appointment of a specific officer.
