View Full Details of Windmill HouseMy dad came into Windmill House from another local care home which we thought was good! But wow, the difference we have found with Windmill House is totally different experience. Much more friendly staff, a pleasant reception area, excellent care with experienced staff. Food is great and the chef is so friendly with residents & guests. A particular staff member is brilliant with all the residents, her games & entertainment for residents is top notch. The manager has to take a lot of credit as it starts at the top. 10/10 thank you xx
Windmill House staff and management are all amazing. I myself worked in care for 20 years of which a lot of these years in managerial/senior positions and I couldn't fault Wildmill House. They tick ALL the boxes for good/excellent care, compassion and understanding of the complete needs of their residents. The home is fresh and smells clean no matter what time of day it is, all staff are kind and welcoming.
My mum was in respite care in another home & the standards & atmosphere was poor. After viewing 20+ local care homes, we visited Windmill House & generally, it brought tears to my eyes because of how welcoming, clean and well-presented the home was. The manager & her team are all incredible & the care home is really 'a home from home' where Mum has now been for 8 months. This is her 'forever home'.
Windmill Care home is the best ' home ' I have yet encountered. I have experience of other care homes where family members resided in the past and I also spent some years as a maintenance contractor to a large care home in Norfolk. Whilst there are other good homes I cannot say they match Windmill for it's overall outstanding qualities. The manager and all the team must be commended for their total devotion to the care and wellbeing of the residents. Each time I visit I feel the warmth and friendliness of all the staff and have absolute confidence in their professional abilities. It has a very happy family feel within and I feel privileged to have made friends there. I believe my partner's contentment stems from all aspects of the outstanding care she receives at Windmill. Thank you the manager and all the wonderful team
My mother has been resident at Windmill for almost two years now, and her quality of life, her physical health, and her cognitive skills have all improved massively as a result of living in Windmill's amazing caring and loving environment. The staff - management, carers, kitchen, housework and activities all work together to create a very special loving and fun atmosphere. They show respect and kindness in everything they do.
I selected Windmill House from five other care homes. I was very impressed at the ease with which I was able to organise a period of respite care for my mother, who is living with Alzheimer's and Dementia. The management, reception and staff are very supportive, knowledgeable and helpful. I am comforted by their great communication and warmth. Windmill House has a cosy atmosphere and the building is spacious, light and airy. The level of care my mother receives is of a high standard, so much so that my mother's condition has improved. The activities program is very well thought out with a wide variety of appropriate activities which are stimulating and engaging, delivered by a caring, loving, professional team. The food served at Windmill House is outstanding. The accommodation is spacious, clean and well-maintained. I am so thankful to Windmill House for providing such a good service in our time of need. I feel positive that my loved one is responding so well to being in their care.
I enjoyed my week's respite. It was my first experience of care home living and it was much better than I imagined. It was made to feel at 'home'. The staff were caring and I enjoyed being with/and in the company of other residents. I would have no hesitation in returning for repsite and I would recommend Windmill to friends. Thank you.
My step-dad was with the home manager at the Windmill House Care Home, they were first-class, looked after so well, all the staff were so kind and hugely supportive to myself and family. I would highly recommend this care home.
The manager is a superb professional. Attitude towards staff and residents is fabulous, very caring and incredibly sensitive. Truly professional in her field. The whole staff and team embrace every part of the home. I am thrilled as next of kin to one of the residents. I could not have chosen a better care home for him to be, so happy and settled in this beautiful home.
Mum has been in Windmill House for over two years now. She always says how lucky she is to be in "this wonderful home".
I have always found the home has a good atmosphere and overall the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Standard of care is good but communication could be improved, not always informed of changes to my dad's care, involved in review of his care plan. The home has plenty of activities for residents to join in and staff very proactive. Relative meetings held but not always given much notice of dates in advance. Food choice can be limited, especially at teatime, Dad is diabetic. Menu needs reviewing, raised with staff.
I was welcome as I arrived from the hospital and was taken to my room, which is extremely comfortable. The staff are all very kind, nothing is too much trouble. The food is very good, with a selection of very good meals and every day we have entertainment and items to make which I enjoy doing. Also, family members are always welcome. All in all everything and the staff are perfect, I am very happy here.
I visited a friend who is a resident at Windmill House. It was her birthday celebration. I was impressed by the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. They went above and beyond to make my friend's birthday joyful and special. The home felt homely and full of positive energy.
Windmill House offers an ideal environment for my mum - she is safe, well cared for and looked after by all the staff. There is a clear ethos of a caring home. Where the residents' needs are of paramount importance. I'm happy that my mum enjoys living at Windmill and is very well looked after and cared for. She loves the food and the regular entertainment. I'm happy that she is happy and well looked after.
My aunt has lived here since October and she is doing really well. She has made friends, she has a nice room overlooking the garden. Looking forward to being able to sit outside once the weather is better.
Dad is well cared for, clean and happy. Staff are kind and thoughtful. His key worker is excellent. There are always stimulating activities for him to join in.
When visiting, I have always found the premises to be at a good level of cleanliness and the staff to be most polite and helpful. They treat the residents with respect and dignity and there appears to be a good selection of activities for them. I am unable to comment on the management or the food, but would assume these are of a high level based on the other areas, neither can I comment on value for money.
Mum's residence at Windmill House gives us peace of mind that she is not going to have a fall or medical emergency on her own. She has made friends and particularly enjoyed the festive activities and entertainment. Staff are attentive and friendly, reassuring us that she is in the right place.
My dad is happy and hot content at Windmill House. The staff are caring to dad and my mind is at rest knowing he is being looked after. The activities are great for the residents who wish to partake.
I live overseas so I visited my mum at this care home for the first time in May. It was clean and the staff were very friendly and caring. It is spacious and has many rooms for guests to sit with their loved ones for coffee and a chat. The staff are professional and very helpful. My only complaint is that when I call to speak to my mum, which I do twice a week, the phone often rings with no answer or the call is disconnected. I last spoke to one of the staff members and she was lovely, patient and very kind, answering all my questions and concerns. Keep up the good work and thank you for all you do for my mum. Bless you all.
