View Full Details of The Orangery Nursing HomeMy mother was sent to The Orangery by the NHS for palliative care. This care home was 5 minutes walk away from her home, so my father could visit every day. The staff always made you feel welcome. The care they gave was excellent. I couldn't thank them all enough from the cleaners to managers.
The care at The Orangery Nursing Home has, in the past, been excellent but recent alterations to the building have led to a reduction in care and residents' well-being. Prior to the changes, there was a large resident's lounge/dining area upstairs for those with dementia, with a nurse's office at one end and a rest area for carers at the other, which allowed for targeted care for all. Unfortunately, the lounge/diner has been converted into extra bedrooms and the number of carers upstairs has been reduced from 5 to 4, rather than increased to, say 6, to compensate for the extra residents and the additional work in moving residents downstairs and looking after them there. The upshot is that the carers, who are all excellent, are overworked and upstairs residents are either left in bed until late in the morning or even lunchtime or left to wander the corridors and in and out of other residents' rooms. This obviously causes distress and increases the risks of falls and injury.
Although my mother only stayed at the Orangery for a short time, the level of respect and dignity she was shown was second to none. The staff were truly amazing in every role. The family were made to feel welcome on each visit, I spent many hours at the home and at no time did the standards drop. Anyone anxious about having to put a loved one into a care home should really consider The Orangery.
We have recently moved my mother to The Orangery. She was made to feel very welcome from the outset and all the staff have been very kind and attentive at all times. She is treated with respect and kindness and has settled into a new environment very quickly because of the excellent staff and super facilities.
My mother was recently admitted to The Orangery Nursing Home as an end-of-life client and I could not have wished for more for her. The care she received at all times both day and night was exemplary, their kindness extending to us as a family. The home is a happy peaceful place, with staff that show dignity and respect. My mother always looked well cared for and told me they 'made her feel safe'. I will be forever grateful to the whole team for the outstanding care they gave at the hardest time.
My mother-in-law came to The Orangery last January. The staff have always been polite and helpful. She has settled in well with the support of very professional and kind staff. I can not thank the staff enough for all the amazing care and support they have given my mother-in-law. Thank you. I would recommend this home highly.
Mum has been very happy at The Orangery since her admission. The environment is calm and friendly and we are always made to feel very welcome. Mum has settled in very well and is very comfortable. The staff are all wonderful, everyone is always very happy and the residents are well cared for. The home itself is beautiful and is always fresh and tidy.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you. Dad was only in the home for seven weeks before he passed away. The manager is a lovely and wonderful person, she is doing an excellent job and her staff are amazing, every single one of them so loving and caring. Nothing was too much trouble, were always on hand and every member of the staff always had big smiles. A fantastic home with a wonderful manager and all staff. Truly thankful to all. Ten out of ten.
Outstanding care, staff are amazing and always go the extra mile.
My experience has been exceptional, all members of staff are so lovely and kind towards all the residents. The residents have always got an activity to look forward to.
Lovely care home with a wonderful atmosphere. The staff are friendly and very helpful and I could not recommend them enough. They catered for all our needs. The care home was always kept in a very clean and tidy state.
I have been very happy with the care my husband is having at The Orangery Nursing Home. All the staff are very caring and helpful, not only to my husband, but to me and other family members and visitors. There is a very happy, friendly atmosphere among everybody and it is always clean and well-run. There are activities most days. I can thoroughly recommend The Orangery to anyone who is looking for a care home.
Very friendly staff. My husband's aunt seems to feel safe and happy. The staff cannot do enough to make her stay a happy one for her. A very clean and secure home.
My mum has been at The Orangery Nursing Home for almost two years and has always received the best care despite her increasing dementia and challenges relating to it. The staff are always patient and caring towards Mum and nothing is too much trouble. The nursing staff keep me updated on any health issues and treatment going forward. The management and admin staff are amazing and always happy to spend time listening to any worries about Mum's dementia and offering solutions to deal with them. There are plenty of daily activities to keep the residents entertained and occupied. We as a family are very happy with the care at The Orangery.
The staff are very friendly and polite. Mum has got to know many of the staff and they treat her lovely. Nothing is too much trouble.
My aunt arrived here around six to eight weeks ago. She loves it here. I can see that my aunt is very happy here. She has and continues to be so very well cared for and looked after by the staff who are so kind, so caring and so very friendly. They all do a great job looking after her and us visitors too. I am always made very welcome every time I visit. The building is beautiful, it is kept exceptionally clean but it also has a very homely atmosphere too. They have thought of everything to make it feel like home for the residents. It has lovely gardens too. My aunt always enjoys the food and really enjoys the entertainment and activities that are laid on. I have had relatives in other care homes in and around the area and I must say from my personal experience this stands out as being the best on all fronts.
The Orangery Nursing Home has lovely helpful friendly staff who are always welcoming. I have seen how many of the staff are very affectionate and sincere with the residents. I am happy to know my mum is well looked after here.
Mum has been a resident for almost six years! Brexit and Covid have been difficult for care homes and The Orangery Nursing Home had to face these challenges too! Staffing appears to be more improved very recently and no longer needing visit appointments makes accessing Mum less regimented! The home has looked after Mum's needs very well. The staff are friendly and helpful!
The Orangery Nursing Home is a very well-run home, it is spotlessly clean and bright with a lovely atmosphere. The manager and administrator are always friendly and approachable. The level of care is excellent, the staff are well trained and they are caring, patient and kind - nothing is too much trouble. Although my partner is unable to walk and has advanced dementia, he is included in the activities that are frequently arranged. I am happy and thankful for all the love and care he is given.
Made to feel very welcome, come and chat with you and let you join in the activities. They look after you when you are upset. Always offer you refreshments and ask if you want to stay for supper. They let you spend time on your own with your relative in their room, with no rush for you to leave.
