View Full Details of Springfield HouseMy brother has been at Springfield Care Home in Bath for just over 3 years. During this time he has been happy, relaxed, interested, occupied and the days have been happy. He loves the morning entertainments and usually sings and often joins in with the dancing. It really does feel like a family for him. Sadly a few months ago he became more challenging and his behavior was unpredictable. Nevertheless, the home have called in support and advice and hope to get him through this difficult time with their skill and patience.
My elderly cousin was wonderfully cared for by the team at Springfield House for 15 months prior to her death in November 2024. At all times my cousin was treated with the utmost care and respect. The stuff took time to get to know her as a person and I always left after each visit feeling that she was being well looked after in pleasant and clean home. Her end of life care was exemplary and her every need was taken care of.
In my personal view, Springfield House is the best care home. My mum was at the care home until she sadly died on 31/10/2023. She had been urgently transferred from another local care home after she'd been attacked by another resident. Mum's medical care at Springfield and GP who attended the home were brilliant. Springfield House was faultless in every respect, the staff from cook (lovely food) cleaners, DIY person to the carers, activities staff and the manager feel like friends and family to me. Mum was so happy, able to be herself and her room was clean, calming and safe. It was a real home from home and even her collection of toys was looked after.
Sadly Mum passed away on 8.5.23 and was at Springfield for six months. All the staff were amazing, kind, caring and compassionate. They always made Mum feel at home and gave an exceptional level of care and support for all the family. We can’t fault Springfield at all and it was a joy to see all the staff, residents and Mum in a very happy place. Thank you so much to you all.
Our family has been really impressed with Springfield. We would recommend it without hesitation. Our experience has always been that the staff are extremely helpful, kind and patient. Liaising with various other parties, such as Social Services, Doctors, Hospitals etc, have all been as professional and smooth as one could ever hope. The bedroom is airy and pleasant, with a lovely garden view. The activities on offer are enjoyable and varied. The menu on offer is freshly made and delicious (according to my aunt and even my brother - who was included in a meal on his last visit! Very kindly). We are very pleased with how our aunt has settled in and how happy she seems to be there. Thank you, Springfield; we are truly thankful.
My wife and I are so pleased that my aunt was referred to Springfield from the hospital for respite care - which is now intended to be permanent. The improvements in her physical and mental health - and her happiness- have been little short of miraculous! The staff are professional but lovely with her, the quality of food and care is excellent, the building and its rooms that I have seen (bedrooms, activity rooms, dining rooms etc) are really good, their activities also seem very good and inclusive too - and my aunt certainly enjoys them! This home is far better than any other such home I have ever visited - in a different (better) league. I and my wife are so delighted that my aunt is in Springfield - and we could not recommend it highly enough.
This is an exceptional home. The staff are always available and helpful. It is spotlessly clean and has a great atmosphere. The resident I visit was in a very poor state both mentally and physically, and her transformations since being here are both impressive and astonishing. I have visited my own parents in many care homes, and the manager here is the best I have encountered.
My dad has been a resident at Springfields Care Home since February 2023, and I and my family cannot praise this home and team enough! All of the permanent staff are amazing, attentive and caring and made a massive effort to get to know my dad and sit with him to get him talking. The home and his room are always clean and tidy. The entertainment provided is fabulous, and I have never known a residential home to engage so much with the residents! A massive thanks to all of the staff, from management to the chefs to the care staff and cleaners - you are all Amazing! Would thoroughly recommend Springfields to anyone looking for care and support for someone suffering from Dementia.
My grandad who had been suffering with Alzhiemers for a few years now was welcomed into Springfield after being discharged from hospital with full mobility on the 23.03.2023. Unfortunately his stay at Springfield was rather short as he was admitted back into hospital on the 02.04.2023 for reasons that can only be explained by the carers and the manager at Springfield. We as a family were told 3 different stories as to why an ambulance was called, followed on by the manager not knowing what the carers had said to family and emergency services. We only got confirmation of admission from the paramedics. My grandad broke his hip, had severe dehydration and deteriorated so quickly the nurses didn't recognise him at the hospital. After partial surgery my grandad didn't recover and passed away. We still to this day do not know what happened, notes in the care home had not been accurately recorded, no one wants to discuss anything. It has broken our family. Life has been lost with no answers.
Although mum has now had to move on as she needs dedicated nursing care, I cannot recommend Springfield House highly enough. Dementia is cruel, but mum was treated with respect and kindness at all times by all of the wonderful staff, and was very well looked after during the three months she was there.
Our family recently needed quick respite care for my partner who had dementia while I went into hospital as an emergency patient. Springfield House in Bath was an option and we took the vacancy. The house visit assessment was arranged very promptly and the staff were lovely, treating my partner with the utmost respect. Arriving at the care home, my partner was met at the door and eagerly told that they had been waiting to meet him all day. What a lovely thing to say. Obliviously he was confused because of the dementia with it being a new place but the staff bent over backwards to settle him in and treated him like a king. So nice and caring, giving him tea and biscuits and making sure he was comfortable, reassuring him all the time. Some weeks later my partner fell very ill and I attended the care home every day. The staff were incredibly kind and efficient to us both and nothing was too much trouble for them. Sadly my partner lost his battle for life but I will be forever grateful.
The home is always clean, fresh and well kept. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The residents well cared for and with great respect. Help where required is always given at meals times and throughout the day.
I am pleased that I chose Springfield for my mum. She is happy there and very well looked after. The staff are very caring and the facilities and their upkeep excellent. They have taken steps during Covid to enable what contact has been possible under the ever-changing rules and kept us informed.
My sisters and I have always been very happy that mum is in Springfield. It has been her 'home' for over two and a half years. She has always been made to feel part of the family of carers and residents. Everyone seems to be included in the stimulating day to day busy-ness of the Terrace. When she moved in with her furniture and pictures, her room soon became a familiar and comfortable place.
My husband has been a resident at Springfield for almost 6 months. He has a diagnosis of vascular dementia and requires considerable support to manage his daily personal care and maintain emotional, social wellbeing. All the staff at Springfield are really first-rate, offering him the appropriate level of support with genuine compassion, sensitivity and most importantly, gentle and friendly humour! There is always a definite feeling of a happy, family atmosphere within the relaxed communal areas and residents are encouraged to furnish their bedrooms with lifetime, homely mementos. I chose Springfield over other care homes in the area, because of its medium size and particular reputation for the wide and varied activities on offer. Sadly, present Covid restrictions have had a dramatic impact on these, however, the manager has recruited a dedicated staff member to work with residents on a one to one and group basis. This has been a brilliant idea and is proving a great success all round.
My mother has been a resident at Springfield for 2 years. She has advanced dementia and at times presents with challenging behaviour. I have confidence in the staff who manage these episodes. At other times she appears settled and is well cared for physically and emotionally.
Very satisfied with the care and attention given to my husband. He enjoys the food and activities offered to him. Staff always very friendly and helpful to all our family. Always clean and smartly dressed.
My father has been at Springfield for a year now and during that time we have been confident he is receiving the best possible care. Prior to lockdown whenever I went to visit he would always comment how kind all the staff were to him and the excellent meals he was served throughout the day. All the public areas and his bedroom are always cleaned to a very high standard. During the lockdown, I have been able to call or Skype him regularly and the management team have always been available if required. My father remains a happy resident at Springfield.
Lovely care home! The staff look after the residents and tend to the residents own individual needs. There are always activities that the residents can join in with. The home is very clean with lovely gardens and a lovely view. The staff are professional and friendly.
My Mother has a diagnosis of mixed dementia and joined the Springfield family in June 2019. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this wonderful care home. The building is kept spotlessly clean and is maintained to a very high standard, the Manager has a genuine interest and rapport with the residents. The home is very well staffed by an extremely dedicated team of people that maintain very high standards. Mum is always clean and nicely dressed and the food is of very high quality. She loves her room and enjoys interacting with the staff, she feels very safe and well cared for. The atmosphere at Springfield is professional, relaxed, welcoming and supportive and everyone involved in looking after my Mother genuinely cares for her wellbeing. I am so grateful to the team for their patience, kindness, sense of humour and expertise and for making this home a proper home for my Mum.
