View Full Details of Winchester Heights Care Home - Avery CollectionMy Godmother came to Winchester Heights in rather a rush as she had become increasingly frail and nervous. The team there were amazing at making her feel at home. We had a long journey from Penzance and could not tell them when we would arrive however the care manager changed his shifts to be there to greet us and make sure my godmother had all the equipment, medical care etc. she required. The care team were so friendly and reassuring and the management knew the residents as individuals.
Winchester Heights Care Home is a very professional and friendly care home. Nothing is a problem and you feel very comfortable having someone you care about being looked after by them. I have experienced many care homes and Winchester Heights wins hands down.
I am very happy living here and the staff are very kind. My room has a lovely view of the garden and the food is very good.
We are delighted with the quality of care we have experienced. It is noticeable how well the residents are cared for and we would particularly note the home's cleanliness and how friendly and approachable the staff are.
We booked my Mum for a respite stay at the Winchester Heights Care Home, she has dementia and is in the Willows. On visiting we can see that she has loved every minute of her stay so far and is enjoying her stay and seems the most relaxed I have seen her in ages. I would recommend this care home and the atmosphere and lovely caregivers and the team at this care home for their help and caring for my Mum.
My auntie has now been a resident in Winchester Heights since October 2023. All I can say is that the whole experience for both her and ourselves has been exceptional. The best compliment I could give is that if I should need their services (hopefully never) I would insist that I was placed there. It truly is a 5-star establishment.
Two years ago I took the decision to move from the house I was born in and come to Winchester House. From the moment I first visited I felt a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and a sense of community. Since moving in, I know that to be true. I love my room and the way my independence is supported and encouraged. I do enjoy the activities, particularly art, live music and talks. A lot has changed and not everything is perfect but the staff are wonderful, I'm happy, safe and well cared for.
We cannot thank all members of staff enough for their kindness and help in accommodating our relative at very short notice and helping her to settle in such a safe, warm, friendly and welcoming environment.
All staff have been extremely welcoming to my Dad and have helped him to settle in quickly and feel at home. Winchester Heights is a lovely, friendly place to visit. We have been particularly enjoying having a cuppa in the beautiful garden as it starts to get warmer.
Winchester Heights is a lovely place to live. My mum settled in extremely well and has had a new lease of life these past four months. Absolutely all the staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive and work together to create a warm, happy atmosphere. The reception team are very welcoming and can help you with anything! The activities staff do a great job of organising a wide range of fun sessions and interesting outings in the minibus. Mum has tried lots of new things, made new friends and had a laugh in the process. The food is very good, nicely presented and with lots of choice and flexibility. Care staff are kind, respectful and thoughtful, remembering the little things in life. The management team are also very visible. A couple of issues I raised were dealt with quickly, efficiently and with positive outcomes. In short, Mum is happy so are we. I couldn’t have chosen better and feel as much a part of the place as she does! Oh and the coffee and cake is very good!
Our experience with Winchester Heights extended for four months, during which we were able to observe the quality of the care and nursing at close quarters and to get to know many or most of the staff and the management team. We were impressed with every aspect of the operation, with the calm dedication of the whole team and would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone seeking either respite or permanent care.
The moment you walk through the doors you can sense the lovely atmosphere here. My mother moved to Winchester Heights in June 2023 at the age of 96 and we've been extremely happy with her care. The care staff are kind, patient and positive even under the most difficult of situations. Mum is lucky enough to have a room with doors opening onto the pretty garden and a lovely view from her chair. The activities team do a magnificent job of offering an array of things to do: exercise classes; flower arranging; bingo; art classes; pamper sessions; quizzes - even a making mojito session! Entertainers visit regularly to sing or give concerts and there are regular trips out. Communication with relatives is excellent and management is always willing to listen, take on ideas or iron out problems. The ladies on the reception desk are wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend this home.
I very much enjoyed my four and a half week stay. Residents and staff made me feel very welcome. There was varied entertainment every day and I shall miss the friends I made.
Our relative resided at Winchester Heights for a brief period but during that time he could not have had more care and attention from the wonderful staff. All members of staff bent over backwards for him and the family during a difficult time, just wonderful. The organisation were excellent at helping to transfer from hospital and made the entire experience a lot easier.
Winchester Heights have been so caring of my Mum. All the staff treat the residents like family and encourage the residents to join in with activities of their interest. Family members are welcomed and encouraged to join in with entertainment.
A great friend of ours was a resident in Winchester Heights (formerly Sunrise and Signature) for several years. During this time he became increasingly disabled, eventually being bedridden. I visited him regularly, about once a week. At all times I found that the carers looked after him very well, with professionalism and cheery empathy. As a visitor, I found the staff always most helpful to me, and after time I regarded some of them as real friends.
Winchester Heights is an excellent care home. The staff are very kind and caring. A variety of activities are available each week, as well as a beautiful garden to sit in. My mum was well looked after during her stay here.
Very caring, compassionate and interested staff. Very good nursing with good relationship with local GP practice. Very friendly atmosphere and excellent cuisine by experienced chef. Well appointed public rooms offering relaxing setting for residents and guests. Well organised and full activities programme. An all round supportive operation that gave me confidence as a power of attorney that that my friend was being well looked after.
Signature has been brilliant at looking after my father, and he was not an easy man. One gentleman, in particular, was amazing and couldn’t do enough. The care and attention the team offered, especially as my father's health declined, were wonderful, and I couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you to all the team.
All the staff at Signature made Mum’s difficult transition from independence to care home life very smooth. I have nothing but praise for the Signature Winchester team - whether care and nursing staff, activities’ organisers, reception and housekeeping, catering etc. The facility is clean, comfortable and very pleasant to visit. The food is good too!
