View Full Details of West Cliff Hall Care HomeBuilding lovely, staff cheerful and good facilities. Unfortunately my Stepfather was seriously let down though. Alarm bells rang 2 days in and met manager to discuss. Lots of encouraging words but sadly had to remove Dad 2 days later. Unable to maintain medication timings, unable to manage his safeguarding or the person who was harassing him. They were advanced in their condition and should have been supervised. On raising our complaint it seemed management disregarded the seriousness of the problem or just didn't read our email. Hope they've improved and hired more staff but I would urge anyone to caution before placing a loved one there.
My mum was very agitated and upset when she moved in but staff have been wonderful, patient and kind to me and mum. Things have settled well and I've been impressed by the professionalism of all staff. Nothing has been too much trouble.
I like the staff and residents. I feel safe and secure with all the residents.
On the whole, I am happy. I have made good friends. I enjoy the activities.
Staff very helpful. Room very clean. Staff very helpful and polite. Food very good.
I would just like to say that I am very happy with things at West Cliff Hall, my mum seems to be very well cared for an I don't have to worry at all. The only thing my mum does not like very much is the meals, I feel there is so much waste, as she says a lot of the residents don't like the food. Its very hard for me to put that, but I have to be honest such a shame because the Chef is such a nice man.
We can't thank everyone at West Cliff Care Home enough for looking after our mum and keeping her safe, also for keeping us well informed on any changes throughout her stay, between February 17th 2024 - 19th of August 2024 when our mum sadly passed away peacefully and in no pain. On the last visit I made on the 19th, carers were keeping a vigil on her every fifteen minutes. My mum was made comfortable with a view out onto the garden where squirrels and birds could be seen. I was able to say my goodbyes to my mum and my visitors were very dignified. We were able to set up a community tea at the college where I work. The carers brought along the residents including my mum to enjoy sandwiches, savouries and cakes, baked and served and music performed by students. As I could join my mum it made for a very special afternoon. A big thank you to everyone at West Cliff Care Home. The carers, catering and activities staff, cleaning staff and management. All carried out their duties to a professional and high standard. Many thanks again from all the family.
This just one incident in many in the past few months. Today mum didn't get a morning coffee. Lunch today was chicken curry or vegetable curry! No other choice. Dessert, was banana and pudding, when my mum asked 'what is the pudding' the person said pudding. Obliviously the person did not know what the pudding was or didn't understand English. Mum asked for toilet paper early morning and didn't get them until 3:15pm. Today the room has not been cleared or hoovered. This is just one example of many in the past few months.
I am happy here. Love the food. The staff are great. Have made friends. It is very clean. I am happy and content.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Home is clean and tidy. I am happy here.
My brothers and I are grateful for the high-quality care given to my mother in the short time she was at West Cliff Hall Care Home. My mother had a bright, airy, nicely decorated room with a comfortable bed and other furniture. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the room and the care home in general. For sure the highlight for my mother was the absolutely excellent food. Please pass on our appreciation to the chef who truly produced excellent lunches on a consistent basis! Mum sent us regular photos of her wonderful lunches. At an older age, the quality and quantity of food is so important! Thank you also for your kind attention to Mum's needs. Any issues or questions were addressed in a professional and timely manner. We truly thank the staff for making Mum's stay as comfortable as possible and for listening to her many stories. A big thank you!
My dad came to live in West Cliff Hall Care Home in December 2023 until he passed away with Dementia in May 2024. We cannot thank the staff enough for the care and love they gave him. He was always clean, shaven and fed. The staff were caring and compassionate and always on call. My dad always had a smile on his face and often told us how much they looked after him. Both my sister and I can't thank you enough.
Happy my mother is staying at West Cliff Hall. Staff are wonderful, always welcoming, and it is lovely to see how well they interact and care for Mum. Facilities and activities are great and she is always kept busy. Management team are always happy to discuss Mum's care and very supportive. Carers, maintenance team, housekeeping and kitchen team are all involved with residents and make for a complete enriching environment. Thank you.
Dad's stay started poorly due to the room he was put in. One of your carers was very empathetic and compassionate to his problems and was instrumental in getting Dad moved to a much better room (an excellent room). This enabled Dad's stay to be more enjoyable.
Care for my nan has been attentive during her stay, particularly in adjusting to her needs after a serious fall. I am grateful for the encouraged involvement in activities and mealtimes as loneliness was a key concern for my nan at home. Staff are welcoming, friendly and supportive of the family's input and wishes.
I struggle to find the words to describe how grateful and thankful myself and my family are of the depth of care given and shown to my father and us as a family during his short stay at West Cliff Hall. Nothing was too much trouble, for Dad and for us, even thoughtful touches we hadn't even considered were put in place to make him and us comfortable from the beginning and especially during his last week or so. You made my father's last days more than we could have ever hoped for, your kindness brought more than a few tears to my eyes. From the housekeeping staff to the manager and every person in between, you showed compassion, you always asked how we were, you always were ready and willing to help, to suggest something that could help and implement it straight away. So thank you, thank you, thank you, we could not have wished for a better place for him to spend his last days.
I have been visiting my sister-in-law for just over one year and have always found the staff very friendly, helpful and show great respect, compassion and understanding.
I have been visiting West Cliff Hall for just over a year to see my sister. The improvement in the car park has made a vast difference, especially for people who have walking or mobility difficulties. I am always greeted by the staff in a friendly manner and I have noticed the staff treat my sister with respect and dignity and when she needs help it is readily given. The activities are well thought out and try to accommodate the likes of everyone.
Came to visit my aunt recently at West Cliff Hall, I hadn't been before so didn't know what to expect. I was made to feel welcome around the home, the staff were friendly and the home looked clean and very nicely decorated My aunt is clearly being well looked after by all concerned, the room she has is warm and cosy and nice to see lots of her own personal belongings around.
I am comfortable here and never feel I'm wanting for anything. I enjoy my days and I have made some friends too.
