View Full Details of Ashcroft Care HomeSo wonderful! The activity coordinator was so kind and caring. It was lovely to see the wonderful animal activities and other activities that she has put together for all of the residents at the care home. The care home felt like a home away from home, with lots of love and support for everyone. Nothing was as complicated or difficult to do when asked. Thank you, everyone.
Staff are fabulous, caring and so patient with not only my friend but all the residents within the home, my friend is cared for in such an amazing manner! All her personal hygiene is fantastic! They have a hairdresser come in so that's always kept on top of. The activity lady is always doing their nails in the sensory/nail bar For a period of relaxation, she offers a wide range of activities always keeping them busy if it's trips out, painting, armchair travel, pet therapy she's always busy with them and they are always happy. They have entertainment once a week, someone different every time keeping the residents entertained. The food is amazing the two cooks go out of their way to make outstanding dinners! Pudding is always my friend's favourite. Domestic is always doing a great job! No job is too big for them! Her room is always clean and smells lovely. Management is always happy to help if we ever have a problem. Overall if I could give this care home any stars it would 10! They deserve it!
From the moment I first stepped into the home until the day my dad passed away, I felt confident that I could trust everyone to care for my dad the way we had. My dad said that he felt safe and well there and "the girls" were so kind to him, talking to him as if they had known him for a while. Also listening to him even when his words held no meaning for them. Nothing was too much trouble and if he wanted to stay in bed, he could live his life as he wanted it. Thank you to everyone. You are all amazing and we want you all to appreciate how amazing you are.
My Nan is a resident and I must say it's an absolute pleasure to visit her and see how happy she is and well looked after. The food that the lovely cook provides is beautiful and healthy. And where to start on the activities that are provided - 10/10! Launderette, a pub that includes quizzes etc, trips out, pet therapy and many more activities. The staff go above and beyond to make the residents feel comfortable just as they should when it's now their home. Thank you to all the team at Ashcroft Sutton in Ashfield you are all amazing.
The staff at the care home were always good-tempered, polite and genuinely cared for my father as a person as well as a resident. He was always clean, dressed and well-fed. The entertainment to keep the resident's minds occupied was well thought out and planned.
I can't praise this lovely care home enough. The care, love and attention my husband received was exemplary, not only to him but to me also. We were made to feel like one of the family and treated with love and respect as were all the other residents and families. The end-of-life care was so special with each member of the team taking turns to sit with him day and night and they never left him alone until he passed. Excellent!
No concerns. My sister is very well looked after. The staff are very caring. The home is lovely and clean.
I find all the staff very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I find the staff to be more like a family than being workers as they communicate and talk to both residents and myself as if they have known us for years. Always have a smile on their faces and it's pleasant to visit. Everyone always says hello, staff like to find some background of my dad so they can have a chat with him, this makes my dad's days more like a family visit rather than a resident.
A caring, loving home of a very high standard. Amazing staff who are excellent and really do care. Every aspect of this home is very good from the care, cleanliness, the food to the care of residents' laundry. Daily activities are inclusive of all residents. Amazing home. Well done.
Very caring staff. Clean with good food. Look after my husband and all his needs.
Mum was a resident at Ashcroft for around 3 years, until she passed away in October. We couldn't have wished for better care for her. Mum had many complex needs, which were taken care of wonderfully. The staff are all amazing, warm, friendly and professional. After such a long time, they felt like family. When Mum passed, very recently, the staff were there for me every step of the way making sure I was OK, had drinks etc as well as making sure Mum was as comfortable as possible in her last days and hours. The support I received after she passed was fantastic. I have nothing but praise for each and every one of them. We really could not have chosen a better place for her.
My father stayed at Ashcroft for 6 months until he passed away in June. During his stay he was treated with the best care and support I could have wished for. It has a real family feel. He was encouraged to engage in activities most days. The food was top-class. I was included in decisions made for him and the whole staff team also cared for me. I can't thank everyone enough for giving Dad fantastic care and dignity in his last days.
Mum has multiple medical problems and the staff and management at Ashcroft have worked hard to put into place just what Mum needs. They have been willing to learn from our experiences of caring for Mum prior to entering the home and they keep us informed, always having time to chat whether there are concerns or not. Not only that, they have helped us through our emotional transition and continually put our minds at rest. The staff care for us when we visit and it really is a 'new home' for Mum. It is always a friendly atmosphere. Renovations are underway and every consideration is being made to care for the residents during this time of change. On our first visit to Ashcroft, we knew it was the place for Mum and we are continually reminded of that decision every day. Can't thank the staff enough for all their hard work and the standard of gentle care for Mum.
Fantastic service from the beginning to the end. The staff was so considerate and caring throughout the whole process. Myself and my family will be forever grateful for the way the staff have been with my grandma and grandad.
Dad moved to Ashcroft in Sept 2023 after a year of lengthy hospital stays. He is in the later stages of dementia. He is now thriving. From day 1 staff have been outstanding. He is always clean, shaven and appropriately dressed. He takes his meds in a timely manner, moves regularly and joins other residents in the communal lounge & social events (he has a photo diary charting all the events he takes part in &a helps him to recall them & talk to us about them). His meals are hearty and nutritious. His en-suite room is modern and furnished with everything Dad needs to live life safely. All staff without exception are proactive, kind and compassionate. They make it a very positive experience for all of Dad's visitors too, particularly Mum, a detail that cannot be underestimated. Dad tells me the best things about Ashcroft are the staff and the fact that they have an in-house pub just a few doors down from his room! Outstanding establishment & we are truly grateful. Thank you.
We visit Mum regularly. Room is always tidy, and she had a drink of juice to hand. Very impressed with the laundry service. Staff are always very friendly and helpful. All in all, we are happy with the care Mum is getting. Thank you, Ashcroft.
My mum moved to Ashcroft a week ago. Very upsetting for us both as we never thought it would come to this. However, what fantastic, caring staff who go above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble (and I know they must think, oh it's not her again). They have never made me feel I am being a nuisance and I already know they love her, as I do. This is not a job to these people, it really is a vocation. I have looked after Mum 24/7 for the last four years now I can relax and enjoy my life knowing she is safe.
My mum moved to Ashcroft Care Home in Dec 21 on a palliative care plan, she rallied and settled in quite nicely to Ashcroft. The staff were always very good with her (she was not mobile) and she said she was well looked after when I asked her. Mum wasn't a social person and they never pushed her to join in but respected her wish to mainly stay in her room. Sadly mum relapsed in July this year and passed away peacefully in August. I was so worried about her going into a care home but I have to say both my brother and I were very happy with her treatment. Thank you to all the staff.
Our mum came to live at Ashcroft in March 2022. She has been treated with the greatest care and respect by all of the lovely staff. We couldn't ask for more, and on the 2nd of June, Mum and her family were treated to a fabulous Jubille party generously put on by the staff. Great food and entertainment were enjoyed by all. Well done to all involved.
Since visiting Ashcroft Care Home over the past year I have found the staff welcoming, friendly and professional with a very homely atmosphere. All of the staff are doing a wonderful job and I personally appreciate the care that they are providing for my husband. Praise for Ashcroft!
