View Full Details of Godswell Park Care HomeThis is a very well-managed nursing home, staffed by amazing people and serving excellent food. The gardens are flat, accessible and well-maintained. The care and support my mother-in-law received was exceptional, and as visitors, we were always made to feel welcome. Would definitely recommend Godswell Park to anyone looking for a care home.
We find our experience satisfactory; our visits are enjoyable; the carers and nurses are like friends. The living experience to our mind could not be more homely other than being in your own home. It is wonderful that we are always able to talk to someone about any concerns.
My review is for the care provided to my Father over the past 12 months he was a resident at the Care Home. The whole experience was fantastic and by encouragement, they managed to get my father from a semi-closed-down state following a hip operation to being an active member of the community. From my initial discussions with the team right through to his taking up residence to visiting provision of activities and the food... were all exemplary. In fact at a family meal in the restaurant with my father (resident) and myself and sons, my son asked how old you needed to be to be able to stay as he enjoyed the restaurant experience so much. Then at the time of passing the care and compassion given has been fantastic. A truly great experience throughout. Thank you.
I was very impressed with the home. The cleanliness and facilities that they provide are outstanding. The lunch in the restaurant was first class. All staff were kind, compassionate and very caring.
I recently visited a friend (previous neighbour) now living at Godswell Park Care Home. What an incredible home! My friend's room was lovely with great views across the countryside. The home was spotless (maintenance team busy touching up paint work while I was there), staff could not do enough for my friend and I. We went for a walk in the gardens as the sun was shining and the grounds were beautiful and well kept. On our return to their room we were offered tea and cake from a large selection, apparently this is a daily occurrence. I was impressed at the kindness shown by all staff and my friend's needs being met promptly by care staff who were professional, caring and kind. Thank you to all the staff for taking good care of my friend and restoring my confidence in care homes, keep up the great work!
I have been visiting Godswell Park Care Home for some time now, and always welcomed by smiling and helpful staff. The home is always immaculate and well-managed. I have visited the restaurant several times, the food is amazing and warrants five stars. My friend is very well looked after and is very happy and settled.
I have been visiting a friend at Godswell Park regularly for the last eighteen months and I am occasionally invited to lunch in the restaurant. I cannot fault a single thing, it is simply amazing. My grandmother lived her last few years in a local nursing home and passed away in 2017. I very much regret not knowing about Godswell then!
It’s a shame a nursing home can’t handle a blind, recently bereaved resident aged 97. Can barely stand, but apparently walking in corridor, not a loud voice, but apparently disturbing residents. Room isn’t near any other room either. Unconvinced personally, but she was asked to leave. Thankfully another nursing home can take all this in their stride. Good, caring staff, management, empathy and decision-making?
I cannot thank the care home enough for the outstanding care given. The rooms and all areas of the home are absolutely beautiful. Kindness from all the staff is outstanding. The food and the service is absolutely an amazing experience. Everything is clean to the highest standards. The management is always responsive and ready to go the extra mile. It's a 5-star hotel.
I recently visited a friend who is a resident at Godswell Park and had lunch in the beautiful dining room. Both my friend and other residents with whom I talked seemed extremely happy and well cared for. The lunch was delicious (five star!) and some of the vegetables and herbs came from their own kitchen garden. There was an extremely convivial atmosphere and I noticed that other residents also had visitors to lunch. The staff without exception and in all areas were extremely pleasant and helpful whilst also being respectful of my friend's needs and appeared to be very happy in their work. The whole building was exceptionally clean and fresh-smelling and the garden was extensive and beautifully maintained. My friend's bedroom was well-appointed and had a good view of the garden.
My mother had a very bad fall in November and was admitted for respite care when she came out of hospital. Her recovery was rapid thanks to the dedication of the wonderful staff. She liked Godswell Park Care Home so much that she decided to stay full-time. She has no regrets about moving and she has made some lovely new friends - the table they sit on at lunch has been designated the 'laughter table'!
Disappointing. Not recommended. Doesn't deserve a CQC rating of "Outstanding "in all 5 categories. Godswell Park doesn't live up to the promises made on the show round or on admission for respite care. There are restrictive rules for residents which are not included in the Contract. This caused great distress to my husband. On Easter Saturday a maintenance man adjusted the flushing system on my husband's en-suite toilet but left without checking that it worked. When I visited him on Easter Sunday there was an appalling stench from the toilet because of the urine and faeces that couldn't be flushed away. I pointed out to staff that this was unhygienic, especially in the middle of the Covid outbreak in the home at that time. I was told that it was on the maintenance schedule for the following Tuesday. I said that it was unacceptable that my husband should have to put up with this for 3 days. Because of my intervention, the toilet was repaired later that day. A bad experience.
The home is run with great professionalism at all levels. The residents are treated with respect and dignity and their well-being is clearly at the heart of everything that the home does. The staff are highly valued by management and this shows itself in how they deal with the residents: great warmth, patience and humour allied with extremely high standards in all areas. The nursing care is excellent. The staff never take the easy option and always do what is in the best interests of the resident. The food is first-rate. The building itself is efficient whilst at the same time feeling homely. The outside areas are beautiful and well-kept. The activities are genuinely interesting and significant thought is put into them. The home is absolutely first-rate.
My mother has been in and out of respite care this year. It was only on our third occasion that we were lucky enough to find the fantastic care of Godswell Park. The difference they make and the effort they give are both outstanding. The staff are very welcoming and so personal and caring, the food was extraordinary, so much choice and served in a very dignified and social atmosphere, which we greatly appreciated. The surrounding village has lots to offer for those who need a little less care and enjoy some freedom. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
We have been dreading the day we would have to put my mother into a care home but we eventually had to face the fact that our mother needed constant care. We were recommended Godswell Park and initially we were very nervous. However, it has been a truly wonderful revelation. Godswell Park is a beautiful care home with wonderful grounds. The interior looks like a five-star hotel but yet feels homely. The range of activities means that my mother is fully engaged every day and not bored or lonely. The food is amazing and my mum greatly looks forward to her meals. We were welcomed by the staff so warmly and my mother enjoys the interaction with the staff and other residents immensely.
Fantastic home, warm, friendly and lovely caring staff. Helpful and welcoming manager. Pleasant place, everyone is made to feel welcome. Super menu all home cooked. Beautiful dining room. Clean and fresh. I would highly recommended it to anyone.
I was a bit concerned when I heard that my grandmother was thinking about moving into residential care, one does hear some awful stories. I need not have worried. Not only is Godswell Park Care Home a beautiful home set in gorgeous well maintained grounds but all the staff are welcoming and actively listened to my grandmother and us her family about her needs and wishes. There are so many activities on offer and the food is great. My grandmother is a superb cook and good quality food is important to her and to maintain good health. I am confident that she is well cared for and I know that my mother is so pleased to have found a home that she can trust.
My mother stayed for a short period of respite. Godswell Park Care Home is a lovely place with beautiful grounds. I was very happy with the care and support she received whilst she was there and would not hesitate for her to return, if the need arises in the future.
Godswell is a beautiful care home with equally beautiful grounds which was particularly important for my aunt who likes to roam. All the staff are caring and my aunt was made to feel very welcome when she moved into the home. I cannot speak highly enough of everything that Godswell have done for my aunt. There have been restrictions on visiting but the management of Godswell have been helpful and always communicates decisions that have been made and, most importantly, why they have been made. As a relative, I always feel included which is most important.
Godswell Park Care Home is a truly wonderful place. From the moment I contacted Godswell I knew it was the right place for my mother who I felt could only be placed with people who really cared. It is clear that Godswell’s staff all display this spirit and all staff are courteous, respectful and knowledgeable about my mother’s needs. Nothing is too much trouble and they have done especially well during Covid managing obviously difficult rules keeping everyone safe. Godswell is unique. Well done and thank you.
