View Full Details of Winifred Dell Care HomeMy mum, who suffers with dementia, has been residing at Winifred Dell for almost three years. My ratings are 'true' to my experience of the care home. Mum is always encouraged to join in activities, outings, etc., which she happily does. Before choosing Winifred Dell, our family sourced other care homes, but Winifred Dell came out 'on top'. We are so happy we chose you. Keep up the excellent work to management and staff at this particular home.
My mother has been in Winifred Dell Care Home for over 4 years now. I am very pleased with the care, consideration and kindness from all of her carers shown to mum on a daily basis. This home is extremely well run and efficient. It is also spotlessly clean. The food is cooked fresh daily with fresh ingredients and is of a very high quality. There are always various singers visiting and trips out for residents, arts and crafts are also available too.
My mum has been a resident since August and I am so happy for her to be here as the staff are absolutely wonderful from reception to carers to laundry and cleaners. It is spotlessly clean. The activities and entertainment is brilliant for the residents. I can't praise it enough.
A singer was organised for the care home by the lifestyle coordinator who my mum and I found really entertaining. The singer has worked at the care home previously and was able to sing songs that all the residents enjoyed and could sing along with. My mum and I felt it was great to hear and we were so pleased to be part of it. Well done to the care coordinator and the staff.
We are very happy with the care Mum receives. She is always well-presented, happy and stimulated by the activities. The staff are caring and professional.
The overall impression is that it is a very nice home. My friend seems very happy. It's a little hard to review when it's not a relative you are visiting when it might be more frequent visits.
Everything was very good except the food was absolutely disgraceful.
When my mother transferred to Winifred Dell from hospital, she was confused, severely underweight and in need of intense care. In the intervening time she has regained some of her facilities, gained weight and made friends. The care from all the staff has been exemplary and we are extremely grateful that we were able to place her so quickly. The vibe when you walk into the care home is calm, friendly and inviting. We couldn't have been happier.
No lingering smell on entry. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Residents are always clean and tidy. Activities are amazing from sewing to cooking, going out to various venues, tea dances, music for dementia, visiting singers, and various small animals for residents to handle and cuddle. There is always something going on to stimulate the minds of residents.
My mum has been at Winifred Dell for just over a year. She is very settled and used to the home's routine. They are observant regarding her health and bring to our attention any concerns. Sometimes her gluten-free diet is not adhered to - this may be when there are different staff but it is not helped by my mum, not being able to remember herself. The ratio of carers in her section is the main concern that we have, but the actual care received is very good. Thank you.
We are so grateful that Mum lives in such a lovely, friendly facility. She is so happy.
I visited on the occasion of my friend's 91st birthday celebrations. The care home had employed a singer, a man with the right charisma and selection of songs for the age. Most of the residents enjoyed the performance which was excellent.
It was my sister's birthday yesterday and I would like to compliment the staff and the entertainers involved in her afternoon of son and birthday cake etc. The singer was great very much in tune with those he was entertaining and it was lovely to see so many residents (and staff) singing along and in some cases up on their feet dancing. I know a lot of work goes into organising these events and it is really appreciated.
The staff were, without exception kind and pleasant, helpful and caring. The meals and drinks were not always provided as often as I asked. Other than that I will not comment because the day my stay was completed coincided with a change of chef.
My mum has just had her first rest bite stay in a care home. We chose Winifred Dell through word-of-mouth recommendation. We were not disappointed. My mum has thoroughly enjoyed her time there. The staff are friendly and caring. My mum has enjoyed the food and company of the other residents, who are very friendly and welcoming. The building is very clean (and I'm fussy). The hairdresser is lovely. All the residents look so well cared for in their appearance. We are so impressed that my mum has started proceedings to stay permanently.
My mother is very happy here. She feels very safe and secure and likes all of the staff. Whenever I visit my mother is always well dressed and clean and her room and general environment are spotlessly clean. All very good indeed.
A friendly and safe environment. Home and gardens including furniture well maintained. The lifestyle manager works very hard to bring in entertainment for residents and organise external trips. Great that GP visits home twice a week.
My Mother has been at Winifred Dell for over a year now. The staff are so kind and caring and genuinely enjoy the residents (and a low turnover rate must reflect this). The activities are amazing; singing, dancing, visits to local places and when I visited last week they had some puppies meeting the residents! As a family, we feel that my Mother is safe and happy here and thanks go to all the staff.
I have been to visit a friend's mum a few times and I am always struck by the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are so lovely and caring and I was pleased to meet the activities coordinator last week. She had some beautiful puppies visiting which the residents absolutely loved. A truly wonderful place.
Whilst with mum today, two dachshund puppies visited. It was great to see the residents smile. The staff ensured not only were the residents in the lounge visited but also included those residents who were in their individual rooms. The staff are amazing and truly care.
