View Full Details of Rose Lodge Care HomeMy mum has been at Summerfield House for 12 months. There have been many changes most of them necessary. However, credit where credit is due, the necessary changes have had a positive impact on my mother's care needs. The standard of care has improved a lot. Well done.
Absolutely brilliant care given to my mum and all residents are happy and well.
No problems. Staff appear caring and plenty in attendance. Home is clean, no smell, well decorated. Plenty of snacks and drinks around. We are notified of any issues promptly. My auntie had an issue recently and the ambulance was called immediately. (Unfortunately, Auntie now deceased.)
The home is clean, friendly and well-managed. They treat the residents as if they are on holiday. Day rooms are modern and tidy. Would highly recommend this home.
After being told my grandma would be moved for end-of-life care, we were not holding out much hope, and to be honest, didn't know what to expect. However, my grandma has totally turned a corner and, although she is 93, is back sitting up in bed talking about her great-grandchildren and asking to see photos of all the family. It seems like the medication she is on has been sorted and has had a really positive effect. And for this, we are really grateful. We hope my grandma continues to thrive and be happy here, so thank you.
Arrived to find my sister-in-law with her carer in the dining room (I assume having had her breakfast) - her dementia means we get (meaningful information) she was wheeled to her room, where we spent an hour - she was initially withdrawn, but soon became more alert and seemed very content. Her carer returned twice to make sure all was well (it was), and we always find the care staff willing, cheerful and capable. The boxes I've left unticked are because "I don't know".
My sister was up, washed and dressed when my husband and I arrived. Whilst in her room, several staff popped in for various reviews. She seemed quite content and well cared for. When we were ready to leave, a member of staff was available to look after us. Not able to answer all the ratings.
Mum is very well cared for. The home is very clean and bright. It's been newly decorated and looks very smart. There are lots of activities on offer, and the food is generous and varied. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.
I believe that Summerfield House is doing a good job in caring for my mother. I am particularly impressed with the staff, who all appear cheerful and attentive. However, I think my mother has deteriorated (dementia) over the last six months, I would hope that extra care would now be incorporated with dressing and hygiene as required. All in all very pleased.
Can’t fault this place at all. Staff super friendly, place is well-kept and always clean. Would definitely recommend this place to others. Thank you so much for all your hard work. Very lovely environment and staff are also very good to all visitors.
My mum has been a resident at Summerfield House for only a short time, and in that time, she has really settled and told us a number of times that she loves it! The staff and management have been warm, welcoming and always happy to have a chat. I feel my mum is supported to a high standard; she is treated with dignity and respect. In a short time, she has bonded and built trust with the staff, as they are kind, caring and encouraging! For what could have been a very difficult transition, it's been a huge relief how happy my mum is here, and that's because of Summerfield House.
My mother now seems very settled. She likes her room with the view of the garden. The garden is easily accessible when I visit so we can have half an hour or more out there if the weather permits. She can make her own way to the dining room, lounge or reception. This is a huge bonus as it does keep her moving and not dependant on her wheelchair. She says that the food is excellent. The new decorations in the communal areas look very good and overall there is a relaxed atmosphere.
Very friendly staff and management, care and support is excellent. Activities thoughtful and well planned. Food is varied and plentiful.
Over the last four and a half years I have been regularly (apart from lockdown) visiting. Every time I have been welcomed with smiles and acknowledgement from all the staff. They have acted on anything I have concerns about e.g. declining mental health and declining general health. Full praise to receptionists, cleaners, care staff, nurses and anybody else who I may have forgotten.
Outstanding in all respects. A model of excellent practice.
My dad spent the last few days of his life at Summerfields, and it was a very special experience. The staff were very patient with him and us, and we were treated with great respect and care. Thank you to everyone on the nursing floor.
I cannot thank Summerfield enough for the excellent care and support they showed towards my dad and us. They made a very difficult experience so much better for all of us. I cannot recommend them enough.
My mum lived at Summerfield House for three and a half years until she passed away in August. The manager and all the staff always showed care and compassion towards Mum, even when her behaviour became challenging. They were always there, ready with a smile to try to work something out and this was hugely appreciated. The past 18 months will undoubtedly have been hugely challenging for the team, but the care they offered has never faltered. Even at the beginning of Covid they were quick to help sort arrangements out to bring Mum back to Summerfield from hospital to be looked after in isolation. A wonderful place full of wonderful people.
Mum was resident at Summerfield House for just under four years until September 2019, including a short time in palliative care. Total kindness, care, love, patience and dedication was shown throughout by all management and staff. She was made to feel comfortable and at home, enjoying good food, personal extras (hairdresser, chiropody and optician) and the home organised regular activities to add variety and interaction for residents. This level of care was wonderful, not only for Mum but also for us (her daughters) to know she was comfortable but also for peace of mind she was being fully cared for, kept warm and clean, which she herself greatly appreciated. This year the home organised a wonderful 100th birthday celebration, giving us lasting memories of a really special day. Similarly, a very special level of care and consideration was shown during her time in palliative care. Summerfield House is truly a home from home and a credit to the staff and the way it is run. Thank you!
Today, two residents celebrated their birthdays. A 99th and a 100th. The staff made everyone, including my mum, feel pampered and special in preparing them for the day's celebrations. Lovely outfits were chosen, makeup lovingly applied, squirts of perfume... Special activities were running all day, with cakes and favourite tipples. At Summerfield, residents aren't just treated as individuals. They are treated as beloved individuals.
