View Full Details of St Clare's Care HomeEverything about the care home is very good. The staff are very caring. All of my father's physical needs and mental needs are well cared for. His care is regularly reviewed by the team and he has regular contact with his GP and other health care professionals.
My wife going into a care home was a massive decision for the family. She has now been in St Clare's for 6 months and she has settled in well. All the staff have been so welcoming and helpful. Visiting has been easy and all the staff have been understanding and very cooperative. Any issues have been promptly resolved. The extensive grounds are ideal for our regular walks. Overall an excellent care home run by a professional and dedicated and caring team.
Some lack of basic care. Call bell left out of reach. Drinks left out of reach. Food not cut up. Food on flat plate. Spoon not given - fork is difficult to use. Not checked after food given, often falls asleep, food cold or spilt over him. Not shaved or given razor regularly. Bad arm not supported.
The staff at St Clare's Care Home provided wonderful care and support to my dad. They all appeared to genuinely care about him and it always felt like I was being so well supported by them too. The range of activities on offer and their commitment to engage residents was particularly outstanding.
I am well looked after but there are one or two exceptions.
Found staff very caring, but a little careless with certain aspects, i.e. mislaying personal laundry and some mislaid medication - all sorted out in the end.
I was very well cared for. The staff are amazing - always caring, good-humoured, fun and very patient.
We have had a family member and family friend in the home over the past 12 months who are residents. The location of the home is great, purpose-built, with lovely windows and parking and access surrounded by a lake and farm animals and well-tended gardens, so a positive place to stay and nice for a walk and also to visit. Care home staff are always welcoming, and the well-being and safety of the residents from my visit and contact with the front desk and kitchen staff have always been very evident and part of the culture and ethos of the care home. Care home fees are expensive, but for the level of care, services available of clothes being washed, staff care costs, food, and hairdressing services, residents have everything they need, along with a large television room. Residents are always safe, and if there are any problems or concerns, the care home manager and her team will always speak to me via phone or via email. Food is always subjective - suggestion - sandwiches should not be served as the main evening meal.
Overall, I am pleased with the care my father is receiving. The staff are very friendly, capable and helpful. The food is really good, and cups of tea/coffee are available when the residents need them. My father is treated with respect, and any medical issues are addressed quickly by the nursing staff. There are many activities and also events, to which family can come.
I have only very complimentary opinions - the staff are always polite, friendly and helpful whenever we visit. When we ask for yea/refreshments, they come with something for us too. Mum is always clean, dressed and content when we visit - staff are able to answer our questions or find someone who knows. Amazing staff, lovely room and fantastic facilities.
I have always felt that St Clare's is well maintained, but more importantly, the staff provide very professional and compassionate care. My one observation is that many residents seem unoccupied. I understand a number of activities take place, but I would like to see more activities for residents as they have sufficient staffing to do so.
My sister has been here for two months. To my surprise, she settled remarkably well and has adapted to a completely new way of life. The staff have all been very caring and helpful, which I feel is the reason why She has settled. She has ear;y dementia and is not very easy to care for at times. There is a pleasant air of calm and airiness throughout the building, which has a very nice setting.
My experince of St Clare's Care Home since my mother has been a resident has been a very good one. Visiting Mum has been a pleasure. All staff and management have been welcoming, and Mum has always looked clean, neat and tidy. Her room is clean, as is the dining room, and the garden is well cared for. She is very happy at St Clare's and is settling in well.
The setting is excellent, and also the atmosphere. The meals are good and varied.
A beautiful place for my mum to spend the last phase of her life. The staff were very experienced in caring for all her needs and ours.
I have already recommended this lovely home to friends and acquaintances. It is a beautiful home, tastefully decorated with a calm, caring and peaceful atmosphere. I shall never forget the sympathetic welcome we received on arriving at the home. My mother's room was prepared, warm, immaculately clean and nothing was too much trouble to settle her in. We felt immediately surrounded by knowledge and understanding. The staff are invariably helpful and kind and great attention is given to my mother's needs, her care being very much centred around her as an individual. The staff take into account and welcome any input from me as an addition to their knowledge of her. I appreciate all the extra care that they take, for example when my mother is too sleepy to eat, her meal is given to her at a time when she is able to eat and they are happy to make her a cup of tea at any time. It is remarkable to see how sensitively and gently the staff manage other residents and the efforts they make to encourage them to be calm, happy and engaged. The staff endeavour to ensure that my mother is comfortable as it is possible for her to be and I am truly grateful.
The care provided is excellent. My mother is extremely complimentary about all the caring staff under excellent management. The carers are so warm and friendly and really cheer my mother up. If I had to give any constructive criticism, I would recommend that all staff on reception should be as warm and friendly as two particular members of staff and their team.
I would highly recommend St Clare's nursing home. The level of care is excellent. The management is very approachable, forward-thinking, positive and motivated to achieve the highest standards of care. My mother has been a resident for two years and is treated with respect, dignity and compassion. The staff are very friendly, kind and approachable, and try to deliver the best care somehow under difficult circumstances!
What a tough year, and how awesome and amazing have the staff and management at St Clare's been. They have all gone above and beyond the call of duty, and I cannot thank them enough for what they have sacrificed and delivered to my auntie.
In the time my friend has resided in the care of St Clare's and prior to that, she has received absolutely wonderful all-round care. Her room is clean and comfortable. The dining room is spacious and clean, and the food she receives has a variety of choice and is both nutritious and invitingly presented. Overall, the standard of care she receives is exceptional. Cared for by the staff with support, respect and dignity, that is evident at all times. Management and staff are willing to go the extra mile to ensure the resident needs are met and, that they are happily content. Activities are encouraged outside of her room, and both inside and outside of the premises, where staff and family can take walks with their loved ones in beautiful grounds. Entertainment is regularly supplied too. Thank you, one and all.
