View Full Details of Dearne HallThose on the floor I visited were particularly helpful, happy and couldn't do enough for us. The knowledge they had of their residents was amazing. They were very understanding and respectful. They have such a tough job (one I could not fathom doing myself), and she acted above and beyond. Every staff member I met was courteous and helpful. The facilities were clean, well kept and simply stunning. Each resident appeared to be very well cared for.
Staff are kind and caring, the manager has great knowledge of residents needs and makes a home from home feel. Lots of activities especially themed around events, which gives you things to look forward to, even Christmas Carol Concert for the residents! A wonderful well run home.
Always kept nice and clean. Carers kind and accommodating to mum. Lots of activities in the home particularly leading up to Christmas.
The staff are always friendly, approachable and caring. The management are always happy to answer any questions. Dad says the food is lovely. The staff always try to encourage dad to be involved in activities even though he is often reluctant.
Dearne Hall is a lovely care home with a happy environment. All the staff I met were friendly, helpful, caring and treated residents as individuals and with respect. The home is clean and tidy and caters for various needs. Medication was delivered on time and my husband was helped with washing and dressing. The was quite good and plentiful.
Dearne Hall Care Home is a very friendly place. I always feel welcome when I visit my friend. Everyone is so helpful and supportive and any questions or requests are listened to and responded to straight away. It's been difficult for my friend to make the move into a care home but all the staff have made it easy for her to settle. I know that she is getting the best care possible.
The staff are so caring and take time to get to know the residents to be able to meet their needs. The staff are always friendly and interact well with all the residents. I feel happy that my loved one is at Dearne Hall as I know she’s getting the best care she can and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for care for their loved one.
Every minute has been a pleasure, feels like a home as soon as you walk in. Everybody has been lovely to us. The home has been amazing, my husband has been safe and looked after amazingly. It has been like having an extended family.
Dad was cared for with respect care and dignity. They staff service and attention was exemplary. Dad had enjoyed the last 10 months in your care and it gave his family peace of mind knowing he was well cared for. It was his home for that period and it felt like it. When Dad's health deteriorated, your staff were there to attend to his every need. Finally, he died with me and the night staff with him. The day staff attended to my dad, washing, dressing and even giving him a shave after his death. Even in death, dignity was shown to him and the staff were there to support the family.
My Mum was placed into Dearne Hall initially on a temporary respite basis, all the staff made her feel so welcome, she was treated with much love, care and respect. Her room was lovely, bright and clean. Mum loved the food at Dearne Hall and would tell us every day what she had eaten. There’s regular entertainment there and we found mum more than once up dancing and singing with staff and residents. Mum returned home to her bungalow after a few weeks but missed everyone so much, after help from the management mum was able to return on a permanent basis and is loving it, we are also very relieved to know she is safe and secure and being well cared for. We can pick her up anytime and take her out and always made to feel so welcome on her return. Thank you all at Dearne Hall can’t praise you enough. You made a very difficult decision for mums wellbeing much easier and gave us the confidence she’s in great hands.
I can’t rate this home enough, my grandma moved in about a year and a half ago and from the start, the staff have been amazing. We were never worried she wasn’t being looked after and whenever we have visited the staff have told us all about the activists and trips they’ve done and what my grandma has been doing. We know she’s safe, well cared for and is in the hands of the lovely ladies on her floor. Me and my Mum can’t thank you enough!
Took Dad to Dearne Hall Care Home today via emergency placement for his safety. Greeted with smiles and very comfortable and clean surroundings. The staff were very welcoming and happy to show us around. Dad was taken to his room which I’m sure he appreciated due to him being tired and arriving at 9pm. The room was spot on, he thought he was on holiday and with reassurance of the great facilities on offer and the prompt checks on his health he was snug as a bug by the time I rang to check on him. An absolute reassuring thought as he’s a stubborn old miner lad. The staff appeared courteous and relaxed which is appreciative as I know these people are extremely busy. Look forward to hearing how he got on after a comfortable night. Review is based on the overall experience and information on arrival and won’t be changed from excellent unless required.
Mum has been in Dearne Hall Care Home for four years, the hardest thing we had to do. The carers are angels everyone of them. Always on hand to chat about any worries we have about Mum. I watch them when they are connecting with a service user and the compassion they show on their face is genuine. I love everyone of them. They are great with Mum which is reassuring to us. I recently recommended the care home to my friend who had to put her mum in care she told me I was right about Dearne Hall it was the best home she’d ever seen.
Some issues with mother's mobility (walking). She cannot do this activity but mother says a person says she can do it, and also has never refused any treatment from a doctor but says on her record that she had? I've not seen the records, only mother's say so, but overall she's very happy with the care she receives here. I have no concerns with any treatment or care I have witnessed on our visits or talking to others.
My mum has been in Dearne Hall for just over a year now and has settled in very well. She has gone from being unsettled and confused to being calm and settled. The staff at the home are amazing, they are very caring and sensitive to my mum's needs, nothing is too much trouble. The daily activities are very well planned and my mum loves to join in. All staff keep you informed of any changes or hiccups my mum may have. The food in the home is lovely, well prepared and always smells lovely. All in all, I can't praise the staff enough for the great job they are doing.
My mum spent her last few weeks at Dearne Hall, the Deputy Manager and his staff on floor 1 were amazing, the care and dignity, respect that was given to my mum and our family was above and beyond all expectations, my sisters and I practically moved in for 5 days and nights to be with my mum in her final days. The staff, several in particular, were absolutely amazing and kind they really cared about my mum and us, such a lovely home where families can be reassured that their loved ones are receiving the care they need. Thank you to all the staff, the ones I can't remember the names of but everyone on floor 1 for the loving care you showed my mum, you should all be very proud of yourselves.
My mother was admitted to Dearne Hall from hospital and has been there just over a month. Before moving to Dearne Hall she was deteriorating rapidly being unable to care properly for herself. Visiting carers were very good but she really needed more support. In Dearne Hall she has 24 hour high quality care and has started to mix with the other residents so has company and there are often arranged activities/entertainment. All the staff seem excellent and we are able to relax knowing that she is safe and cared for.
My mum has been at Dearne Hall only seven months and I am extremely pleased with the care she receives. Nothing seems to be any trouble for the staff in doing things for my mum. She always looks clean and tidy and has her nails and hair done on a regular basis. The home is very clean and very homely and we as a family are very pleased she is where she is.
Good care and staff are very good.
My dad was placed at the home during the Covid pandemic. It’s been a difficult year for us as a family having to make the difficult decision to place dad in care due to the rapid deterioration in his cognition. The safety of his well-being was our main priority and having placed him into a lovely caring environment has helped in our coming to terms with his condition. Even though our visits have been limited Dad has always appeared to be clean, dry and well looked after. Staff are always friendly and caring and happy to answer any questions. We are kept updated on any key issues. We are looking forward to being able to build on our relationship with staff once restrictions are lifted. It’s hard to complete the options as we have very limited experience in observing what is being asked due to not being able to access the home due to covid restrictions.
