View Full Details of Yarnton Residential and Nursing HomeMy father was admitted from the hospital following a recent palliative diagnosis. The manager met with me prior to the admission and reassured me that the team could meet his potential conditions. The nursing and care he received on his admission was exemplary. The home was clean and bright with a lovely welcoming atmosphere. and all the staff were kind, caring and professional. I am so grateful to the team for everything they did for my father and us as a family.
We were very nervous about leaving our mother in respite care, but we had no need. She was cared for extremely well, and we were notified straight away of any health concerns. We, as her family, were also welcome and looked after when visiting. It has completely changed our perception of care homes, and we would have no hesitation in using the care home again.
The team at Yarnton keep their role as carers front and centre. From big efforts to small gestures what I’ve experienced visiting Dad is impressive. I met a new family in the car park nervous that their dog would be too lively; I felt really confident to reassure them that the whole team would love the smile a happy dog would deliver to all. A very special team indeed, thank you.
Life threw a bunch of curve balls at us all at the same time, making it difficult to provide Mum with the support she needed. Sanctuary Care was able to provide respite care at short notice, welcoming her in and reassuring her family that she was not only safe but well cared for. Her room was like walking into a hotel room and very comfortable. She was encouraged to join in activities and had a great time socially. Visitors were welcomed in and able to take her for trips out - wonderful! Thank you all so much.
We used Yarnton for my dad's respite for two weeks after an admission to hospital for a chest infection. It worked out very well and he was able to recover well over the two weeks he was there. He said the staff and the rooms were very good. The food was very good. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
Our father has improved in so many ways since he joined your home in Oxford. The dignity the vast majority of your staff help him maintain is amazing and firmly believe that his dementia would be much worse if he was trying to balance that outside of this sanctuary. Forever grateful he is safe and happy. Thank you.
The staff on the unit are excellent. Dad is well-treated, given time, chatted to as well as cared for. The food is amazing.
Our grandmother spent the last few weeks of her life at Yarnton Residential and Nursing Home. We were extremely grateful for the care given to her by all the staff, including the carers, the nurses, the cleaners and the management and administrative staff. They were also very helpful to us in arranging to move her in, making sure that she had everything that she and we needed and in keeping in contact with us.
The care home is immaculately clean; the care staff are hugely attentive and so lovely; the management staff are very much involved with the residents, visible, transparent and go the extra mile. The chef meets the residents to ensure they like the food he is cooking for them, including fresh cake each afternoon. The grounds are beautifully maintained and my mother settled in very quickly despite not wanting initially to leave her home. There is a varied entertainment programme and she loves the hairdresser on site. I can only praise most highly Yarnton across the board.
Very thankful to all staff at Yarnton Nursing Home, who cared for my husband for a week's respite to give me a much-needed break. When we went to view the home we were met with smiles and had all our questions answered patiently. The food was good, the staff were caring.
My father was a resident at Yarnton Residential and Nursing Home for what turned out to be only a few weeks as he passed away at the beginning of March. I am so pleased that we got him into Yarnton for those last precious weeks as he was treated with nothing but kindness and consideration. He felt safe and looked after. The staff went out of their way to make him comfortable. He was treated well and felt listened to. We could not have been happier with the care he was given.
Upon our visit, the manager was extremely polite and helpful in making sure we knew where all the exit points were in case of an emergency. The care home looked immaculate and friendly, and they were more than accommodating.
My mother has blossomed whilst here. The staff are attentive, caring and relaxed during difficult times. Waiting to get in at reception is generally good with understanding staff. Well done, everyone.
As a family, we are so pleased that Mum is happy and settled at Yarnton Residential and Nursing Home. The home is set in lovely grounds, and there are brilliant activities on offer for the residents to take part in. The home is very professionally led, and management is always doing their utmost to go above and beyond. All staff are friendly and caring. Thank you to you all.
My mum moved into Yarnton Residential and Nursing Home in October this year. Most of the staff are great and friendly, always welcoming when we go in. Mum seems to be happy. She is able to mix with other residents, so has people to talk to when the family are not there.
As a family, we have always been very pleased with the care home. Recently the staff went out of their way to ensure my nan could be involved in a family event. My son was being christened, and the service was live-streamed. The staff decorated the lounge, sent out invites, and laid on a special breakfast for my nan and other residents. It meant so much to us that my nan could take part and was made to feel special.
My friend was in residence for approximately three years, during which I visited her weekly. In my view, the most important thing is the attitude of the staff and I observed that my friend was treated not merely with dignity but with real kindness and affection, which made her stay a happy one. I have no personal knowledge of some of the aspects listed, which in some cases is why I have ticked good rather than excellent.
Very good. Nice garden to walk around. Very pleasant people working here. The food is pretty good. Activities are generally good.
Always welcoming a beautiful home with beautiful people caring for my parents. Always there to listen and answer questions. Nothing is too much trouble. The health and well being of residents is paramount to the staff.
My mother (84) had a fall downstairs and was discharged from the hospital, despite a fractured vertebra causing pain and restricting her movement. Unable to cope at home, respite care was arranged very quickly with Yarnton Residential and Nursing Home. Now, after three weeks in the very friendly and supportive environment they provide, she is returning home with much-improved mobility and without the anxiety; she has suffered for most of the last year. All of the staff at the home are very caring and attentive to their residents and supportive of relatives. I am so thankful that they could help my mother when she needed care and will not hesitate to rely on their services when the time comes for residential living.
