View Full Details of Kentford ManorDuring both the short & long 4 weeks, that my partner received End of Life Care at Kentford Manor, for me, one service provided stood out. Kentford is not like a hospice. It is a large purpose built home, in which the precious end of a person's life could easily be lost, amongst the other provision. Upside of this, is the business can afford to employ a Customer Care manager, part of whose responsibility is supporting two way communication with family, loved ones, the service user and others. Had this person not been there to mediate, the loss of my partner would be even more difficult to face than it is. Professionally neutral, she remains extraordinarily empathic, intuitive, considerate, caring and kind. I hope she never loses her touch, as the service she provides is indispensable.I cannot thank the home enough for their gentle and inclusive welcome, ensuring that the quality of my last hours with the deceased, were as good, for both of us as possible, under the circumstances.
We couldn't be happier with our mum's care at Kentford Manor. The team is exceptional and they have looked after the whole family at what has been a difficult time. We're so very grateful for everything they do and highly recommend their services.
Mum and Dad moved to Kentford Manor just before Christmas and we couldn't be happier with their experience. Everyone has done everything possible to help them settle in and feel at home -' even providing a new 55" TV because of my mum's poor eyesight. The whole team are so friendly and responsive and they genuinely seem to want to help.
I called Kentford Manor and asked them if they would be able to take my father directly from Spain. He lived in Spain and had suffered heart failure. I needed to get him back to the UK and the professional ongoing care he needed. Kentford Manor was my saving grace. They agreed they would take him with the information I had and would do assessments on arrival. I was exhausted and stressed and my father was in poor health due to the journey and long day. On arrival at Kentford Manor, everyone was ready to help us. They took over the care immediately of my father and also took care of me. I was able to go home that evening knowing he was in safe hands and I could take a step back. The staff have been so kind, patient, attentive, and considerate. It's been a huge adjustment for him leaving his home and dealing with a chronic health condition. I look back now almost a week ago and know that without the amazing staff and management at Kentford Manor things could have been so different.
As a family we relocated are beloved mum To 'Kentford Manor'. She had been impeccably cared for by the hospice but unfortunately had to be moved. On the wishes of our mum, who was at end of life care, she asked to go into a care home as she didn't want her daughters and husband to have to care for her at home. We as a family carried out her wishes. On looking at reviews we decided on Kentford Manor thinking this would be the best for our mum. Please do not send a loved one to the Kentford Manor for end of life care. The 'care' that our mum received was despicable and disgusting to say the least. We witnessed things that no family should have to go through and have had no apology or feedback whatsoever which we had been advised that we would receive. We are obviously taking this much further but felt a review was needed so as no-one has to go through the heartache that we went through at an already incredibly difficult time.
Very smoothly organising from leaving the hospital, getting assessed and transferring to your home. Nothing is a problem, lovely friendly very welcoming and intensive care for my mum, so impressed, keep up the great work, lovely team.
My mum decided it was time to move to a care home and she liked Kentford Manor straight away. The staff are all really friendly and helpful and made a big effort to make Mum feel welcome. The food is good and facilities are excellent. My mum is very happy and says she feels safe and well cared for here. I'd highly recommend it.
The staff here have been absolutely outstanding, amazing and really very nice too. My parents have moved into a beautiful double room, together, all at very short notice and in challenging circumstances. It has been seamless, the home is exactly that, they fit right in, are very well looked after and the whole place has a warm friendly and efficient atmosphere. Mum and Dad are happy, already looking more healthy, less worn and very comfortable, at home. The medical staff are very thorough, the food amazing and the managers are very committed, caring, friendly people. I recommend anyone who wants their parents to have a fantastic place to relax to consider our experience at Kentford as a pointer in the right direction. I am so happy to have found this gem.
We were so lucky to find Kentford Manor- an absolute gem of a care home. My in-laws were made to feel so welcome and put at ease by the wonderful staff immediately. Their suite is perfect, the staff amazing, and the home absolutely stunning - we can now relax knowing they are being very well looked after, in their beautiful new home. Thank you.
From the day we phoned to enquire for respite the service has been fantastic and cannot fault in any way.
Mother-in-law was in need of respite care. From the first phone call to Kentford Manor everything was very well organised. There was nothing that was too much to ask for.
We needed to find a care home for our dad for end-of-life care. Upon walking into Kentford Manor, we knew it was the one. We have not been disappointed. The respect, dignity and care for not only our dad, but his family has been second to none. The manager and her team are outstanding. A huge thank you to the carers and nurses there, a nurse and a carer stood out in not only their professionalism, but caring attitude, but the whole team there are all great. A huge thank you from us for making this difficult time so much easier knowing he was safe and well cared for.
I am very impressed by the quality of care here. The carers here are very caring. They get to know the residents’ natures, and their likes and dislikes very quickly. You do feel that they love the residents and want them to be treated as they would want their own family treated. It has a warm, friendly atmosphere and for both my mother and her family it is as if we belong to one big family here. The activities’ leaders are excellent and lead a wide variety of activities. There could perhaps be more of them for such a big home.
My mother has been at Kentford Manor for almost a year. The home is lovely, modern, bright and spotlessly clean. All the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and caring. There are daily activities led by co-ordinators who provide a stimulating programme of activities, Mum particularly loves the weekly musical entertainment. Relatives are always made to feel welcome, with coffee, tea and cakes always available in the bistro. If you are looking for a safe and happy home, then Kentford Manor is the place. Mum calls her carers ‘her friends’.
We were very concerned to find the right care home for Mum and were recommended Kentford by the hospital after Mum was having issues with falling and her mobility. We are so pleased with Kentford. Mum seems happier than she has been in years. The team are hard-working and friendly, the home feels fresh and well-maintained. The activities for the residents planned by the staff member responsible enhance Mum's life and she loves to take part. After a difficult decision, it’s turned out for the best and nice to see her content and well looked after.
I have always found Kentford Manor and its staff welcoming and very professional, it is a clean, warm and secure place. The resident has been able to settle in well by having a comfortable and spacious room with some of her possessions around her. She enjoys taking part in the organised events. Visitors are always made to feel at home.
Overall a very high standard of care, from the nursing staff, management and reception. The only issue we had was the slow administration of our refund from head office which is clearly separate from the care aspect in the home itself.
Have spent the last 2 days visiting my Mum here during the day. The staff are friendly, kind and professional. My mother's complex needs are being attended to very well. The food is lovely and the garden is very nice too. Thank you.
My wife and I attended the summer party, it was just a lovely afternoon of entertainment and fantastic food. It was uplifting to see the residents' faces light up when all the old songs were sung. The deputy manager and the team did the residents and guests proud.
My mother has been at Kentford Manor since last November, when respite care was urgently required. Kentford's response was great. Since then she has become a permanent resident. In truth, the staff are still getting to know my mother and her 'little ways'. Whilst she appears settled, the reintroduction of the activities staff will be a 'quality of life' change, with something to keep her involved and entertained. Management open and listens to concerns. The home is clean and the garden accessible. I applaud all the staff and their patience, their professionalism and smiles. I hope Care UK recognise their commitment accordingly.
