View Full Details of Drovers CallLovely home, been here a few months. Staff kind. The food is good.
We are pleased with the care our father is receiving. The staff genuinely care for him and are knowledgeable his condition and daily life.
We couldn't be happier with the care mum gets. All the staff are so kind and caring and genuinely want to learn more about her to further enhance her care. They are equally attentive to you too if you need to ask anything or just simply want a cup of tea. The Manager was our first point of contact and was always available to talk to and respond to any questions too. Everyone makes you feel at home and it truly does feel like a home from home.
The thing that stands out most about Drovers Call is just how caring and friendly the staff are. When another care home said they couldn't cater for mum in law's complex needs we worried that we might not be able to find anywhere suitable locally, but she has been welcomed at Drovers from the start. So much so that when my mum also needed a care home we had no hesitation in choosing Drovers Call.
My husband has been at Drovers Call for 2 years now. He has shown great improvement in that time and seems happy to be there. On my visits I find staff at all levels treat him with kindness, sensitivity and with dignity. I greatly admire the way they handle his day to day care with humour and compassion on both good and bad days. I always feel welcome on my visits. Whenever I have any question or am anxious about any aspect of his care, staff on duty will try to answer them or find a person who can. A big thank you Drovers Call.
My brother has been under the care of Drovers Call since September 2017. Since being at the home the staff have gone above and beyond in looking after him. He has many complex needs and all the staff that cares for him are competent, empathetic without being patronising and I genuinely feel care for him like family. One of the main strengths for me is there is not a great turnover of staff, so my brother has become used to the carers and they are familiar with him, which helps with his needs. The communication between the care home and family is great and we often FaceTime with him with the help of staff. If we ever do have any concerns, or worries especially during coved when we haven’t been able to visit and see him for ourselves, the manager has emailed back within the same day to relieve our worries. As a family we are so happy he is at Drovers Call Care Home, and feel he is part of a bigger family which is very reassuring.
Staff always caring, helpful and inform us if and when needed following falls or other concerns.
I am beyond impressed with the standards of care at Drovers Call. Mum has been there for 2.5 years now and has late/advanced Alzheimer's, with sometimes difficult issues. Everyone, from the cleaners and laundry staff to the management treat her with the utmost respect, affection and kindness. They also treat us, as visiting family, with the same kindness, and with compassion/understanding for our situation. We used to visit 3 times a week; it's now 5 times a week since Mum has deteriorated, and we have always, from day one, been made to feel very welcome. On occasion, when my Dad has been very worried about Mum, he has turned up unannounced in the middle of the night to sit/sleep in her room, and the staff have invariably fussed over him and made him feel welcome. Everyone dealing with Mum has patience, compassion and attention to detail, and it's very clear that their interactions with Mum are entirely focused around what is best for her and what is most respectful to her.
My husband appears to be quite lonely with no other residents on his wing that he can really communicate with. He is now settled after two years in the care home but he still asks to come home, which is very hard for me to say that I cannot look after him. The carers appear to be kind to him even though he does fight them when he has to have personal attention.
Our mother has been a resident at Drovers Call for five years. Sadly she is now on end of life support. In the time she has been at Drovers, the Manager and her care team have given her care, love and dignity, cared for her every need now she has become bedbound. They treat her with the utmost respect, giving us, her family peace of mind. A very well run care home and brilliant care team.
Drovers is a clean, welcoming and happy home that provides great care for my Uncle. The staff take my uncle to the shops whenever he needs to go and allow him to have all his own food prepared.
I have just moved my father from a care home in Driffield into the Drovers Call at Gainsborough. In the short time that my father has been at the Drovers, he has been shown nothing but kindness and care. I feel that he will continue to enjoy his time spent at the Drovers, for he is well fed and cared for, and is kept entertained throughout the day should he require to join in. Well done The Drovers.
The home is very clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Any problems are resolved.
Lovely caring staff, comfortable room and facilities.
Very pleased as a family with the help and care given to my mum who has been in for respite care on 3 previous occasions and is now in after being in the hospital. She has had two falls breaking two bones and is unlikely to be able to return to her own home. The staff are very helpful, listen to anything we wish to speak about. It's lovely to see my mum so clean, tidy and looking nicer than she has in a long time due to her dementia. The home is very welcoming, clean and very nicely decorated.
On entering the home, easy access to carpark, bright and welcoming reception area. On entering dining and sitting areas it is a very light, welcoming, spacious area and lovely garden area. The bedrooms are light and airy with toilet and washing facilities. The meals are good and nourishing, the residents are well cared for. The staff, no matter how busy, are excellent, nothing too much trouble. The staff are not miracle workers, but I am more than satisfied with my Mums care and support she is receiving. The staff have been very supportive on all matters.
This is the 3rd home my mum has been to and it is so much better. The staff are brilliant, work very hard, seem to know what they are doing, always seem to try and treat everyone with respect and as people. The staff seem to be mainly regular and they don't seem to have to rely on agency too much. Lots of activities and a general feeling that they want to get to know their residents and help them where they can to be who they are. Everyone always seems very open with communication and care is regularly reviewed, I feel I can talk with staff whenever I have any concerns-which is really important to me after the journey we've had with mums care over the years. My mum can be very difficult and I was concerned about over medication from previous experience, they are continually monitoring her care and keeping medication down to a minimum, with the hope of avoiding altogether in the future, and using other techniques. Food seems good, mum has put on weight. I worry a lot less. Huge thank you!
I think the staff are brilliant, the effort, time and love they put in for caring for Dad is fantastic. With him being only 50 years old, none of us expected to be in this situation but the staff support us and make me able to sleep at night. Clean, tidy home, always doing nice things for the residents. The manager is definitely worth being recognised for running a lovely home.
I have spent a week in this care home on respite care. Initially, I found it difficult because of being used to having a one to one relationship at home with my wife, but soon settled in and have enjoyed my stay. The staff are friendly and supportive and the food very good, and if I have had a problem it has quickly been sorted out. My stay here has been quite pleasant and I wouldn't hesitate to return if the need arises.
Drovers Call offers a bright, clean home with pleasant, attentive staff. My aunt has settled in well and her needs are being well met. She has flourished after moving here.
