View Full Details of Horse Fair Care Home - Avery HealthcareMum has been a resident at horse fair since September 2024. We have found that she has settled in almost immediately. She has found her room first class and the care she receives from the staff is again first rate, they are always friendly and smiling - and nothing is too much trouble. The quality of food is excellent and mum always complains there is too much food. Mum has received regular medical assessments which i'm pleased with.
My mum has been in Horsefair for nearly a year now. I always thought that it would be awful visiting her in a care home, but how could I have been so wrong. From the minute you walk in to the place, it's like walking into a hotel. The receptionist's always greet you with a smile on their faces and all the staff do an amazing job. When I visit it is like one big happy family and my mum has settled in so well. Thank you for looking after her.
My mother, stayed at Horse Fair Care Home, and I can't thank the staff enough for the wonderful care she received. She was looked after with kindness, patience, and genuine compassion throughout her stay. The team made every effort to support her in ways that helped bring out her old self, which meant so much to us as a family. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and we always felt reassured that she was in safe and caring hands. I highly recommend Horse Fair Care Home to anyone looking for a place where their loved ones will be treated with dignity and respect.
Mum has been in Horse Fair for 6 months now and in that time all the staff have been so helpful and understanding, not just for Mum but for the family as well. The support they have provided Mum through all of the events and activities have been fantastic. Mum has so many laughs and jokes all day with us and the staff. I have stayed for lunch a couple of times and the food, cakes and coffee were amazing. We are kept informed about Mum's care and any needs that crop up - we have a monthly residents meeting where I have the opportunity to discuss the activities at the home and the good work the staff do.
My mum has been in the home since September 2024. It has been a positive experience for both my mother and the family. She has been cared for in a very understanding way and treated with dignity. Mum has settled in really well thanks to the input from the very caring staff.
The staff at Horse Fair Care Home made it a seamless transition for my mum moving in on Christmas eve. They could not of made us more welcome and supported all of us through this difficult time. The rooms are nice and large with en suite facilities and since we added my mum's furniture and pictures in place it is now a home from home for her. The activities and entertainment they provide daily is second to none, with staff constantly at hand. My mum now feels safe and appears to be slot less stressed & seems relaxed than her last few weeks at home and in hospital. The staff are all friendly and helpful and there is a real family environment, we would recommend Horse Fair to anyone.
This was a very painful experience for us to put Mum into a care home. With Mum suffering from dementia, she couldn't understand why this was happening to her which made this a very traumatic time for us all. The staff were so helpful, supportive and professional throughout the whole process and so caring and understanding to all of our requests. We cannot thank the staff enough. Such a wonderful support. Many thanks to all.
Needed more hands-on care. Had a rash and don't know how often it was treated. Needed help with getting dressed i.e. the right things to put on. The same with morning and night. Residents with dementia seemed to be isolated on the top floor. I don't know if they were all allowed down into the garden in the nice weather. On the plus side, the artwork on his bedroom door, cycling which was his hobby when young. Also, labelling of clothes worth every penny of £25.
A lovely, welcoming place, interested in what Mom's hobbies, likes and dislikes were to make her staff more enjoyable and personal. Lovely rooms and a great menu for meal times. Mom will be very happy to stay again.
Thank you for inviting my parents along to the afternoon dream tea at Horse Fair last week. It was kind of you to remember them after my dad's respite stay with you last year, following an operation because of the amazing care at Horse Fair he was able to move to a new apartment to live independently with my mam. Hopefully, they can catch up with you all again soon.
The care, respect and credibleness from all staff at Horse Fair was outstanding towards my mom as she spent what was to be the last 4 months of her life. Unfortunately, not long after moving to Horse Fair, she was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Mom really enjoyed being at Horse Fair before her illness and during the darker times before her passing, the compassion, love and friendliness was out of this world. We wish Mom had moved there many months before.
My wife was very happy staying here which was a great relief to me, having to go away for a family bereavement. Particularly pleased to be invited to cream tea today and my wife enjoyed coming back. Also to sit a while in the garden.
My mother and I have just enjoyed afternoon tea at the care home. My mother has stayed there on three different occasions, she has always enjoyed it an all the staff remember her. They will always stop and say hello. I have always been very impressed with the care an activities provided. Many thanks to all the carers from maintenance, kitchen, office and of course the carers.
All I can say is 10/10 perfection.
We cannot thank Horse Fair enough for all the help they have given us over the past 6 years with my stepmother. They are so caring and every member of staff knows her and cares about her welfare. Recently she had a fall and the team was so supportive and caring keeping me updated every step of the way as I live long-distance. They called the paramedics and kept my stepmother calm and happy throughout. They kindly escorted her to hospital to get checked out as we have no living relatives or friends nearby. They always go over and above the call of duty, one of the staff stayed with her all day, and even when they hadn't received ambulance transport back to the care home past 8 pm at night! We cannot thank you all enough for all you do for us and our stepmother. There have been many examples of this sort of care over the years and we are so very grateful. We are so glad we found the best possible care home for her. Thank you all.
As a regular visitor to Horsefair, I always find the staff very kind, and helpful. They have a great deal of respect for the residents and take great care of my relative. The home manager is always kind, accommodating and helpful. I have great confidence in the care given in the home - highly recommend.
When viewing care homes for Mum in February, we had no idea what to expect. Walking through the door into Horse Fair was very comforting to see a lovely, clean, welcoming reception area and greeted by a staff member, was given refreshments and shown around. We were impressed with the bedrooms and spacious ensuite wet rooms and the lovely dining rooms. Mum went in on a 6 week respite agreement and after 3 weeks signed up as a permanent resident. She's made friends, loves the food and the staff are like her new family. We feel we could not have chosen anywhere better for her and it's only 5 minutes by care from her previous home.
Horse Fair, thank you so much. As a family we had to make the hardest decision of our lives, sleepless nights worrying over the heartbreaking decision that Dad at 90 was no longer able to give Mom the care she required and we were unable to be with her 24/7. Mom has Alzheimer's. Mom was offered a choice of 3 available care homes. We are so pleased that Horse Fair was one of them. As a family we are made to feel part of their family, the staff are so friendly and passionate. We can not believe how quickly Mom is settling in better than we ever imagined, she has made friends and complying with tasks we said she wouldn't allow. Food is very plentiful and residents all seemingly enjoy it. The staff are amazing truthful and reassuring. The overall feeling when you enter is this could be a hotel with a clean friendly atmosphere. We are so happy we found Horse Fare. We look forward to attending and supporting all activities in the future. You are all amazing caring people.
My mother has just spent 10 days for respite care at Horse Fair and I was very impressed by the level of care that was provided during this short stay. The staff were all very friendly and couldn't do enough to make the stay as comfortable as possible for her. There was a very relaxed but caring atmosphere about the place from when she arrived to her departure day. It gave us all great peace of mind knowing she was getting such great care. Thank you all so much.
My wife was admitted into the care home as a respite resident in May 2023 but then became a permanent resident in September 2023. Since her initial admittance, she has received excellent care in all respects from a friendly and dedicated staff throughout the care home and this is reflected in my excellent rating in all options. As a regular visitor to the home, I see the dedication and professional care that is in place. We all know that there is no cure or going back for dementia so it is good to know that my wife is being given the dignity, respect, empathy and loving care that she deserves. God bless all of the staff and residents in this care home.
