My mum receives such amazing care at Lavender Court. She loves all the staff who look after her so much. Without exception, staff are gentle, kind, caring and respectful towards Mum and her needs as well as us as a family. My sisters and I thank you all so much for the incredible work you do. Please know how much we appreciate it. We know that Mum is safe, warm and cared for.
My mother is so well looked after. She is very happy and really likes the food. Her room is so nice and looks out onto the courtyard. It makes me feel so pleased to know I don't have to worry about her anymore. I can visit anytime and I'm made welcome. I was so worried when she lived alone and was so ill. Her health has really improvied. Thank you all.
I have always found the caregivers extremely kind to my husband. He always looks clean and well cared for. If there is a problem someone will always ring to put me in the picture.
My husband moved from a previous care home to Lavender Court on 11th June he died there on 23rd July. The premises were always spotless and the staff were most considerate. If I have a complaint it is that there is not sufficient staff. When my husband was critically ill it did seem an age for help to arrive. Remembering those weeks he was there I recall, his room was facing properties on Roman Road and often we had to close the curtains and put the lights on as we were overlooked by people opposite.
The care my brother received was excellent, all staff made mine and my brother's stay as pleasant as it could be. My brother enjoyed talking to the staff and it was clear to see how much the staff cared.
We have experience of two Somerset care homes and this is by far the better of the two - 100% recommend.
My husband has been a resident since May 2020. He was very poorly and had three nurses each day who were helping me to care for him when I became ill. Because of the excellent care he has received, he is still alive. We were told in April he would not survive! My only frustration are the awful communications. Not able to get through on the telephone, unreliable social media connections and no updates on medical issues. Also no record of his pocket money status and when he needed a top-up until recently.
My father has dementia he struggles with change, new faces etc. We had to put him into Lavender Court to provide respite for my mother who has lung cancer. The team at Lavender Court are incredible and has really made dad welcome. Everyone we have had contact with from the lady in finance to the day and night staff they have all been so supportive and helped make what is a really difficult time for our family much easier. To know dad is safe and well looked after and happy makes such a difference.
I was a bit apprehensive about the standard of care in Lavender Court purely due to so much bad press about rogue care homes. I found all members of staff kind, helpful, respectful and knowledgeable. My friend has just passed away this morning. She had a small close family but died with the loving company of a carer and one of your nurses. I spent a night with you and was well looked after. The carers have such good humoured and loving motivation. I would be happy to recommend your care home to anyone.
We are in our seventh year of being in and visiting Lavender Court and am very happy 2with the care and attention she receives. All facilities of the care home are particularly good. She is very happy and comfortable and on her and my behalf I am so glad I chose this care home for her. Thank you so much office and management. Together with activities, cleaning staff and food providers. Well done all of you.
My husband has been in the Rose room for three weeks. He is full of praise for his carers, who he calls the blue angels. They are infinitely patient and very caring and always treat them with dignity. They always treat me with the utmost kindness. I have become very fond of them all.
We visited my dad at Lavender Court. We are happy with the care he receives and all the staff we met were very friendly, and welcoming and took great care of my dad. Overall we were left with a very good impression of all the care my dad receives. Thank you!
My mum has been a resident at Lavender Court for a number of years. She is happy and has a nice quality of life in an environment that is safe and secure. The staff are friendly and helpful and always happy to discuss issues of care and provide updates.
I am extremely dissatisfied with the management and leadership at Lavender Court who have presided over a terrible experience for my Mother and her relatives. Examples include 1. Staff locking themselves in the nurse's office to avoid patients and relatives seeking help and advice. 2. Under resourcing at weekends resulting in the 30min checks decided as necessary by medical staff not being followed (no checks being recorded on two separate Saturdays). 3. Clothes regularly go missing despite being labelled. 4. My letter of complaint issued in July still remains unanswered. 5. Payment of invoices are being chased that have not been issued. 6. Mum's granddaughter being pressed into giving personal care by a carer as he had no colleague available to assist. The list goes on. Fortunately, my Mum has now been moved to a setting where there are adequate staff to care for her and the seniors show true leadership.
Lavender Court is a wonderful home with staff who always act with the utmost kindness, professionalism and integrity. My grandmother was a patient in the dementia unit for the last two years of her life, having battled with dementia for several years before passing away. My grandmother had severe issues with her sleep at night, and the staff often made her a cup of tea or milk with biscuits to settle her until she became tired enough to sleep. During the pandemic, management took every measure to keep residents safe while maintaining contact with one or two primary contacts. All other family members were able to make appointments to speak to grandma over Skype. The diligence and kindness of the staff at Lavender Court never went unnoticed, particularly her care team and so many other fantastic caring staff. They looked after my grandmother perfectly right up until her final moments, and I cannot fault the home in any way. I would highly recommend it.
A caring environment with friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Good access, and very flexible visiting times. Good Food
Having been discharged from hospital for an expected end of life care period of eight weeks my father was eventually with Lavender Court for fifteen weeks and at the end (when he was unable to fully communicate with me) was delighted to tell me every time I went in to see him, how content he was with the care and attention he received and had nothing but praise for all involved.
My mother has been at Lavender Court for the last seven years. In that time she has been treated with great respect of care. The staff have been fantastic with her even when my mother could be demanding at times. Sadly my mother pass away in February 2022. She was treated with brilliant care in her last days of her life. I can't thank you all enough!
During the last weeks of my dad's life, the staff at Lavender Court could not have done more for him or me. He was cared for with dignity, respect and love. All the carers and management went above and beyond to make him comfortable, happy and secure. When his time came and he passed away, the support I received was tremendous. Nothing was too much trouble, and the tea was much welcomed. Five stars are not enough.
Mum moved in just before Christmas. She was very anxious and sad, but the staff have been amazing, and she has settled in very well. Mum really enjoys the food, and they regularly get brought drinks/snacks. The staff are also very supportive to us as well. The home has a very warm, welcoming feel, and the staff seem to really care about the residents.
