View Full Details of Tallis HouseMy mother has been at Tallis House since September last year (2024). My Mum's dementia got worse after another stroke she had and she was struggling day to day with her memory which meant she was vulnerable and at risk at home. Since she moved to Tallis House she has settled in really well and quite quickly. All the staff have been so helpful and have been so nice to my Mum which helped her settle in and feel comfortable and she couldn't be happier here, seeing her smile again and laugh and enjoying her life stress-free is the icing on the cake. They organise lots of activities and Mum really enjoys these and has made friends with both residents and staff, she enjoys the food and the trips out and I enjoy spending time at Tallis with her as well. I wanted to say a massive thanks to all the staff you do an amazing job and I am so grateful as my Mum means the absolute world to me. Thank you.
It was with great hesitation that Dad had to have 24-hour care. Tallis House is most definitely the best care home for Dad's care needs. From the moment Dad arrived we were welcomed by a smiling face and a happy-to-help receptionist. I can honestly say that Tallis House has been the best decision I've made for my dad. The carers are welcoming and made him feel right at home with happy faces, caring nature, empathy, patience and understanding of all Dad's care needs. Constantly checking on Dad and making him tea. Dad loves the food, and I can bring Dad treats anytime for him. From receptionist, carers, management and the whole team on Dad's floor the care is outstanding. Nothing is too much for them. Tallis House is modern, bright, clean and welcoming and the dinners are freshly cooked on-site and Dad definitely enjoys them. I'm so pleased with the care my dad is receiving and continues to receive. I have no fears when I leave after visiting my dad because I know he's in excellent care.
Sadly my mother passed away last night at the age of 95. However, I wanted to say how massively grateful I am, and have been for the past 3.5 years, to all of the staff at Tallis House for the way they took care of her during her time there. She came to the home after a bad experience in a previous care home, she was active and able to look after herself but had become vulnerable due to falling quite a lot in her own home and it was time to be somewhere with 24/7 care. During her first 2.5 years she was extremely happy with both the social activities and friends she made in the home and loved all the staff, sadly as Alzheimer's progressed she was in need of more care but the care team quickly identified the best support and provided me with frequent updates and recommendations. During the last few months of her life and especially the last two weeks, the care given by the team cannot be faulted. a most sincere thank you to all of the staff.
My wife has been at Tallis House since April 2024 after looking at alternative sites and I am happy to say that we made the right choice. I have always found all the staff very helpful, caring and supportive giving me peace of mind. The medicine, food and cleanliness support has been very good and I am particularly pleased with the activities that the residents are given and that they are encouraged to join in. Thanks to everyone there.
I'm very pleased with the care my father receives and communication is good which is very important in care. He is listened to which is important to him. In personal care, he is made to feel comfortable by the staff and they treat him with the utmost respect. He treats the staff as part of his family so this makes him feel at home. If we as a family have any issues, it is dealt with straight away. Tallis House has catered for all his needs in a very caring way. He is very happy after having made a decision to place him in a home. As a family, we are more than pleased. I know I can now enjoy him as a daughter again and that is so important. Thank you to all those at Tallis from management down to carers who work so hard.
Tallis House is an amazing place and my Nan is very happy at Tallis House. All the staff are amazing and very attentive towards my Nan and from what I see other residents. Thank you for what all the staff do.
My children go to the primary school next door, they loved there weekly visits to see the residents or neighbours as they used to call them, to read and sing songs and we also had a family friend who was also a resident and I can honestly say all staff were always helpful and welcoming when we would visit.
My mother is quite settled within the home, and we are happy as a family for her to continue her stay there, she mainly stays in her own room (although she is encouraged to join in with activities but refuses). The caregivers seem kind and supportive to my mother's needs. My only two concerns are that her dietary needs are not always met and she is given foods which she is not allowed (she gets an upset tummy if given these) we have witnessed this as family members and have informed staff on a number of occasions. My second concern is that at times I have found medication on the floor or on her bed that she has not taken, this has again been mentioned to staff members. And have been told this would be recorded and looked into.
The staff are all lovely and caring. My Dad is taken out on regular trips which he loves doing. My Dad says the food is not great but it always looks OK to me although I have never tasted it. Hot and cold drinks are provided regularly throughout the day.
Beyond relieved that my mum is in such a caring and supportive environment with all staff giving 100% to make the residents lives enriched, safe and happy. They also go above and beyond to work with family offering great communication with families. The social media page is a great way of knowing what mums been upto and is very helpful when it comes to visiting her, we always have plenty to chat about. She seems to get out more than me these days!
My mum went to Tallis house as part of a short-term care following time in hospital. After the care my mum received it was not hard to decide for her to stay there permanently. All the staff I have interacted with have been friendly and professional. Activities provided are varied and you can tell that the staff really enjoy spending time with the residents. Mum seems very settled now and always tells me how happy she is there.
First class service. Always ring and inform me of visits, doctors and trips. Cleanliness superb of resident and the home itself. Atmosphere friendly, staff always present and deal with you should you need this.
I find that the care home is very friendly and very relaxed and welcoming. They do activities during the day and also have cinema nights. My Mother is very comfortable and enjoys being there. Making friends and relaxing with them sometimes during the day.
For the 5 months, my husband was at Tallis House, he received good care from carers, enjoyed all the activities and was liked and on good terms with everyone. We were satisfied with everything at that time. However, after a five-day hospital stay, the Management decided against his return, saying his needs were now too complex, though were, in fact, no different. Hospital staff and doctors were shocked by this, especially as it was they who had to give us this bad news. Tallis Management did not call me. Whilst both care and domestic staff did ask, at no time did any of the management ask how he was, even when our daughter went to clear his room - though she was let into the House by the manager herself! As I had visited every day of those 5 months, and my daughter regularly, we were on first-name terms with everyone, so expected better of Tallis Management, and I am bitterly disappointed in their lack of courtesy and concern. So sad to end the relationship on such a sour note.
Tallis House gives an excellent service. All the staff treat my husband with respect and kindness. I know that he is in good hands. I know that if there is an issue then it will be sorted out. A small thing, my husband`s Tottenham mug disappeared, taken to the kitchen to be washed I think, and some of the staff were not sure where it came from. I did ask about it and the carer took the trouble to look for it and fetch it back to the room. I am kept up to date regularly on any social events at Tallis House. My husband is not a good mixer, never really was, but his room is in an ideal spot where we can hear all the festivities from there. The staff recently put on a brilliant tea with entertainment for the residents, it must have taken a lot of preparation and hard work but everybody seemed to really enjoy it. The singer was ace!
I couldn't have asked for better care for my mother. The staff are so kind to her and to me. The outings and one-to-one provisions for residents are amazing and they get so many activities within the home.
My Mum went in for 2 weeks of respite 10-24 Dec on the top floor which I think is for advanced dementia. She was very well taken care of by all the team on her floor. I would like to give a special mention to a member of the care team who was very attentive with mum while I visited each time. Thank you very much for all your help while my mum stayed in your care home.
First impressions were really good. When Mum arrived, everyone worked hard to make her welcome and she settled into her new home very well. She loves the activities and seems to take part in most things. Her room is bright and well-kept. Everyone has been very helpful and supportive throughout the settling-in procedure.
Mum is 92 and has memory issues and a few health concerns, which means she’s not able to live safely at home. So in June, we had to make the difficult choice to accept she needs residential care. That’s never an easy decision. But, since she has been in Tallis House, her quality of life and her general health have improved. She gets well cared for; her meds are correctly administered, and the food is excellent. She loves the activities and days out, and she has new friends. As a family, we can now relax knowing that Mum is never alone, never at risk, never more than moments of help if she needs it. And that is a big help.
The home is presented lovely - it’s kept clean and tidy. My grandmother's room is large with an en-suite and overlooks the courtyard, which she has access to via a door in her room. My grandmother has been in the home for 5-6 months - the admission went well, and she settled quickly. The staff are amazing - the team leaders will always listen to any concerns I have and action on anything that needs doing. The deputy is also very responsive and will address any medical concerns we have. The manager is also very approachable. My grandmother has some lovely relationships with the carers, and they have really got to know her and her quirky ways. As a relative to the home, I can honestly say Tallis House is amazing - so grateful that my grandmother is there and has every faith in the staff to look after her. I would highly recommend this home to others - the staff genuinely care, and it’s a lovely environment.
