View Full Details of De Brook LodgeVery please with the care my relative receives and is an outstanding home. All the other residents seem to be happy and all staff are very attentive to their needs. Glad to know my grandmother is looked after to a very high standard.
De Brook Lodge is an outstanding Care Home. I have never worried about my mum being a resident, I had 100% trust that she would be looked after with care and dignity. There were various activities on offer together with outings. Mum never wanted for anything, the staff attended to her every need and were extremely vigilant with her as she became more frail. All the staff, from Management down, knew their clients and their specific needs. All staff could be seen in the lounges chatting to their residents. Visitors were made to feel welcome and there was always a smile on staff faces. I cannot recommend this care home enough.
In summer of 2023, I visited De Brook Lodge without an appointment. Immediately, I was welcomed warmly by the front of house manager and, after an initial informal chat, was able to have a look around. My first impression was all the staff are so caring, the residents are able to engage in organised and stimulating activities if they wish and it was spotless. The manager is so friendly and approachable and goes out of his way to make your loved one feel very at home. The nursing manager is also friendly and very knowledgeable about her job, giving little tips on how to approach what is often a very hard decision to make. All the nursing staff went out of their way to make my mum's first week a very positive experience, everyone seems to know her name and who she is, even if they don’t work directly with her. I can only say that De Brook Lodge really is a home from home and I can relax a little knowing I’ve done the best for my mum and that she is in a safe and caring environment.
I have been extremely pleased with my mum's care at De Brook. There are plenty of activities and opportunities to talk to staff. My mum seems to have taken to it very well and has barely noticed that her surroundings have changed since she moved from her own home in October. I have no worries about leaving her each time I visit, as I know she is safe there.
After having several managers in a very short space of time, De Brook Lodge is much more settled since the new team has taken over. Always a smile on their faces and literally can't do enough for you when needed.
All the staff have been very kind and friendly. They have kept me updated on how my Mum is settling in and have been very supportive. I feel my Mum is being well cared for and receiving excellent support. The care home feels very homely whatever time of day I visit. I am very grateful.
My mother has recently resided at De Brook Lodge on the ground floor. All staff are very friendly. One staff member in particular (team leader) made us as a family very much at home nothing has ever been too much trouble for her and she always goes above and beyond for everyone, this lady definitely deserves recognition. Food always looks delicious and new kitchen units look excellent. Thank you.
Finding a suitable care home was very difficult for our family, but De Brook Lodge ticked all the boxes. My mother in law moved in recently and honestly we cannot be more pleased with our decision. It is a lovely home with even more lovely staff who go the extra mile to make residents feel comfortable and cared for. The young lady with blonde hair who is the senior on the ground floor especially impressed me. She clearly excels in her role as leader but also is not afraid to do the dirty work which was a surprise. All staff on ground floor are well drilled and all residents are extremely well looked after. It is clear this lady inspires those around her. My mother in law loves being here and we as a family feel safe and secure that she is being looked after correctly. Thank you De Brook Lodge.
Wonderful place, amazing staff who are always on hand to help. Settled mum and myself with the move and given guidance and advice throughout. Food is great and mum is encouraged to eat and drink. Would highly recommend
My dad resides at DeBrook Lodge. My brother and sister-in-law found this fantastic elderly placement/care home. The staff are warm, welcoming and friendly (all staff). I'd like to thank all the staff on the ground floor but one person, in particular, I would like my gratitude to go to (she's a star). My dad and this staff member seemed to hit it off straight away, my dad is happy and took a shine to her, her company, compassion, care and professionalism are a credit to her hard work and dedication. I myself feel extremely happy that he has struck a bond with this staff member and all other staff. My dad is happy, I'm happy. The establishment is lovely with recent new kitchens and lovely dining areas. If I needed to be cared for I would go to De Brook Lodge I think it's a happy home. Thank you all.
The management are very approachable and friendly and nothing is a problem. My mother is very happy with her surroundings and always says the staff and food are lovely. She is comfortable and feels secure. In my opinion, at times it is obvious there is a shortage of staff, basic tasks are sometimes performed, cleaning of rooms is poor and sometimes care is lacking ie showering often, this is not consistent. Some chatting and music and tv sound would help the residents feel more at home.
On walking into De Brook Lodge you are greeted with a lovely warm welcome. This carries on throughout the home. The care my mother-in-law gets from all the staff is 100%. It's such a lovely, friendly, warm home.
The reason why I chose De Brook Lodge as temporary respite for my father is simple. Firstly, I was welcomed with an open-door policy, by the manager, to have a look around without an appointment. Confidence there's nothing to hide. The decor is fresh, clean, open and inclusive. Staff naturally shared their lived experiences of family members, past and present, enjoying living here. The rooms are equivalent to hotel standards. The care and supportive considerations from staff to residents are effortlessly observed. A totally inclusive care home.
Today I visited a friend on the second floor. There were four lovely staff on duty, but the activities coordinator was outstanding in the way she interacted with the clients, encouraging and praising them as they played a game and including the non-participating clients as well. She was polite, enthusiastic and professional too. Well done!
My mother has had to be discharged with no accommodation because the previous home we had chosen would not take her due to her needs, even though they previously said they would. We went to De Brook Lodge where they were kind and extremely helpful and one staff member, in particular, showed us great empathy and compassion. Mum has now been residing at De Brook for three days and we have continued to experience a high level of attentiveness.
The home is very modern, has brilliant facilities and always smells fresh throughout. Nothing seems too much trouble for any of the staff, De Brook Lodge really has a homely atmosphere. It's lovely to see the staff have time to interact with residents and get to know them all on an individual basis. I have met with the new care manager and he seems very resident focused, he took the time to talk me through my family member's care plan to make sure it informed the staff of his likes and dislikes and full insight into his history i.e. growing up, family life and work life to build a profile that the care staff can use to interact with him. The activities in the home are always taking place and my family member is always keen to talk me through what's been happening and what's coming up. I am very grateful to De Brook Lodge and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for full-time care.
My wife has been here for eight months. The staff are very caring and provide good information. Since Covid-19 restrictions have lifted, I and my family, get full access to her, which is a help to us the family, plus help in the care home with her wellbeing.
Choosing a care home for a loved family member is a massive decision as there are so many factors to consider. From the start of our search, De Brook Lodge stood out as the right place for us. A major factor was that it was purpose-built as a care home so it was very spacious and light and the facilities offered were just what we were looking for, for my mother in law. We found the staff, every single one of them, to be kind, caring and considerate, often going well beyond what was expected of them and this was a major comfort for our family. We would wholeheartedly recommend De Brook Lodge to anyone.
A friend of mine has recently had a stay at De Brook Lodge and the feedback was wonderful. The staff were attentive, warm and caring, the food excellent and beautiful homely surroundings. I would highly recommend.
The staff, all of them without exception, are caring, compassionate, understanding and we have total confidence and trust in their care of my mum. The home is warm, welcoming, clean and creates a 'home' from 'home' with the framed photos and homely touches. There is an overwhelming feeling of calm and kindness. Relatives are kept well informed at all stages and cared for with tea, food and time to chat.
