The team at Westerton have been amazing. My father has been so perfectly looked after and his stay has been comfortable and easy, and exactly what my dad needed. Thank you Team Bute.
My mum moved into Westerton 5 months ago and is so comfortable, and all the staff from cleaning, laundry, kitchen, offices, maintenance, hairdressers and the carers and nursing staff are so friendly, helpful and supportive, they go out of their way to make the residents feel like a big family. The home is kept clean and fresh and the variety on the menu seems varied, there always seems to be things going on to keep the residents busy. It's always hard if the time comes and someone needs to become a resident in a home but all at Westerton Care make it as easy as possible, everyone is always made so welcome.
I was impressed with the decor and cleanliness of the building and the quality of the facilities, both medical and recreational (indoors and out): it was the care and consideration of the staff which made the greatest impression. My cousin was allocated a lead nurse, and a first-year student. I live abroad, but was still able to get regular daily updates on my cousin's condition and was able to speak with him on the phone. A wide variety of food and drink was always available, and all the nursing staff, carers and auxiliaries made a point of talking with him whenever they had reason to be in his room. All residents had the use of several communal rooms, dining areas and recreational facilities all of which were bright, airy, beautifully clean and well-decorated, and I noticed a small dedicated maintenance team who were an integral part of the workforce and they, too, displayed care and consideration towards the residents as they carried out their tasks.
I am very happy with the care my mother is getting in Westerton Care Home. She is treated very well by all the staff. The fact that she is very content speaks volumes for the care and attention she is getting. Thank you all.
Overall the standards of the care home are very good, facilities are also good and varied. The staff in the main are attentive and friendly, menus are also varied and of good quality. A nice personal touch on our 50th Wedding anniversary, they organised a special meal in the Cafe area with wine a nice touch which was appreciated.
The only complaint I have is when I call from abroad, many times I call and get no answer or I get through and no answer at the nursing chamber.
My dad came to Westerton, Bearsden as an emergency after Mum had a fall. EDC could not have found a better place for my dad. He has dementia and has difficulty chatting to people. He really liked the communal dining room in Mall Ward. The food was excellent. My dad's room was kept very clean and he received truly exceptional care. The manager on Mull Ward went above and beyond to make my dad's stay comfortable. Unfortunately the activities lady was on holiday. The haircut at the end was the icing on the cake for my dad. Thank you so much.
They take great care of my grandad and are always friendly and chatty to me when I come in. They have a natural rapport with all residents and take a genuine pride in going the extra mile. A real effort to get residents into social areas too.
My uncle has been a resident in Mull Unit for two weeks. Every single member of staff has gone above and beyond to help him settle in. The respect for his wishes and preferences and tailoring his care has been incredibly impressive and I'm really grateful to everyone for everything they are doing to help him settle in.
My mum has received nursing and residential care over a number of years from Westerton Care Home. She has been suffering from Alzheimer's dementia for a very long time. Her care here has been excellent and she is attended to with dignity, friendliness and respect. She is taken out on trips which she greatly enjoys and she has access to a garden where she can sit with the sun on her face and listen to the everyday sounds of the outside world which brings her joy. I think the staff are wonderful and kind.
Westerton continued to provide first-class care for its residents. The staff at all levels are very courteous and kind, and seem always to treat the residents with patience. The accommodation is excellent and it is fortunate to have outside space to enjoy when the sun shines! I have always been kept well informed of any health or other issues relating to my wife.
Found care to be what I required for my wife.
Experience with the home has always been good and the staff have always been caring and patient with my mother who has been a resident for over ten years now. They always seem to do the right things for her and are very attentive when there is something not going well. They always have her safety and well-being at the main principle of her well-being.
My mother was cared for after a spell in hospital following a broken hip. She was cared for to rehabilitate and although circumstances did not allow for the physical, and occupational therapy, we had hoped for, that was not the fault of the staff in who, without exception, cared for her in a kind and sensitive manner. Anytime she was visited by the family she was always fulsome in her praise for her carers. My personal thanks to all the care home staff as well as social work staff and our local district nurse and rehabilitation team.
My wife has dementia and is wheelchair bound and thus dependant on staff for all facilities. Staff provide her care with a personal approach encouraging interaction. Interaction with nursing, activities and management staff is good and rooms and communal facilities are well maintained.
The staff are very caring and nothing is too much bother. The rooms are well looked after and kept in a good clean condition. In my experience, I'm always kept up-to-date from the staff if the doctor has made a call. I've heard of varying reports on the food but I cannot personally comment on this as I've not seen it for myself. The unit my mum is in is quiet and bright and she's able to have a walk outside if she wishes.
All staff make you feel welcome. The home doesn’t smell like a normal care home, smells lovely and my friend loves it there. Always lots on for my friend to do and office staff are so helpful when you come in.
The staff are great and some of them are priceless. The garden has now been restored by a local school and now looks so much better. I can’t comment about the food as my wife can’t remember what was on offer and there used to be a menu outside the dining room.
Staff are great on the Argyle wing, respectful and caring. They don’t get enough credit for the compassion they show and what they put into their 'job' every day.
Everything is satisfactory and comfortable.
