View Full Details of Manorhey Care CentreMy mother spent the last 3 years of her life at Manorhey and sadly passed last week. The care she received at Manorhey throughout her whole time there was excellent. My mum didn't really leave her room or mix in any of the communal areas, so I didn't really have contact with much of the home or activities. That said, staff worked hard to encourage her to access what was offered. The staff were always friendly and compassionate. During my mum's end of life care, the staff looked after us (my brother and I) with such care. Nothing was too much trouble.
My dear Mum passed away at Manorhey Care Centre on Friday 7th February 2025. She had been a resident there for very nearly three years. In all of that time, Mum had become well-known to very many of the team there, including nurses, carers, domestics, reception staff, and managers. I can say without a doubt that Mum experienced nothing but kindness, gentleness and compassion from everyone she encountered. I visited as often as I could. My sister visited too. On every visit, we could see that Manorhey Care Centre had been a good choice for Mum's ongoing care. It is a lovely establishment and we are grateful for the loving care Mum received there. The facilities are all of high quality. Residents' rooms are comfortable and spacious and kept clean and heated. But, it is the quality of the staff working at Manorhey Care Centre that, I believe, sets it head-and-shoulders above others. Everyone I met during my many visits showed so much love and kindness to Mum. I cannot thank them enough.
In the few months that my sister was a resident at Manorhey Care Centre she received the best of care from all the staff and was able to develop good relationships with everyone who looked after her. I always felt when I was there that this was such a kind and caring place. Certainly everyone with whom I had any dealings was unfailingly friendly and helpful. Within her physical limitations my sister was able to participate in some of the wide range of activities that the home provided each month. Whenever there were any problems with her health I would always be kept informed, and it was a huge comfort for me to know that everything that could be done for my sister was being done.Thank you to all at Manorhey for being there for my sister during what were to prove the last few months of her life.
I only have praise for Manorhey. This care home was my mum's home for 14 years until she sadly passed away in August this year. Mum was happy here where she developed a fantastic relationship and rapport with the lovely staff who looked after and cared for her throughout the years. Mum loved the entertainment that was on each week and the activities provided from bingo to baking and she loved having her hair done every Thursday by the hairdresser. As for the care provided by the lovely staff it was given in Mum's best interests and with dignity for her which as a family is what you would expect for a loved one, even at times when Mum was poorly, they would phone me and keep me updated on how she was doing until she was back to her old self again. I would like to finish my review by thanking all the staff for looking after my beloved Mum and that I will miss you all. To anyone looking for a care home for their loved one, you will not be disappointed by choosing Manorhey Care Centre.
Staff are caring and patient, always on hand to answer any questions we have. The events are carried and often. Everywhere is clean all the time, meals are varied. Overall a lovely place.
Mum came to Manorhey from hospital for EOL care. She has always been a very scared and worried lady. She was anxious in hospital; however, since arriving she's been very settled and calm. She has been singing and smiling and the staff all know her so well. She's been very well cared for. Each member of staff know her likes and dislikes. They enter her room every 2 hours, they reposition her and check her comfort is maximized. Mum doesn't eat, it's part of her EOL pathway and I'm glad that staff do not push her too much. This wouldn't be good for Mum's wellbeing. Initially, some did think it important for her to eat which was challenging for me. Overall, I cannot thank all (every single one) from the staff member at reception to the cleaners and all those in-between, enough.
Very looked after, with care and dignity. Nothing too much trouble. The room is well-maintained.
Handful of staff are aware of what dignity is. Majority show compassion, agency staff seem to be on the rise. Safety precautions need to be implemented cleanliness of residents need to be increased i.e hand hygiene.
My mum is extremely happy in the home. She is well looked after by all the staff. All the staff are very approachable and available if needed. Reception staff are also very helpful.
My mum went into Manorhey a few years ago, which was a very hard decision for the family to make, the home made Mum and us so welcome and I can honestly say we are happy and Mum is doing great. The staff are so lovely and the staff have done amazing things with the dementia residents and all the other residents going above and beyond. Mother's Day was so lovely as they arranged for us to go for a pub lunch and we made so many memories to cherish. The home ring you every month to see if you are happy with the care which is great, I can't thank the staff enough for looking after my mum, thank you with all my heart.
Mum was referred on assessment from the hospital due to her dementia. The staff were brilliant with Mum, and as her dementia deteriorated, she became a permanent resident. Mum enjoys the activities and day trips the staff provide. The nursing staff are wonderful with Mum, as she does not like her personal care being done. My dad visits her most days, and the staff are great with him. The facilities and rooms are lovely. The friendly receptionists and admin team are very helpful. Highly recommend this care home.
Mum was admitted to Manorhey in January 2024. Initially on assessment but because of her complex needs it was decided she should become a permanent resident. As her family we were of course sad about this but her social worker said she could return home if her mental and physical health improved. Incredibly and all thanks to all the staff at Manorhey her condition improved in a few months and the good news is we now have her back home with us, this is all due to the brilliant care she received at Manorhey, I cannot praise them highly enough.
The management of the home is extremely well rin and of a high quality. The cleanliness and hygiene is top priority. Nothing is too much for staff, that includes maintenance to the structure of care, nursing staff to reception and administration. As the system is new to us, they have fully supported my father's transition from home to residential nursing care.
My mother was recently discharged from the hospital to be assessed at Manorhey Care Home. Several of the staff formed particularly positive relationships with my mother and she appeared to really enjoy those interactions. Getting her to smile and have a joke meant a lot to us during this time. To our very pleasant surprise, one of the staff prompted us to allow our mother to be taken out for the day to a concert, after successfully identifying her interest in music through getting to know her. On top of this, there were other examples of responsiveness to my mum's specific interests and needs, such as watching a certain programme and helping her get out in the garden safely on sunny days. I was really glad my mother benefited from such a caring environment.
My mum's dementia has advanced quite quick, so it's a hard decision for all the family to put Mum in a care home. The carers and nurses are great with her and talk her through everything as she can get anxious. She loves the activities, especially singing and dancing. Mum's room is kept clean and nothing is too much trouble. She is very happy there (she has been living there for ten months now).
The care and respect the nurses and care staff, cleaners, hospitality, all staff give to my husband is second to none. Every time I visit, I am updated on all aspects of my husband's care. They contact me every few weeks to see if the care plan is ok and if I would like anything changing. I would 100% recommend Manorhey Care Centre.
Mum has been a resident at Manorhey for nearly two years for dementia nursing care. The staff are very considerate of her needs, and the environment is friendly and clean. There are activities provided by the lifestyle team, and Mum can get her hair cut in the salon. The meals are well thought out and, as well as the three main meals, there are three snack times, which is good for Mum as she eats little and often. Mum needed to move to a care home due to aggression to the carers in her own home, and the Manorhey staff have managed this well. Whenever we need to discuss something to do with Mum's care, the staff are always available. Thank you!
Excellent care. Staff bright and cheerful always willing to help. Clear communications with relatives. Very good services provided for the residents in a warm and friendly atmosphere. I would have no hesitation in recommending Manorhey to anyone seeking residential care for a loved one.
My mum has been a resident at Manorhey for 2 years and the care she has received has been excellent. Nothing has been too much for the staff. My mum is not the easiest of residents but they have taken her care in their stride. After looking after her myself for 6 years knowing that she is being taken care of so well has eased my mind. Would definitely recommend it.
I honestly cannot praise the Manorhey Care Centre and the staff enough for making my dad’s last few weeks so comfortable. This was through their hard work and commitment to my dad but also the kindness shown to him and us, as a family. Everything we asked for was catered for and nothing was ever too much trouble. The reception staff always made you feel welcome and we were always greeted with a smile and a lovely chat. It really was a home from home and we were able to walk away knowing that we could put complete trust in the staff to look after him how we would want and expect. Well done to the Manorhey for getting it so right and delivering complete dignity right to the very end.
