View Full Details of Richmond Villages Letcombe RegisMy sister came to Letcombe Regis after she decided that she could no longer cope in her London flat. My husband and I visited before a final decision was made and we were very impressed by the Home, the surroundings and particularly the staff we met. So, in September 2022 we moved her and we have never regretted that decision. The care she has received has been exemplary, the staff unfailingly kind and, whilst my sister cannot really appreciate them, the surroundings beautiful.
My aunt first moved into Richmond Villages in September 2024. She was in hospital when she had a fall and damaged her face and needed to go to a care home for her safety. A Richmond Village employee visited her hospital and she moved to the home when she was discharged. She has been met with kndness and patience. She has adjusted to being in the home with the help of staff. She is encouraged to join in all activities and performances which she enjoys.
I write this review from my position as an 'Independent Unit' resident, whose husband has been transferred from our apartment to the care home. The care and support he is experiencing there is excellent. Even though his Parkinson's condition is overwhelming. I cannot praise the staff enough for their consistent patience and overall care. Richmond Villages, Letcombe Regis has timed out to be the very best option for us in our declining years, allowing residents to remain in their homes whilst having care facilities convenient on-site. I have marked some as satisfactory, but also mean it to be 'good', as my husband's condition can only allow him to experience everything to a certain level.
My mother arrived at Richmond Villages, Letcombe Regis, in November. It was a very stressful time but she settled in quickly, and it was not long before I felt a weight had lifted. The admin staff have held my hand throughout. Personalised care plan, and on hand up-to-date information for the carers offers reassurance. Lovely staff organise activities in the afternoons. The level of care, dedication, empathy, and warmth provided by the carers is truly above expectation (my mother moved from another care home to be closer to me, she is 98). My mother is safe and happy. Thank you.
My Mother moved into Sycamore in the summer of this year. Over the past 5 months what has struck me has been the warmth and care with which the team works with the residents. It is demanding work for them and yet so often they turn up with a smile. There have been a few times when I have needed to give feedback on the service. It has always been well received by the care manager and either changes made or the rationale explained.
This review pertains to Sycamore Unit on the Care Floor at Richmond Village Letcombe Regis and does not offer any opinion on other aspects of care at the same facility such as Assisted Living. I will post a separate review for that area of care at a later date. I would like to give my profound thanks to all staff on Sycamore for the outstanding level of exceptional care they recently gave my father in about the last six weeks of his life. We could not have asked for better. Without exception, all the staff were very loving and did everything they could to make my father feel comfortable and deeply cared for. They were also very supportive of the family at a difficult time, were always available to us, and sent frequent updates. Everything was handled very sensitively and with great attention to detail. This gave my father and his family total peace of mind. I could not recommend the Sycamore Unit more highly. A huge thank you to the head of care and all her staff for outstanding work.
I found my stay here very rewarding. All the staff were individually kind and caring. I particularly liked that as my door was open, visitors and staff knocked gently before coming into my room. My one complaint is that there was no grab handle in the shower to hold onto. Because of this, I needed a carer to support me whilst showering. Surprised there was no telephone in the room until it was requested. The mobile signal is genuinely very responsive. I would definitely ask to come again if necessary.
Mum came to Richmond Village for palliative care. From the moment she arrived, we knew she was going to be cared for with dignity, kindness, and respect. All the staff really were amazing to Mum, but also to us, her family, and friends who wanted to visit Mum in her final weeks. Thank you to all who cared for Mum, you are all truly wonderful.
This is a review of Maple at Richmond Village Letcombe Regis. I would like to say a big thank you to the care home manager and her team on Maple. My Nanna moved to Maple from her flat in the main area of the village centre after she became very unwell. As soon as Nanna arrived she was treated with such care and respect and this has continued over the last month. The managers, nurses, carers, and maintenance teams know her and us. They treat Nanna warmly- chatting and laughing with her, taking care of and adapting to her changing needs, and enabling her to join in with the various activities, meals, etc that take place. There is a warm, calm, responsive, and supportive atmosphere in Maple. I am very grateful for the communication about my Nanna's care and well-being and feel confident that she is in the right place. Not only has the team looked after my Nanna but also my family in what has been a stressful few weeks.
When my mother became unwell this summer, Richmond Letcombe Regis was her choice for recuperation. When I visited to look around I was immediately struck by the friendly atmosphere and the sense of community. Unfortunately, by the time Mum arrived at Richmond, it was for palliative care. Prior to her moving, she was visited in hospital by the Home Manager. This was a mark of the level of care she would receive. On her arrival, she was given such a warm welcome and instantly, I saw her relax. The care she received was full of skill and compassion. It was calm and gentle and the staff took time and care to tend to her - both physically and emotionally. This is true of all staff. Her stay was relatively short, but her friends were welcomed and cared for. We, her family, experienced warmth and support during this very intense period. Reflecting on Mum's last days, I feel immense gratitude and thanks towards the entire team.
Without hesitation, I recommend Richmond Letcombe Regis to anyone seeking professional nursing care. The quality of care I received far exceeded my and my family's expectations and has accelerated my return to good health and mobility. I required a period of rehabilitation after suffering two accidents and undergoing two operations I had in 6 months which left me with severely impaired mobility. On arrival, I was welcomed by a senior manager and shown to my spacious and well-equipped room. The team of carers immediately made me feel at home with their patience, sympathy and support. The nursing staff were very knowledgeable and professionally administered drugs and pain relief precisely on time. They were also generous with their time and advice. The personal trainer team also made a significant contribution to my physical well-being with their skills and constant encouragement. All the ancillary staff also made my well-being a priority. With the help of the whole care team, my recovery has progressed far more than I anticipated 4 weeks ago and I count myself fortunate to have chosen Richmond Letcombe Regis for my nursing and rehabilitation.
Exactly what Dad needed. 2 weeks turned into 3 of respite out of the hospital and not fit enough to go home. The nursing staff were great. The downstairs restaurant he enjoyed, a stickler for good food. Even now the staff ask after him.
A long-term resident who recently moved to Maple Unit. Quality of care and activities much improved resulting in a change of behaviour and awareness in the resident.
Excellent care and support from all staff at Richmond to date. Recent considerate care, suggestions and support going to the local NHS dentist was superb. Well-organised seamless process involving all staff. Richmond Villages Letcombe Regis has become a class act! Great experience that has got better over the last year of residence.
Our first meeting with Front of House was excellent and we decided that my husband should have a 4-week stay. We were told to arrive after 2 pm on Tuesday 7th May and we would have a reserved parking space as my husband has mobility problems. No one seemed to know we were expected, no parking spaces no one to meet us. A member of staff eventually arrived to take us to Sycamore we chose a room but it needed the bed moving. We waited for over an hour to speak to anyone and even the next day the bed was still in the same place blocking access to the bathroom. I have many more complaints! You need checking in and out system.
My brother moved to Maple, Richmond Village Letcombe Regis in April 2022. Since then, I have been a constant and regular visitor. I have always found my brother very well cared for. The staff are professional, friendly and engaged with the residents and always available if there are any issues for discussion. It is obvious from my brother’s demeanour that he feels secure and content with the care he receives in Maple.
My wife is content and safe thanks to the excellent and sensitive care she receives. She adores the staff and they reciprocate. I have complete confidence in the staff, from cleaning to kitchen through to carers and nurses.
I have just come home from a two-week stay in Sycamore, Richmond Villages. My respite was for rest, relaxation and recuperation after taking a turn for the worse after a double hip fracture. It was all I expected it to be. All the nursing and care staff were absolutely wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I was able to recuperate and go home feeling so much better. Thank you.
My 93-year-old Mum contracted pneumonia at the beginning of January this year while living at home and although she had received wonderful care when in hospital for 6 weeks she still was too frail to return home. At very short notice all the staff involved in admitting new patients at Richmond Villages, Letcombe Regis did an amazing job in assessing her needs and making a room available to her for a three-week respite rest. When I arrived at the care home with my Mum all the staff were very welcoming. She has been in the care home for 3 days now and having met/spoken to several of the staff, as well as speaking with my Mum over the phone, I can say she is very well looked after by all the lovely staff and feels very safe in their capable hands, which gives both my Mum and I great peace of mind.
Since Mum moved here I have had complete peace of mind knowing that she is very well looked after and is safe. She has all her needs fully met 24/7. All the staff are friendly and go out of their way to make her feel valued and treat her as an individual. When we have been around within the village, several staff say hello and address her by name. The design and decor of the main areas is fantastic and provide a variety of seating areas for you to sit quietly or to be able to chat if you so wish. I highly recommend Sycamore, the nursing unit here.
