View Full Details of Lydgate LodgeMy stay was all it was promised to me. First class, very helpful, clean, very good food and comfortable bed.
Friendly and pleasant to deal with. Welcomed my mum. Had the chance to visit which gave me the confidence to leave my mum for 2 weeks' respite.
The staff are very friendly and fully aware of my father's care needs. The home is clean and well equipped with a homely feel to it. Any concerns are quickly dealt with and nothing is too much trouble. The staff go out of their way to ensure the residents are happy and involved. I would highly recommend Lydgate Lodge to anyone looking for a home for a loved one.
My experience was very good. The management and all the staff were very caring and they cared very well for me. I would like to thank them all very much. Thank you.
I wanted a place on record the wonderful, warm, welcome our family received upon admission of my father in March. Front of house, manager, care manager and all of the staff he met couldn't have been more professional, friendly and proactive upon my father's arrival. First impressions are important and well fantastic. I've scored the options below relevant to our first visit. Thank you.
Staff are very patient and understanding and encourage Dad who I know can be very stubborn at times. He does enjoy the activities provided, especially musical entertainment. Going back to his birthday in January they provided a lovely afternoon tea and cake in the cafe and we were very impressed by the St Valentine's Day meal on the 17 February where we were very well looked after. Finally, I would add that the management at the home are always ready to listen and take on board any concerns, which is very reassuring.
Mum was sent here to recover after a spell in hospital following a fall. The staff were friendly, efficient and very professional. They accompanied her to hospital appointments and were great both on visit and on feeding back to family. The room was great and Mum was happy. Any issues with missing clothes swiftly dealt with even when the fault was mine for forgetting to label them. Staff couldn't do enough to help Mum and we as a family felt happy that Mum was being well looked after. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Excellent care home. Extremely welcoming reception. Staff are caring and professional at all times. The level of comfort and facilities for residents is very good. Lydgate is somewhere we would definitely recommend.
The care home has been very helpful with all aspects of respite and now sorting full residents, as we are new to the system. He has settled in well into his new surroundings - likes his room, and is happy with his carers.
Lydgate Lodge has looked after my father since May 2022, and now also my mother from December 2023. We did not hesitate to place Mum there after the exceptional care that my father receives. Both parents are well looked after and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere and caring that they receive. There are daily entertainment and activities that stimulate them and keep them happy. The staff are all brilliant, and the home is run with care in mind all the time. We could not have found a better place for them, and it takes away all the worry and stress from the family.
Lydgate Lodge appears very welcoming and many of the staff are lovely and very hard-working. However, having chosen this home herself as the place she wished to end her days, my mother was evicted when her dementia worsened, despite them having a dementia unit. She wasn't violent (which is the reason most homes serve notice), she was just hard work. The management team promised that they wouldn't serve notice until we had exhausted every avenue, then broke that promise. My mother had to move only a few days before Christmas. They make a big deal about treating residents like family - you don't evict family when they need you most. In summary, Lydgate Lodge is fine for those with mild dementia, but do not choose this home if you don't want to have to move your loved one if their health declines.
The reception was warm and welcoming and the staff were all very friendly and appeared to be very caring. The facilities available to residents are excellent and everything was clean and comfortable. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and modern. The room has a beautiful view.
Overall my experience in repsite care was very good. The majority of staff were caring and helpful with a minority not really suited for the job. Meals were good with a good selection of food although afternoon tea was a bit early. Despite there being a wide variety of conditions/illnesses, effort was made to provide varied activities.
Our world was blown apart when our super active, young-at-heart mother suffered a paralysing stroke, leaving her with aphasia, unable to talk. Mum has been at Lydgate Lodge for five years, and we could not have hoped for a safer, happier place for Mum to be. Lydgate is her home, where she is cared for consistently by excellent staff, who support us and Mum fantastically. We've created a garden for Mum and recently held a family cinema afternoon, which Mum was thrilled with. All the staff are friendly and professional and have Mum's best interests at heart.
Following a difficult period at home last year Mum went to live at Lydgate Lodge somewhat reluctantly. Whilst naturally she still yearns for her own home, she has now settled in very well. Mum feels comfortable and safe and is very fond of all the staff who look after her with great kindness and respect and she has now come to think of Lydgate as her second home. Whilst the care of the residents is always the priority and the primary focus of the care home, it’s also recognised that this can sometimes be a difficult time for the family and, right from the start of our journey, I have always felt supported by the management and lovely staff, who are friendly, kind and inclusive. The Lydgate team have created a comfortable and welcoming environment for the residents and their families and I’m very grateful that Mum is well looked after and cared for by such lovely people.
The staff at the care home go out of their way to accommodate the resident's needs and the family's requests for the resident's care. It's a lovely home with a welcoming and comfortable environment from the minute you walk in.
I try to visit my mother at least once a week. When she first became a resident nearly a year ago my sister and I did not expect that she would readily settle, having always been an independent type of person but to our pleasant surprise she has indeed very much settled in. This has to be in part at least to the lovely staff and their caring attitude to all the residents which I witness on each visit.
The home looking after my mother-in-law is absolutely fantastic. We looked at other homes but we chose Lydgate Lodge as it was welcoming, clean and well-presented, the staff are very friendly and the location is great.
I'm so happy that my grandma settled in well, it was emotionally hard accepting that she could no longer look after herself at 92 and her dementia suddenly deteriorated but she enjoys the activities and staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very homely and comfortable very clean and tidy. Meals are very nice too.
Lydgate Lodge is a very welcoming, caring environment to visit. I am 100% confident that Mum is as safe as she could possibly be despite her very advanced dementia. It is a happy atmosphere with a huge range of activities for all abilities and interests. Individual rooms are personal, cosy, homely, and clean. Communal areas are always stimulating and busy whilst also allowing residents some quiet time if they prefer. I feel as though I am visiting extended family as well as Mum. Cleaning and laundry staff are always to be seen doing a good job with the challenges of a dementia unit. Food is of an excellent quality, including cakes provided at the weekly coffee mornings.
