View Full Details of Lincombe Manor Care CentreSince moving from another care home where I was very unhappy, Lincombe is a lovely place to live. The staff make me laugh. The food is lovely. I'm very happy.
Very caring staff. All requests attended to. Comfortable room and pleasant sitting room with pleasant outlook (when not raining!).
Every aspect of Lincombe Manor Care Centre is first-class. The staff, food, and quality of care are outstanding. Everyone is so friendly.
My mum has been a resident at Lincombe Manor for over five years. When she was first admitted we thought she might have only months to live but it is a testament to the excellent care given by all the wonderful staff that she is still with us and today we celebrated her 90th Birthday. We thought Mum would struggle to live in a care home because she has always been fiercely independent but Lincombe Manor has clearly given her a new lease of life, many thanks to the manager and the wonderful caring and friendly staff, who are professional at all times.
Own a fourth-year anniversary, the love shown by all staff is and continues to be superb. And the care shown is still the very best. My thanks to all who look after my wife.
Mum has been at Lincombe Manor since January. From our very first visit, every member of staff has always been so very welcoming and lovely to us. As a family, we now feel we have peace of mind knowing that Mum is so well cared for. I have visited many care homes over the years. I can honestly say that Lincombe Manor is one of the best care homes by far. It is in such a lovely setting with amazing views from the residents' lounge. As soon as anything is of concern regarding mum's health, for example, infection or increased pain, it is acted on immediately. Again giving us peace of mind as this was always something that was very challenging when Mum was living independently. Mum really enjoys the activities. When she is able to attend. They always make them good fun for the residents. Thank you to all the caring staff for looking after our mum so well. It is such a comfort to know she is safe and we all feel part of the family when we visit.
As a self funding resident, whom at the age of 94 we expected better care and communication for premium rates. Poor communication, leading to a very poorly Dad admitted to hospital. Dangerously high blood pressure and bruising that couldn't and wouldn't be explained. A manager that runs a care home more like a business than a care provider. Wouldn't take our concerns seriously - emergency removal to another home. Beware, the building might be beautiful but is the care?
My mother received the best care and support from everyone at Lincombe Manor Care Centre. Love, comfort and dignity were always given to her. The same kindness was given to me as a visitor, it was so kind and reassuring. The facilities were of a high standard and beautiful location, the very best I could have wished for. Thank you to all.
We had the most wonderful experience at a most tragic time. The care of our late mother was absolutely outstanding with kindness, empathy and professionalism for our mother and for us as a family. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and in the most beautiful of settings.
Dad stays in Lincombe Manor for respite every 3-4 months, we chose this home as the staff are really friendly and greet Dad as part of the family. The rooms are very well decorated, comfortable and have en-suite facilities. He enjoys the varied food and I feel reassured that the staff are there 24/7 for him if he needs them. Dad never participates but the daily activities and entertainment look great. If you are looking for five-star accommodation and facilities then Lincombe Manor is the right care home for you.
Mum was taken into Hewitt Lodge at short notice after being checked for a broken hip and being confused. I was in shock but the staff made me feel confident that Mum was in the best place. A particular member of staff was the first person I spoke to and she has been an incredible support. The other staff who have been particularly good, both with Mum and with me, are another four particular staff members and some of the housekeeping and catering staff. All professional, whilst being friendly. Mum has improved tremendously and is better than in quite some time. Good to see her chatting with staff and other residents. Laughing a lot too! Staff have helped with Mum to phone friends and family. We have had regular updates on the process of assessment, her treatment and her improvements too. I knew Mum needed to be there but I was not looking forward to spending time there myself. I should not have worried. It is a pleasant and welcoming place and I've sat and joined in with jigsaws, crosswords etc.
This review is for Hewitt Lodge. Our elderly (91) family friend has been at Hewitt Lodge until recently after being discharged from hospital after hip surgery. The staff were all very kind and attentive and he enjoyed his stay there. The care he received was very respectful and delivered with a sense of humour which he appreciated. He really enjoyed the food and the facilities were excellent. He has fully agreed to me writing a review for them.
From the moment you enter the building, it is obvious that this is a care home of high quality. The admin team are always on hand to help with any questions and handle them swiftly, efficiently and always with a smile. The care staff are second to none. Nothing is too much trouble. There is also an army of unsung heroes/heroines behind the scenes who work just as hard to make the residents feel at home, from keeping the home clean, hanging a picture on the wall, keeping the residents entertained, cooking high-quality meals, delivering drinks and so much more. The nursing care is also second to none. Happiness radiates throughout the building. The staff take very good care of the residents and also care for their relatives. Although my mother's illness caused constant pain, she embraced Lincombe Manor life as much as she was able and the last few weeks of her life were as happy as they could possibly have been.
I have been visiting Lincombe Manor twice a week for over a year and always find dedicated and friendly staff from the minute you enter the building. The care centre has a calm and happy atmosphere and I always feel very welcome and at home while I'm there. It's not unusual to hear a member of staff singing softly or sharing a funny story while going about their duties.
Mum has been a resident since October 2021, it is only through the care, support and excellent nursing skills that she is thriving. We are very happy with Lincombe Manor. The staff truly care and the facilities are excellent.
Carers giving a very good service. Greatly assisted when university carers gave care help during holiday periods.
Wow! This is what care homes should be like. Have not seen my mum so relaxed for ages. Care is top-notch, always making sure my mum is OK and adjusting her pain meds as appropriate. Facilities, as my daughter said are insane! So good. Still early days to comment on activities and food and drink but so far so good. Some meals are excellent, some just good. I'm now a believer in palliative care where as I used to think we couldn't do it. So happy my mum's last days will be in comfort (with a bit of luxury).
Kind people who look after me. Make me feel good about myself. I feel safe, I feel I am well-cared for. My wishes and my requests are always respected and taken into consideration. I enjoy the food. I enjoy my views. Staff members go beyond their ways to make sure I feel good. I feel homely here. This place makes it easy for me to be connected with my distant family in Australia and the world. I get my newspaper every day, I get my hair done etc.
I have been here 5 days and settled in very well. The staff and environment are excellent. I couldn't have found a more pleasant and welcoming home.
I think the care my mum receives is amazing. She is kept safe. She is treated with great respect and appears to be loved by everyone. Not only is Mum cared for, but so are we as a family. Nothing is too difficult. We all love visiting. It feels like a home and you can't get better than that!
