View Full Details of Ralphland Care HomeThe care given to my Mum during her stay of almost 10 months was excellent. The staff are very caring and lovely and did their best to always make Mum happy. They were also lovely and friendly to us and we got to know them quite well as we visited every day. The management team was friendly, helpful, and responsive to Mum's needs and was quick to inform us of any medical issues or concerns. They cared for Mum with love and dignity in her final days.
Lovely home, always friendly and happy to help. Very attentive staff. The residents are well looked after. Nice surroundings, always a nice place to visit.
I cannot recommend this care home enough. The staff go above and beyond, the care and safety of the residents are a priority which puts us at ease knowing our loved one is being looked after to a high standard! The manager is fantastic. All the staff are so pleasant and welcoming. Nothing is ever too much, the staff have always got a smile on their faces and are so friendly. You wouldn’t find a better care home for your loved one. 5 Stars.
My mother has lived at Ralphland since September 2017. She has always been treated with great respect, kindness and lots of love. Her room and shower room are always very clean and her personal care needs are well looked after. If she is unwell or the staff have noticed a change in her appearance or manner medical services are called upon to investigate and I am informed and kept up to date. Her dietary needs are well catered for and she is kept well hydrated with a jug of juice in her room, which is refreshed twice a day and plenty of tea. She continues to thrive at Ralphland as she can join in activities in the lounge or retire to her room if she wants some private time. If she is in her room the staff check on her regularly and the emergency call system has been replaced in the last two years.
My father has been in Ralphlands since January 2023. He came for respite after a month in the hospital, unfortunately, he was unable to care for himself sufficiently to be able to go home The staff at Ralphland have given him excellent care throughout and were very patient and caring as Dad found it quite difficult to settle in his new place, to begin with. All the staff are very friendly, caring and approachable and the manager always makes herself available if I need to discuss anything about Dad's care. My dad enjoys being there now and has enjoyed the activities that the new activities co-coordinator has been doing. I'm very pleased with the care he is receiving. Thank you.
Mum has been at Ralphland Care Home since February 2022 when she left hospital after having a hip replacement. Mum suffers with vascular dementia and is incapable of taking care of herself. The warmth, kindness, care and professionalism shown to Mum has been nothing but first class throughout, even during the early stages when she struggled to accept her new surroundings. Now mum doesn't want to be anywhere else and keeps telling me all her friends should be here too because it is so good! She celebrated her 95 birthday this month and received cards from the team as well as a beautiful birthday cake. She had the biggest grin on her face and I am so grateful to the Ralphland team because I know they give her all the care she needs and more.
We had to use Ralphland for a four week period of respite for my dad, who has dementia. During that period, he was really well looked after by all staff there. We found all staff very kind and polite to all residents and visitors alike; nothing seemed to be a problem for them and from day one they were very professional. I would have no problem recommending them to anyone that needs to use their facility.
My nan lived in Ralphland Care Home from when she left hospital until she passed away. She was always extremely well looked after and well presented. It was so reassuring to know that she was receiving excellent care and the staff were always friendly and had a caring attitude. The staff were so compassionate when my nan passed away and ensured that the family were updated and our wishes respected.
The only issue was the food! It was lovely, but my mother was struggling to eat as her teeth didn't fit well. Because she had lost quite a bit of weight. The staff cut it up for her but she still found it difficult to chew. It would have been better if it was softer food or liquidised normal food. But overall, everything was excellent. Thank you all so much.
Overall experience excellent, good staff.
Mum lived at Ralphland Care Home for around a year, thank you would never be enough gratitude for the care that the staff offered my mother at this stage of her life. My mum had dementia which could often be challenging but the staff always treated her with dignity and respect. Ralphland really is a home-from-home.
My mum came to Ralphland Care Home for three weeks of respite. She was weak, eating little and tired. Within three weeks, she is eating much better and even walking with the aid of her frame. All the staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. After her review, it was decided she would stay here. Mum has settled in very well and never asks to go home. I am at ease that she is getting very well looked after. Thank you to all.
You hear horrible stories about the elderly and disabled in care homes and you worry. I want Mum to be treated with love and kindness above all else and that's what they do here. I've witnessed it over the past few months. They are patient, kind and helpful to everyone living here, including Mum. I have to drive 140 miles each way to see Mum but it's worth it knowing that she can't be better looked after and cared for anywhere else. Thank you to all those who work here, I wish I had some say over your salaries.
My sister stayed at Ralphland Care Home for a total of nine months. During this time, staff showed nothing but compassion and dignity towards her. When she passed away, the staff showed excellent end-of-life care skills and supported us as a family. I would recommend Ralphland Care Home to anyone.
Managers and staff promote an ethos of care which extends beyond the residents to include all family members who either visit or telephone to enquire. All concerns for residents are dealt with quickly and professionally. All staff, from senior managers to cleaners and carers, show concern for the care of all residents and go the extra mile to befriend residents and their families. This is the care home all care homes should be modelled on.
Our brother-in-law was in the care home for a number of years. He was well thought of and looked after very well. If we needed to talk over anything, we would go to see the manager and the point brought up was looked into straight away. We have no grumbles at all. We would recommend the care home to anyone.
My mother suffers with Alzheimers and can be extremely difficult. She can't appreciate that people are trying to help her and can become violent. In my experience, the carers are very patient and understanding of her condition. A few months ago Mum fell and broke her hip. She's had a hip replacement but is now confined to bed. In spite of this, she is always clean and comfortable whenever I or my sisters have visited.
We were recommended to Ralphland by a close friend whose Mum had been cared for here. Following a fall and no longer being able to be cared for in her home, Mum came to Ralphlands. From day one, the care that was given was exemplary from every member of staff, and although they were busy, nothing was too much trouble. Mum was here for six months and never once asked to go home. She loved the staff, and they made her final months feel cared for and comfortable. The staff kept us well informed and supported when Mum sadly passed away. We would highly recommend Ralphland.
My dad was on a period of respite at Ralphland care home which led to six months of care, and all I can say is wow! Having worked in the care sector for many years, we were sceptical about him going into a care home. From admission to him going home, we had nothing but positive feedback from him. When he moved into Ralphland, he was bed bound and lost all mobility but, with the help from the wonderful care staff, he is now back home with his family and so happy and standing. He still says he misses the wonderful care staff. We can’t thank the manageress and care staff enough for all of their help and support for our dad.
Due to my Brother being admitted to the care home from hospital late in the evening, the staff were so excellent in settling him into his room. During his time there, the staff have been magnificent with him, as he can be a bit awkward at times. Every time relatives visit him, we are welcomed with a smile, thank you.
