View Full Details of Cilymaenllwyd Care HomeAfter her health deteriorated and dementia set in, I took the difficult decision that my aunt needed to go into a home. From my first contact with the manager, it was all very positive, and my aunt settled in well and was lovingly cared for. The staff were kind and friendly to my aunt as well as myself - nothing was too much trouble for them. During her final days in January, she was cared for with great compassion and dignity, which was a great comfort to me. Thank you all.
As a family we made a difficult decision that would help mum get the best positive care for her dementia needs. After a viewing of Cilymaenllwyd Care Home the manager showed us what the care home could offer. She took mum under her wing and introduced her to the other residents. Mum settled well and the staff treated her just like their own family. We had a link to their private social media page and could see Mum enjoying activities the care home offered, singing, skittles bingo, arts and crafts, and outings in the minibus to name a few. The hairdresser was lovely as Mum always wanted her hair to look nice. During my visits to take Mum out she would talk of the lovely food she had eaten. Overall I feel with the kind caring and helpful encouragement from all the staff Mum was part of the family. During Mum's final days, all the staff gave us as a family a warm caring courteous and dignified approach. Our thanks go out to the manager and all her wonderful staff.
Since my mother's diagnosis of mixed dementia four years ago it has been sad to see her physical and mental deterioration over the last year. It was a hard decision to make to place my mother in a care home. However, I was so lucky and fortunate to find Cilymaenllwyd Care Home, from the time she moved in there all the staff have been so supportive, kind, caring and compassionate. My mum has never lost any of her dignity and is treated with respect and kindness at all times. Whenever I visit my mother the carers are always happy, hard-working and respectful not only of my mother but the other residents as well. When my mother was able to she would often go out for lunch with some other residents which I know she absolutely loved. My mum is treated like royalty and so are the other residents. Cilymaenllwyd has been nothing short of amazing and I know my mum is receiving the highest standard of care. From the time my mum arrived at Cilymaenllwyd, I could not have asked for better care.
After a tough few years, in March 2022 we made the decision to move my mum from where she lived to this beautiful care home. Mum’s dementia was deteriorating, however, the move to Cilymaenllwyd was the best decision as a family we ever made. From the time Mum arrived, I couldn’t have asked for any better care. This care home has a hands-on manager who leads by example. The staff at Cilymaenllwyd are nothing short of amazing. Mum never lost any of her dignity and settled well and this is down to how the staff made her feel and how they looked after her. Watching your mother slipping away in front of your eyes is heartbreaking but knowing she is getting the best care is comforting. I would highly recommend this care home.
Mum moved into this care home 18 months ago. The staff were very attentive to her needs. She enjoyed the entertainment and trips out in the home's minibus. Mum had dementia and the staff were always available to help and encourage her in every way. The home is a beautiful building with fabulous views over farmland and the estuary. During Mum's final days, the staff were respectful and dignified. Thank you to the manager and the staff.
I have a relative who is very happy at this care home and has now been there for several years. My personal observation when visiting is that staff are kind and caring to the residents. My relative’s health has improved in the last year or so as staff have arranged for her medical needs to be attended to. She praises the quality of the food, activities and entertainment provided. She particularly enjoys the weekly minibus days out. Her room is of a high standard with excellent views of the sea. My relative thinks highly of the care home manager who has been very positive, professional and approachable whenever I have contacted her for advice. Arranging a visit to see my relative is straightforward and every effort is made to bring her to the phone when I ring the care home. This review is based on my personal observations when visiting and what I have been told by my relative.
