View Full Details of Oatleigh Care LtdWhat can I say about this care home. They are quite simply amazing from all the carers to the management. Everyone always welcomes us with huge smiles. The care and love always shown towards mum is outstanding. A superb home with the most fantastic staff. Highly recommend.
We are first cousins of the resident, who has been under your care for a good while now. Yesterday the 25th of July, we came to your Hawaii theme event, it was amazing. The planning, the participation of the staff was amazing, in fact everything was fantastic. We won the dinner raffle, but most of all how well my cousin looked, she looked amazing, she looked well, she looked happy. Her hair done, nails done and very alert and happy. Cannot thank you enough, all of you worked so hard, thanks all of you again.
My dad was in Oatleigh Care home for almost 4 years. During that time, which included Covid where we were unable to see him for periods of time, we felt reassured that Dad was very well looked after. We received updates on any concerns or changes with both dad's health and care. The staff and managers were very approachable and had Dad's needs at the forefront of the care provided. Staff showed genuine interest and concern of Dad and us as a family. I would recommend Oatleigh Care to other families.
My mother has been a resident since October 2016. Mum is looked after extremely well; the staff know her, giving her time, addressing her always by name and reassuring her. My mum is always immaculately dressed; she has her hair done once a week and even has her nails painted, which I believe adds to her overall well-being. The home is clean and modern, and the staff have made me feel welcome at visiting times.
The staff are always friendly and helpful. My mum is very well looked after. The only criticism I have is that it would be nice for family members to be informed when a long-term member of staff leaves.
I visited my ex-husband either alone or with my husband weekly for the 16 months he was in Oatleigh. The care home had a lovely friendly feeling as soon as you walked through the door. My ex-husband had his own en suite room which was spotlessly clean and comfortable with his own pictures and personal belongings around him. He was happy, well-fed and certainly well looked after with the staff always making a fuss of him. There were plenty of activities he could join in and was encouraged to do so. I also joined in a few times with some of the music events and my ex-husband loved listening to music and singing. When I visited, I always found him happy and content and the lovely caring staff made me feel welcome as well. It is very sad when a friend or relative has to go into a care home but I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Oatleigh.
In April 2020 I called my father several times and was informed he was taking a nap and or resting. After several days when I pressed for a manager. I was told he had been unable to get out of bed for several days. I immediately suspected covid, but I was told he had seen a doctor by Skype who said he had a urine infection. Five days later he passed away in the hospital of covid. I am his next of kin and on behalf of my deaf sister, we have been trying to get copies of his care plan and medical reports for almost a year. Instead of providing these simple and rightful responses the care home manager has instructed staff to refrain from contact and has replied that we were rude. I accept that it's a good care home in general and my father was happy there however what we don't accept is the constant refusal to the medical report given by the doctor who saw him and his care plan.
It is one of the hardest decisions a family has to make, knowing if, when and where to put a loved one into residential care. That was certainly true in our case. I visited several homes, spoke to other relatives using Oatleigh Court and various other establishments in my search for one that I felt offered what was needed and ‘felt’ right. I found that at Oatleigh Court. Mum is always clean and well-groomed with her hair and nails done. Although Mum doesn’t want to participate in lots of activities they gently encourage her to do so but would always let her decide for herself - she prefers to sit quietly and chat to visitors. The staff are kind and reassuring to Mum and always welcoming to me and my family. There is good communication from the home too to discuss any issues that may arise. The home is well run, kept in a good state of repair, is clean, bright and well furnished. I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
My mother has been a resident for nearly three years. During this time she has been treated with kindness, care and consideration. The staff have taken time to get to know her as a person, understand her wants and needs and treat her with kindness and patience. There is a warm atmosphere throughout, and I am confident that my mother is safe and happy. There are daily activities and my mother particularly enjoys the music recitals. I have been particularly impressed with Oatleigh Care during this time of Covid, from the protection measures they have put in place to keep everyone safe, to keeping me informed of my mother's progress and generally staying cheerful throughout under what must be great pressure. They have my trust and thanks.
Dad has been a resident since March 2018. His care has been excellent. He's always clean and well-groomed. Sadly, he's now on end of life care and everyone, including the administration staff, have been so kind and helpful. We cannot fault the care he's receiving. My mum has been a devoted visitor and they are so kind to her. We have had no experience of care homes before this but all visitors and people we've spoken to have all said Oatleigh is by far the best home they know of. We trust the carers 100%.
All I can say is that I am grateful every day that we found Oatleigh to care for my lovely mum. From the top down, the care, concern and love from all concerned with looking after my mother is tangible. There is simply nothing about the home that I could not recommend.
I have found the quality and sincerity of care exemplary. My mother is well looked after, is always clean and well presented. She likes her food and her room. The home is clean and modern. There is entertainment for the residents. The staff are welcoming to residents and their families.
