View Full Details of Gainsborough HouseMy husband has been a resident on Renoir unit for almost 5 years. He is very well looked after and the staff go above and beyond to ensure his needs are met. Not only do they provide support for him but to us as his family too. It takes dedicated people to work with and understand residents with dementia and they do so with patience and professionalism. Nothing is too much trouble.
Friendly environment for residents and family members. Very clean rooms and beds are nicely made up. Laundry department take charge of belongings very well. Nothing seems to go missing. Some items of clothing may need to be ironed though. Mum has been at Gainsborough for many years and in previous years everything was ironed nicely. I appreciate it must be a very busy department and they do well really. Unit can sometimes be noisy and the bussers/alarms can be piercingly loud in some areas. Every member of staff is always so very helpful and approachable. We are very happy with Gainsborough House. Home has started sending out a newsletter, nice to read.
Very pleased with Dad's care. Done more here than in hospital. Always clean, tidy, smart. Room immaculate.
I want to commend the amazing staff who work on the Matisse Unit. My husband is cared for as if he were their family member. Nothing is too much trouble and not only do they care about him, but they support and help me to understand and deal with the difficulties that Alzheimer’s disease can bring. The quality of care, the surroundings, the menu, and many activities that are tailored personally towards the residents are all outstanding. I wouldn't want my husband to be cared for anywhere else. Thank you so much Gainsborough House.
My husband's still a resident. His complex needs are changing, but have still been met by caring staff. Weekly involvement with GP. He's cared for by the wonderful staff on his floor. Welcomed as part of an extended family.
My mum was to see if she liked it. After 1 night I bought her home, no staff. Left without a drink out in bed in clothes, told she would have to stay there until they got the right equipment to move her which had to be ordered. Didn’t get medication until 12.00 am. The decor is very nice but patients are out in the corridor part, not the fancy rooms that are on their website. Wouldn’t recommend this place.
I would just like to email and let you know how much I and my family appreciate your staff at Gainsborough House - the staff on the Renoir floor. My mum was taken in to hospital yesterday with a suspected stroke, she was there from 8 am and no one on A&E could provide personnel care and she was getting sore. The A&E dept was over run and Mum was in a corridor all day. The staff from the care home called me to see how Mum was doing and I mentioned about the personnel care, within 10 minutes two members of staff arrived at A&E and, not only cleaned Mum, they brought her fresh nightwear. They were not in uniform so I can only guess this was done in their own time and is over and above what I would expect - that is the sort of ladies they are - they always go the extra mile and are a credit to London & Manchester Healthcare
My mum received the most amazing care during her six months at Gainsborough House. She was treated with dignity and respect. Can’t thank the nurses and carers enough for taking such good care of my mum, especially in her final days. They made a very difficult time for me much easier with their care and compassion.
My wife went to Gainsborough House on 14/2/23. She was welcomed with open arms. She was only in till she was rushed into hospital on 10/5/23 where she sadly passed away with MND. I recommend this care home, second to none. The love and care them lovely ladies showed my wife was unbelievable. The ladies went above and beyond their duties, anything my wife desired they did for her. The love and compassion they showed to my wife were heartwarming, to say the least. She was on the Piccasso floor, I can't thank them enough for making her stay as comfortable as possible. God forbid I would need to go into care, I would pick Gainsborough hands down. From the bottom of my heart, thank you ladies.
A fantastic facility with such caring staff. So many activities with alot of thought going into what the residents would enjoy. Lovely meals and the dining room is always set up beautifully. Made a fuss on resident's birthdays and ensured everyone is comfortable and happy. Lovely rooms and always spotlessly clean.
My mum has been at this Gainsborough House Care Home for the last six years. Mum was in the Matisse 1st floor area, which we found excellent from the staff and management and the entertainment girls, the cleaning staff and also the laundry girl. Mum was transferred to the ground floor Picasso a couple of years ago because it was a little quieter for my mum. The staff on the Picasso floor were so good over the time Mum was a resident. Mum's room and bathroom were impeccable all the time. I would recommend this care home to anyone Mum passed away in March 2023.
My father is currently on Matisse floor. On visiting him on Christmas Day the conditions of his room were abysmal. The toilet seat was stained from faeces, there were stains on the bathroom floor, the main floor of his room and also in his bed which he was expected to get back into. I had to get a nurse to change his bedding and to ask for a cleaner to come and clean his room and bathroom properly. Nobody seemed to be aware of his condition from the previous day and after this was reported to the home manager, nothing has been said to my family about the findings and who was at fault for these disgraceful findings. No matter what is reported, and there are a lot of bad reports being made by my family and other families, there are no improvements or updates on the complaints being made. The whole situation with regard to this home is a disgrace. On the whole, my father is not being looked after even though the home is taking all the money from the council and my mother.
My mother died in December having spent over seven years in Gainsborough House. During that period her health suffered many complex changes and stages but the staff on Renoir took excellent care of her and got to know and anticipate her needs. Mum felt safe and secure. I was always informed of any medical changes and kept up to date with video calls, even during Covid. I cannot fault the love, respect, compassion, and attention shown to her during her time there, or the support offered to me and my family when the end finally came. Thank you to all at Gainsborough House, especially the Renoir unit...you are unsung heroes and I am going to miss you.
I have found the care provided for my wife to obe excellent. The staff are very caring and compassionate and are a credit to the company.
My dad is so well looked after and cared for by the team at Gainsborough (Renoir) nothing is too much trouble. They are personable, caring and friendly. They create a lovely atmosphere on the floor for the residents and their own workplace. Great food, environment, we could not ask for any more for my dad. Thank you all the Renoir team.
My dad has been a resident for almost two years. Dad is very settled in Gainsborough House. He is cared for very well by the staff. There are many reasons why we are happy with Dad's care, amongst those reasons are how kind the staff are and how patient they are with Dad. The staff are a credit to Gainsborough House and many of the staff are the same staff that worked there when Dad first went in. They, therefore, know Dad really well and genuinely care for him in a kind and compassionate way. Thank you to all the staff for everything you do.
I can't praise Gainsborough House enough. Every member of staff I have dealt with has been pleasant, responsive and effective... nothing seems to be too much trouble. And the home is a pleasure to visit... it's clean and bright, and the decor is beautiful. My mum constantly tells me how happy she is there and how kind and attentive the staff are to her. She loves food and is very happy in that regard. And she is very appreciative that the staff take the trouble to get her a daily paper and serve her a glass of wine with her evening meal. I'm sure this kind of personalised care is what helped her to settle in so quickly. Knowing how happy she feels is incredibly reassuring to me to our whole family.
Our experience of Gainsborough House has been very positive and overall very good for my father. The home is very good. My dad is getting all the adequate care he needs and I have no complaints! Thank you, Gainsborough House.
Mum moved into the home in September and is happy. The environment is clean, friendly and mum's room is very spacious with her own bathroom. The staffing is good, lots of staff have been working at Gainsborough House for many years.
My husband has been at Gainsborough House for three years in March 2022. I couldn't wish for any better care than he gets, they are wonderful. They treat every resident with respect and management are always there to help. Thank you.
