View Full Details of Acer Court Care Home - Avery HealthcareMy mother enjoyed her stay. Well looked after, food very good, friendly, kind, warm and inviting. Would recommend.
Accommodation is spotless and comfortable. Staff are very attentive to my husband's limitations and very supportive of me. My husband felt very safe in this environment.
Our mum had amazing care from a very compassionate team at Acer Court, her end of life care was exceptional from all staff, which included looking after my sister and I too.
Mum moved into Acer Court in June. We were impressed with the place from day one, clean and spacious like a hotel. The staff have helped Mum to settle in, everyone is friendly and caring. We feel satisfied that Mum is being looked after well with dignity and respect.
Fantastic staff, very friendly and helpful. Look after patients very well.
This is without doubt, one of the worst run care homes I have had the pleasure of seeing. Despite washing my dads feet daily nobody saw my dad's was 1/2 black and turning gangrenous toe, where the necrotic infection spread through his toe into other toes requiring immediate hospitalization. The surgeons were unable to operate and my dad has to suffer daily with extreme pain in his infected foot, due entirely to lack of care. They continue to owe my dad over £2000+ due to taking payments from myself and the council in overlapping periods, and have delayed and delayed the repayment of funds acknowledging they're owed for over 4 months.
Dad has recently moved to Acer Court following a difficult 2 years living alone in Birmingham. He can be an awkward so-and-so, with exacting standards and unrealistic expectations at times, but the love, care and enthusiasm for life demonstrated by everyone on the team at the home have broken through to Dad, and he has rediscovered a zest for life that is wonderful to see and very infectious. He loves ringing me to tell me what he has been up to, or what delights he has had to eat. I couldn't be happier because he is finding life so much better now.
Mum has settled well, assisted by the caring staff. Even though she is on a special diet liquidised/pureed she always looks forward to meal times and her meals are tasty and well presented. She is encouraged to join in activities and particularly enjoyed the Christmas Fayre that was organised and also the singers that visit. Communication between us and the home is excellent with regular updates. I have also noticed the 'little extras' e.g. a resident went to a family wedding and the staff bought lipstick and perfume for her and helped her to feel extra special.
The 'Bistro' evenings continue to provide a lovely opportunity for families to join their relatives for a great meal and social event. Equally good for my family as 'eating out' is no longer viable. All the staff at its care home care for and care about our mum.
I have nothing but praise for the care that Mum has received since arriving at Acer Court. The care, compassion, dignity and respect shown by each and every carer have not gone unnoticed. Mum is encouraged to join in activities but equally given her own space when wanted.
Acer Court is fabulous. The care my mother-in-law has been given is second to none. The home is always clean and tidy. The carers work so hard to keep all the clients comfortable, clean and well looked after. Even when my mother-in-law was on end-of-life care the love and respect shown not only to her but the whole family was exceptional.
Very welcoming, always clean and tidy. Carers are exceptional.
My dad is living his best life at Acer Court. Surrounded by love and five star care and support! The warmth of the welcome at Acer Court is off the scale! A wonderful place for Dad to call home. A huge thank you to the entire team.
Staff very good - work hard. Rooms well kept - good food. Activities excellent. Mum is well settled - I am happy she is safe and looked after well.
Activities that are organised are second to none. Stimulating and promoting physical activity. Certain levels of care are met but need consistency, i.e. creat that needs to be used to prevent flare up of dry asking and infection. Check it is done both morning and night. Check she is showering with support on a daily basis.
Mum had been a resident at Acer Court for 3 years but when she had to apply for Local Authority funding due to depleted savings we were told that we had to pay a £55 top up charge. As we couldn't afford this amount we had to find a care home that would waive the top up fees. The new care home is marvellous and made us realise how bad Acer Court had been over the years. My Mum was mentally alert so could tell us what she had seen and experienced herself and to other residents. The catalogue of things that had happened over the years are too lengthy to explain here but ranged from running out of medication and incontinence pads, unattended residents left in the lounge for long periods of time (which I witnessed and reported myself) to more serious incidents of bruising and falls. I had numerous meetings and kept a diary, which contained many pages of incidents. We also had to wait four months for Mum to be refunded monies she had overpaid. I would not recommend this care home at all.
My father came to Acer Court and we are very happy with the care provided. The staff and management are great.
My grandad has just moved into Acer Court, and we are very happy with how he has settled in. The staff and management are very helpful.
The staff are always welcoming to myself and helpful when needed.
I cannot thank the manager and all the staff at Acer Court for the help that they have provided not only for my dad but for me. They have provided my dad with a warm, safe place to stay.
