View Full Details of Merton PlaceMy dad was transferred from hospital following a health condition to Merton Place, he was treated with dignity and kindness. He had two weeks at Merton Place, sadly he passed on 15th May. I would like to thank all the staff at Merton Place for their kindness shown to us as a family. Special thanks to the staff.
Mum only spent a couple of months here but was at all times treated with care and respect. The staff were polite and friendly whenever we visited, and I'm grateful to them for making Mum's last couple of months comfortable. There was a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the place.
My mum is the most precious thing to me and knowing that she is being taken care of is a godsend. Mum has been in Merton Place for nearly 7 years and I cannot praise the staff more for taking such good care of her and keeping in touch with the family. Putting family members in care homes is a difficult decision but having an excellent care home helps to diminish any worries.
A modern care home with pleasant, well-equipped rooms for residents with lots of space in the other common rooms (sitting and dining areas). Staff look after Dad very well and care for him and his needs. As I don't live in the area, I rely on the home for updates about Dad and any specific needs he requires me to sort out. I always feel welcomed and have access with my own key card to the setting (following the reduction in Covid rules). They also have a good relationship with the local health services (GP and specialist services) when further intervention is required.
My mum has been in Merton Place for about 8 years now the service and care that Mum gets is second to none. I know she is in good safe hands the food is always good. The staff are friendly and will always answer any questions.
Fantastic home and the staff are brilliant. My wife is very happy there and feels at home. Facilities are good and weekly events for residents are well thought out. The staff are very helpful and friendly, my wife is looked after very well. Highly recommend. Thanks to all staff for everything they do.
My mother has been a resident here for approximately two years. It is a lovely place and I have been so grateful to all the staff for their skill, concern and care. I live a long way from North Wales and knowing my mother is in such a safe and caring place gives me great peace of mind, for which I am very grateful.
My father was admitted to Merton Place in May 2022 after spending considerable time in the hospital. As a family, we were concerned as to how he would settle in a care home. We needn't have worried! The manager, her deputy and all the nursing and care team staff at Merton Place have done everything they could to welcome Dad into his new home, or hotel as he likes to think of it. Nothing is too much trouble and after an initial settling-in period Dad has benefitted from the increased social interaction he now has and is enjoying the attention, comfort and surroundings of his new home. The welcoming and caring environment at Merton Place is the first thing that strikes you when you step inside. There is always a cheerful smile and welcome greeting to meet you. All residents are treated with dignity and respect and immediately made to feel part of a larger, happy family. The regular weekly entertainment and activities are enjoyed by all a ready stimulus for chat and happy memories.
My dad needed to spend some time in full-time care during the summer and we were fortunate enough to be able to find a place for him at Merton Place. All of the team are so helpful and friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. Dad really enjoyed being there and the staff made him feel so well cared for. Sadly, he reached the end of life during his stay and the care and compassion shown to Dad and all of us, was something we will always be grateful for.
My husband spent 4-months as a resident. He required a lot of care, and Merton Place looked after him in such a loving and caring way that it felt like home. I cannot give enough praise to all the staff. A lovely environment where everyone is treated with kindness and respect.
Recently I was advised that my mother needed to move from a residential home into a nursing home by a hospital assessment team. After much searching, I found Merton Place and we were lucky that there was a vacancy for Mum. She had some difficulty settling into her new home after two months in a hospital environment. Merton Place have done everything possible to help Mum settle. They have adapted their practice to suit her needs and gone the extra mile to get to know her and to help her to feel safe and cared for. I could not be happier with the way that the Manager, Deputy and all the nursing and care team are looking after Mum. They have really taken the time to get to know her. The home environment reflects the respect and care they give to their residents, it is warm and inviting and backed up with attentive and loving care. The G,P. that attends the residents is fantastic and works collaboratively with the staff and relatives. Family are also made very welcome at the home.
My mother was cared for in Merton Place for 12months when it was deemed she could not return to her carehome. She suffered from dementia and was mainly bed bound. We could not have chosen a better nursing home and after trawling round many we decided on Merton Place. The care she received was exceptional and we could not have asked for more.
A purpose built care home offering intensive care. Staff always helpful and seemed genuinely concerned to keep my mother (advanced dementia and immobile) as happy and well cared for as possible. The building and rooms were kept clean, tidy and fresh. External entertainers were brought in for residents. Managed palliative care well.
The service etc. is at best excellent,at worst good, but never bad. With different staff, circumstances etc. standards fluctuate. Clean, fresh home, excellent, approachable yet professional management. Food good and varied. They care about the spouse/partner as much as the resident. Some night staff bit iffy, but monitoring and training is ongoing.
